I’m not sold on McCoy just yet myself. He’s had some good seasons but hasn’t averaged over 4 yards per carry in a couple years. Last year was a career worst for him at 3.2.

Thompson will be good. I do think his size will limit his touches. Similar to how Darren Sproles career was extended because he was basically only a 3rd down back his entire career.
You knew he couldn’t handle 20 touches a game. But he could handle 10 and they’d all be explosive touches.

@BShark I’m happy after decades of the chiefs trading or signing a back up/ guy that had been benched. They finally used a high draft pick for a QB. I’m not sure I could name all the guys in that category. Montana, Erbac, Bono, Gannon, Green, Cassel and Smith. “Doing the samething over and over while expecting a different result is insanity”

@Kcmatt7 Here’s breakdown of the KC backfield. Thompson is getting all of the goal line carries, and is taking half the snaps with the first team the last two weeks.

KC has options at running back. Each guy can do something a little different. That should limit the wear and tear on everyone, which means those guys should all be ready to go come January when this stuff matters.

I stand by my statement. I think Thompson will do most of his work in 2-minute and 3rd down situations. He’ll see 9-10 touches a game.

@Kcmatt7 probably because instead of starting for the Chiefs (admittedly a dumpster fire at the time) he chose to be a backup in Dallas. But I didn’t bring him up and actually wanted him back for another year in KC. It would’ve been better than what they got.

@Kcmatt7 I’m pretty okay with lumping every QB between Green and Mahomes together. And obviously Mahomes is on another planet compared to Green but Green was good.

He did his job perfectly.
He played well enough that he got Romeo hired. Caused them to be so bad next year that we got Romeo fired and were able to go get Andy. (Also we landed Kelce in that 2013 draft with Fisher).
Think about that for a second @BShark…
Also Alex Smith was good here. Andy was a big reason, but Alex was good.

After watching all the wildly incompetent quarterback play for years, Alex was a breath of fresh air. Mahomes is transcendent though.

@jayballer73 It wasn’t pulled. The CBS production truck lost power. NFL Network Redzone explained that no broadcast feed was coming from Jax, so they didn’t have any highlights in the last few mins of the 4th quarter.

well what the announcers said when they switched on our local channel - they said let’s go to a more competitive game , on our local station channel 13 what ever affilation that is - - ABC - – NBC - - CBS - -whatever one that is - they didn’t say anything about losing power - - just said they were switching to a more competitive game

Rumor is an NFC and an AFC team reached out to the Jags about Ramsey. The NFC team (not sure who) offered a 1st and a 5th round pick. The AFC team (I believe to be the Chiefs Shelborn would be a terrible poker player) offered a first round pick and a player. The offers were declined and countered with two first round picks. I wonder if someone will step up and pay the price or if the Chiefs can continue to bolster their secondary? Can they make the money work with Mahomes due for a pay raise soon or would be be a rental?
