Isaiah Moss, a target again!
-
If this happens… I’m glad we missed on all the other targets. Isaiah Moss has plenty of D1 experience. Watch the video. What impresses me most is how easy he makes scoring look. You won’t find many in college making it look this easy.
Add Jalen Wilson and many will put us as a preseason #1. This time, I might agree with them!

Clearly has some game. Yes please.

I think he would start.

@BShark If Moss came, it would be a line up of Dotson, Moss, Garrett, DeSousa, and Doke and Agbaji would be coming off the bench.

I think Ochai starts over Garrett. I think he’s more valuable as a Swiss Army knife off the bench than a starter.

So anybody have an idea when we may hear from moos and/or Wilson?

Wilson announces Wednesday. Moss idk when but KU
-
@BShark Thanks So, you’re saying its basically a done deal with Moss to KU
-
@Bosthawk believe so yes
-
Goodness … Dotson, Moss, Agbaji, SDS, Doke? With Wilson, McCormack, Garrett off the bench? If Self pulls this off, the guy deserves incredible credit given the adversity created by the Adidas deal.
Moss is more important than Wilson for 2019. Way more important recruiting wise to fill a necessary hole.

Strongly agree. Want both though.

Hampton? Walker? Nah …
“The biggest skill that Moss brings to the table is the ability to create his own offense. When you look at the Hawkeye offense, there aren’t many guys who can take defenders off the dribble. There was a reason that when the shot clock ran down that the Hawkeyes would look for Moss, so he could get off a shot. The 6-foot-5 guard out of Chicago has a smooth game. He looks comfortable on the court and everything is fluid.”
“The other thing about Moss’ offensive game is his ability to score in transition. He was without a doubt Iowa’s best scorer on the fast break. He has soft hands and never panics on the break. It’s where he is most comfortable at and he’s capable of finishing with either hand. He can also break down defenders on the dribble and get to the rim.”
-
So why have i seen blurbs that Iowa fans weren’t very sad to see him go?
-
@RockkChalkk he is their Selden
-
@drgnslayr I’ve been whining ever since he visited, and we didn’t offer him. I think he’s dynamite- he is the perfect addition to our back court.
-
@RockkChalkk Are we upset that Q is gone?
My personal opinion is he wanted to get away from his angry coach. Frannie has a long history dating back to 2006 for complete melt downs. Last year, he chased down the refs, and cussed them out after a 20 point loss.

No doubt his son contracting cancer back in 2013/2014 caused their family a ton of stress and angst. That said, I think I can safely say that Fran McCaffery is the angriest, most emotionally out of control coach in college basketball. I’ll bet he’s a total pain in the ass to play for. The only time you hear about Iowa basketball is when he has one of his infamous emotional breakdowns. I don’t blame Moss a bit not wanting to be around that kind of energy all the time.

I understand what your saying buddy and your not going hear my bitchin about him a bit if he comes for sure. - – However every thing you listed is Kyree Walker three fold: -Create own offense - - ummm check , - - - -take defenders off the dribble – - umm double check , – - - -Smooth-- -ummm without a doubt - - – -breaking down defenders and FINISHING at the rim - - - BIG TIME - - serious - - -serious hops - - - -this kid is a freak — -but was looking like he isn’t going to make the grade anyways - wouldn’t be able to re-classify this year is what I heard , or at least was looking that way.
Perfectly happy if Moss lands here , although I heard he STILL has some business to take care of himself before he can land here or anywhere - -but should be able to get that wrapped up.
As far as Kyree staying put in 2020 - -don’t like our chances as much for that year - - but we shall see. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

I get the feeling Moss was on a stale team. Put him with a team where many players can score in their positions and WOW! He’ll be free (all year) to go 1-on-1 on offense… I expect him to have a big year!
-
You know guys we have all been talking Moss coming here and where and when he should be playing - -that’s great - sounds really good , would love that. Thing is ever since he made his announcement he was re-opening his recruitment - unless I’ve missed it – I have Yet to see , hear, read anything from Moss himself , mentioning any schools he might be looking our or considering - I haven’t heard a peep out of his mouth directly about ANYTHING since him saying he was re-opening his recruitment.
I haven’t heard him say anything about any visits anywhere - - I haven’t heard say ONE thing about KU - just nothing - -total silence from him. - -Nothing off his twitter Nothing. - -I’ve seen people trying to get him just stay at Iowa , I don’t think that is happening but just off his account I read that.
Might be a good idea and just chill and wait for a minute till he at least says something this time - - ANYTHING where the words KU comes out of his mouth directly. - -Sure Goodman can say what he feels - -Friscilla can say what he wants - -BUT what does Moss want - we don’t know, cause he hasn’t revealed any plans this time - -just sayin
-
I love this gif someone posted on Moss’s twitter… AFH beckons, Isaiah…

Matt Tait says he committed to us. RC

HUGE.
-
I’m psyched! And he comes prepped for physical play of the Big 10! He’s ready to go!
-
-
@KUSTEVE - Wow. I’m ready for a 60 game season, starting NOW!
-
-
After the NBA draft and Grimes’s transfer, Coach’s statement “We’ll get some guys,” still resonates with me.
-
@BShark Like I’ve said for awhile now, Enaruna is bigtime. So is Braun and McBride.

I don’t know about that yet. I think all three have a lot to work on before they are potentially real P5 players. Each of them can shoot it though, which is a good start. Enaruna might have an NBA ceiling, other two do not.
-
I am really excited about Enaruna as a multi-year player. We’ll see how he develops and fills out with Andrea but I like his potential. Same thing with McBride. Need to see how Braun looks playing against players with D1 speed and athleticism, but if he can handle it his shooting and height could make him an important player down the road.
-
On Moss I would have to assume (yes I’m a bit slow on the uptake) that grimes leaving made him reconsider Arkansas and come here… plus playing for KU vs Arkansas is (ahem) shall we say an upgrade
-
@Bosthawk Plus he never has to even fake yelling that woo pig sooey stuff. Disturbing. I’m still sure that’s why Dana Altman had a change of heart … heard that at the press conference and said, uh, no.

He’s a freaking iowa suckeye? And i’m gonna have to cheer for him if he comes?
-
@wissox yes and yes

He’s signed now, fwiw.
-
@wissox The Iowa coach is also daddy to a real mediocre player ( his son) who plays on the team. And the coach would pull Moss for his son ( who shoots 20% from 3 ) at the end of games. I don’t blame him a bit for wanting to get out of that 3 ring circus.
-
@BShark Been traveling the west. Spotty service and climbing mountains has given me little time to check up on what’s going on. The original thread made it look like he might come, thus my ‘if he comes’ comment.

Yes, you nailed it! We badger fans like to say he had a “frantrum”. He’s a fool and there’s a reason why Iowa hasn’t made the 2nd weekend since the last millenium.
