Still think we should be after Bobbi Klintmann. Kid can really shoot it at his size. 6"8 with tools to work with.

Don’t think we need to fill this position though. I think the only real possible need is another guard.
-
Yeah I can see that. I agree about needing a guard but I’d rather find a scoring option through the portal tbh.

And who out of Jalen Wilson, Christian Braun, Gradey Dick, MJ Rice, or Zuby Ejiofor is he better than? He’s not a need and KU can find prospects like that in every class or the portal if they need that in a class.
I’m going to disagree with others that say KU needs another guard because unless someone transfers, KU’s going to have 4 on the roster next season (Harris, Yesufu, Pettiford, and Cuffe). KU needs a low post player that can score because Udoh and Adams aren’t offensive threats at all and Clemence is a face up player.
-
Out of the 4 guards you listed who do you trust to make a shot from anywhere. Limited bunch imo from what we have seen this yr. Cuffe being an unknown but film on him as a Sophomore was more of a defensive pest with elite athleticism.
If Jalen and Braun return then I agree he isn’t a need. If one or both leave then it’s a different discussion. Shown some really good shooting this year for Sunrise.
The best shooter on this team next yr could be a freshman which I’m not sure is a recipe for success
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 It’s going to be very difficult to add a post player if the roster has Udeh, Zach, KJ, Zuby, Cam Martin and JWill. Just from a numbers perspective that is a lot of post players even if JWill is more of a perimeter post player/big guard. I wouldn’t mind adding such a player, but I think it would require processing someone. That Bill didn’t try to add this kind of player last off-season to give us anything behind Dave was somewhat baffling.
I do think JWill is still leaving though, from what I have heard.
Cuffe is at a minimum another year away. Will be interesting to see what he decides to do.
Bill talked about wanting to sign 5 in the fall and all the missed targets were guards and for the most part bigger guards. Seems to be something they are after we will have to see if it comes to fruition.

Believe that Braun will be back.
Hopefully continued development from Dajuan, Bobby and Joe. Bill definitely isn’t benching Dajuan and sees Bobby as a big part of the future of the program so I do think we are rolling with those 3 as the rotation for the 2 guard spots.
Next year I think they will have to hang their hat on defense. Might take a bit to be good but I like the athletes we are bringing in.

I just don’t think IF J alen does stay I just don’t think you ever try to play him at the 5 - -just a really bad fit with his defense all your gonna do is get him a quick hook because of foul trouble and having to set and taking a scoring option away from us - -If Jalen does stay he needs to stay where he is much better we need point production and you not getting any benefit from him on either end of the court if you play him at the 5 - -foul trouble on the defensive end and have a hard time trying to score over the top of athletic bigs on the offensive end
I know I’m in the minority by far with Cam BUT I would really like to see him at least gt some kind of a chance next year .I know people say he isn’t athletic enough but hell we got that problem now got talent but not that teir athlete - would love to see him pull opposition out of the lane stretch the floor - I know won’t happen but wish they would at least give him a look. - - they finally gave Joe a look - -hell give Cam a legit chance /minutes a game turn him loose let him play - but anyway

@BShark Jalen in the draft? Or transfer?

Last I heard was professional basketball of some sort. I think if he came back to college it would just be staying at KU.
-
KU is recruiting 7footer Adrame Diongue who plays HS Ball in Arizona. Only played basketball 3 yrs. Has interest in KU. A real development type with upside especially on defense. Texas, Tech, Illinois and FSU are also involved so power 5 interest for sure here
-
Limited video out there but definitely needs a strength and conditioning program. Tall and athletic. Seems a bit away skill wise given he is new to the game
-
He’s full of energy and effort…

Huh, surprised they’re on a HS big at this point. If they take one more I still think it’ll be portal.
-
I agree it’s looking like a young roster that I think could use a vet sprinkled in there
-
@FarmerJayhawk Staff has been on him for quite awhile. Maybe Bill wants to go back to 2 posts lol.
-
@BShark Ha I’m all for going back to 2 bigs if what we are rolling out there is athletic 7 footers who are going to dunk everything.
-
I wonder if he senses a KJ or Zach transfer? We’re good in the 4/5 spot now, with who’s coming in next year, right?
-
I think you can get away with young big guys, as long as you have enough to survive foul trouble. Pretty sure we would trade Dave for Udeh and Mitch for Zuby today if it were possible. I don’t think they need a vet in the post for next season.
-
Just on video out there I don’t see how Adrame would factor in here next season. He’s all development, redshirt etc likely wherever he goes.
I’m good with rolling with the collection of young bigs we have/have coming. Can’t recruit that many Top 100 kids just to sit behind vets. Time for a change of the guard. Reminds me of the situation Self ran into when he had to trust Devon Dotson at PG. This situation in the post is that. Have to trust that the young guys will step up and there will be enough separation to create rotations

You talking like kinda of Gonzaga with Timme & Holgrem Bshark?

3* with this top 8. I lol’d.
-
@BShark lol with that list there is also some bag dropping going on.
Fwiw I thought the limited video showed he could really run for a dude his size length. I’d be very happy with him being the 12th or 13th Scholly

Well, he is at Compass Prep too, so yeah.
And we have certainly had much worse at the last couple roster spots. I don’t see how he would play next year but I’d rather have him on the roster than Cam Martin.
-
Self said KU is pretty much done for HS Recruiting. Focus will be on portal in spring
-
@BeddieKU23 Makes sense to me. Only thing I can see wanting is a guard, or a wing depending on how some things break.
-
@BShark did we all know Bobby hurt his groin and asked to come out last pm? Wondering if that was true?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 He has been hurt this whole time.

I wouldn’t say hes been hurt this whole time

Amaree Abram ended up at Ole Miss. Guess he didn’t want to end up at a place that wins

Was told athletically he was not KU level fwiw. Will probably struggle in the SEC.

Auburn will be the favorite to land him it seems.
-
Let’s ya know what kind of recruitment he’s got going on…
-
Out of the LSU class Devin Ree is the one that always caught my eye. Tremendous athlete with size to play that 4 spot. Not leaving the South though I’d imagine
-
Couple of CB’s for Judah Mintz to Depaul. Weird one…
-
Recent Decommits in the 22 class
Aidan Shaw- 4 star forward that was committed to Missouri. KU did recruit him
Julian Phillips- 5 star forward backed off his LSU pledge
Tyrell Ward- 4 star SF backed off his Xavier pledge
Bryce Lindsay- 3 star Combo Guard backed off his South Carolina pledge (regarded as one of the top shooters in the class)
Devin Ree- 4 star forward backed off his LSU pledge.
