Is this why people like @crimsonorblue and @highelitemajor dislike the KC Star?

You are taking two numbers and looking at them out of context. Look at my posts on the other threads and you will see the numbers are not that unreasonable or out of the norm.

@DoubleDD Ask Fran!

“And if so, is it out of line considering that only six of West Virginia’s 61 field-goal attempts were at the rim?”
Shooting fouls create more FTA.
Fact.
Story of our non-conference games. Self set out to change our approach and increase our FTA’s. It has been referenced nearly every pre-game the change in Devonte’s FTA.

The FT disparity looks bad in a really close game. That’s not something we can argue. If we had that type of disparity against us, we would be upset, so I get where WVU is coming from.
-
@Buster-1926 He goes overboard to prove that he isn’t biased for KU. Super weird.

Exactly - - no more needs to be said then just that. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

It’s kinda funny I was just checked Dooks box scores for this year and they have shot more fts in all but 3 games. Several games they shot over 40 fts to a team that shot single digits, you’ll never see an article on ESPN questioning this but to say KU is the only school or the most likely school to get called is a load crap.
-
@kjayhawks good looking out!
-
@kjayhawks Yep I mentioned this. I saw one +30 FTA game and a couple more close to that.
-
I actually forgot WV not only missed a front end but also had 2 lane violations so they messed up 3 of their own attempts to start with.

Somebody looked up the teams ahead of us, need to find that.

Per @kenpomeroy KU has the 38th best home foul advantage in recent seasons.
I have a KP account. I looked it up. I’m pretty sure I’m on the right page. So what B12 teams get friendlier calls at home than KU?

BUT BUT BUT ASK FRAN

I would argue that Huggins is neither a “terrific coach” nor does he possess “one of the country’s great dry senses of humor”. I would characterize him as sarcastic and insulting, but not a person with a witty and dry sense of humor.
-
@SlickRockJayhawk He is a boorish drunk.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 , where does KP have UT, TCU and Baylor?
-
@Gorilla72 that’s all the info the guy posted. Maybe someone here has more info!
-
I am not sure how it is factored that KU has typically has led towards the end of games and opponents fouled on purpose. Remember how OU fouled Doke repeatedly and on purpose towards the end of game in Norman?
-
@JayHawkFanToo That, plus I would love to know why no one has presented the notion that some coaches (not surprisingly, the ones of consistently highly ranked teams) recruit more agile and quicker players, and are wizards at teaching them to play without fouling as much as lesser players. So, it would be nice to see how the whistle list correlates over time to season rankings or standings.
Concluding KU gets “friendlier” whistles at home in conference play means nothing if not controlling for us likely having better teams than the Nine Stooges we have trampled for 13 conference seasons.

Absolutely correct. Without context it is the same as citing the famous…or it is it infamous? 35-2 FTA numbers.

WVU and OSU have loud fans right on top of you (similar to KU) it’s easy for the refs to get caught up in the emotion of the game. ISU and KSU have super loudly whiny fans. Hell ISU fans are complaining about KU getting calls right now. Eventually the refs will think they missed a call and you get phantom makeup calls as well as them buying into the emotion of the game - crowd goes wild when a call goes against the visitor. I don’t pay enough attention to TTU basketball to know what they have going for them other than Evans.

Stopped looking at the thread I started. Those are numbers from all D1 programs? That’s pretty interesting that ISU is #1. Does it explain its’ methodology? I’d imagine it’s a little difficult to quantify because sometimes the hometeam gets calls that are correct so it’s not really a home court thing…
Since I’m not a subscriber, would you be willing to look at UW’s rankings as well as MIchigan States? Thanks!
