Fletcher Magee is a bonafide matchup nightmare for us. Attempting over 10 3’s a game and while his efficiency is down a little this season he’s by far the best shooter KU will have faced to date outside of Markus Howard. In that game we had Dotson to guard him (who did a fantastic job) and that’s unlikely going to happen in this game with Magee a SG, so its a huge concern how we’ll cover this one. Garrett might be busy again
-
You would think a school with a mascot of terriers would be called woofers, not wofford but whatever.
-
@BeddieKU23 maybe, just maybe this will be grimes one job and will help bring him out of his funk. Just playing D always helps your O.
-
I’m predicting a loss on this one.
-
@BShark you always do, get out of here!

If your predictions equal wins, keep em coming
-
@BShark If you ever hit 20% on your predictions, I’ll notify you. Sidenote: you’ve got a long way to go.
-
I think I am 4-2 on predictions so far…
-
@BShark 4-2? I was thinking you were 0-6…my bad.

Wofford has a couple of guards that can score. Their big man will likely have trouble with our bigger guys inside, so it is basically on their guards to carry them. If they are hot, they can stay in it. If their guards are not hot, though, it could get ugly quick.

It’s really obvious how these teams are going to match up.
Dotson - Murphy
Vick - Hoover
Grimes - Magee
Dedric - Jackson
Doke - Aluma
I might consider putting Vick on Magee, but Nathan Hoover is also going to be a problem. Hoover is shooting 51% (25/49) from 3 this season. Wofford attempts 28.3 3-pointers per game (25th in D1) and makes 38.2% of them (55th in D1). Wofford is a good team and KU needs to play like they played in Half 2 against Marquette if they are going to win.

This bad boy was assembled in Greer, South Carolina; First BMW model fully assemble outside Germany…
-
@BeddieKU23 I think Markus Howard of Marquette is a similar player. He’s not as long as Magee but he is quicker and overall a better talent (shorter but gets more rebounds and is superior in passing with ease) IMO. It’s odd that we haven’t won a game by more than 16 to date but I think we have played a good schedule and thats a big reason why. I think we should’ve beat Stanford by 15 but we played terrible and they played easily their best game to date. I like the Hawks in this one by 21. I think Vick gets going a little earlier and Grimes breaks out of his mini slump.
-
They beat Frank Martin’s South Carolina team by 20 on their own court.

Sorry, but can’t get to it. I’ve used up all my free articles with the Star. Can you summarize?
-
@Gorilla72 Clear your cookies. The tracking software will be erased and you can start viewing articles again.
-
@dylans I used to do that quite successfully, but some paywall sites seem to have figured out a way to defeat the ploy. KC Star was one. But the limits are per month (used to be 10, now @3 I think), so they do get reset eventually.
I don’t know how they defeat it, unless they plant a cookie that has attributes of one you would choose to keep, such as settings or something.
I haven’t experimented to figure it out too much. Star ain’t worth it since Joe P left.
-
@mayjay I just don’t read that rag very often. My cell phone has no issues with the cookies. I suppose it has different IP addresses depending on the WiFi hookup and maybe network (different towers?) It could be they are storing the IP address at their server and cutting you off that way. If that’s the case a VPN software changing your IP address could help. I haven’t had issues, so I’m not sure.
-
Doesn’t work for me.
-
@dylans I think it is a McClatchy thing–our idiot 24-page-average (6 entirely advertising) local paper does the same. I cancelled my home delivery subsc when they raised the base rate to literally over $1,100 per year (includes nonoptional “enhanced” digital access). They claimed it was a massive 60% discount to offer me a rate of $40/month. 3 articles per month limit now even clearing cookies. Most articles are wire service anyway, and I can get local news on the TV websites. Can get comics individually, so eff 'em, I say!

@mayjay The Star was/(is ?) Running a special on the online stuff for next to nothing. I didn’t jump on it, because the free articles are enough for me. The Wichita Eagle runs many of the same articles too.
