Well Curry leaving doesnāt change it at all.
Dave and Jalen start and I bet we play small ball when Jalen sits. Dave will be our most important player on the team BY FAR because the back-up 5 situation is not great. Just trying to piece together minutes when he sits.

it might come down to Mitch backing Dave again or Martin I know Martinās defense from everything Iām hearing is well - - - - - - letās just say suspect to say the least. Yet some spot minutes might be able to get away with

The staff does not want to play Mitch much is what Iāve been told. The main reason they went after Cam is they were worried none of the new guys would be good enough this year to unseat Mitch. Will be something to follow this season, as back-up 5 is looking like the weakest spot on the team.

Unerstand. So just another big reason again Dave has just got to avoid getting into foul trouble. That kind of situation can be a bad thing too. If Dave knows he has to avoid that foul trouble , it may hinder him being able to play freely, maybe cause him not to do things. On the other hand IF Cam could just play some resemblence of defense would be good, with him being able to really stretch the floor pull opposing bigs out because of his outside shooting. - -Having said that I STILL think I would rather go with Dave avoiding the foul trouble then have to rely on Cam trying to play defense

Or we just blow opponents out by 20+ and the issue becomes a moot point.

This doesnāt particularly affect KU, but Emoni Bates is reclassifying into the 2021 recruiting class. Iād still be shocked if he ever played a college game though.

Even with the NIL, the G League has to be the option. Jalen Green & Kuminga just went #2 and #7 in the draft after going G-League. I cannot imagine he sees that and doesnāt follow

Bates isnāt old enough for the 2022 draft so he basically has to make a 2 year decision. I saw a lot of speculation yesterday after he made the decision to reclassify that he might go to college for 1 year and then the G-League for 1 year.

Penny being a local hero and his path to the Memphis job is a big factor in the mediaās infatuation with him.

$ areā¦ One thing about Larry though, he will make a difference and is a great coach. And after about three, four or five years, you will be on probation. Just ask UCLA, KU or SMU.
While college football is imo close to breaking off all ties with the NCAA, college basketball has a long way to go to be able to do that, if ever (I say it wonāt, and canāt). Having said all of that, and knowing his past would you hire Larry Brown? I would not.

I saw that as well, and good for him. My question is how come none of our players are getting any deals. I know there have been a few small ones , but we need Crown Chevrolet or someone else to step it up. For as big as KU basketball is and what it brings to the local economy youād think there would be some more deals besides Ochai getting free food at Johnnys.

Lololol you really do hate seeing that. For real though, I kind of feel bad for the kid. Waaaaaaay overhyped as a teenager and all the pressure almost made him quit the game. Now itās apparent he peaked super early and has fringe at best NBA measurables. All this before he can buy a lottery ticket.

His arms are soooo short itās almost unreal.

Bates is probably still an NBA player. But he shouldnāt have played one second of college ball. Huge mistake by daddy.
Heās also a fresh 18, so I think most of his measurables will improve (minus reach lol).
I would take him in a heart beat if he decided he wanted to try playing somewhere besides Memphisā¦
