@FarmerJayhawk Really. I thought that shipped had sailed.
Well, he isn’t coming to KU.

@BShark barring a spot coming open if Hurt decides early for not-KU

At this point I would expect McBride ends up in the Top 100 especially if he signs with KU… SOP for recruiting services LOL.
If Braun is the shooter he looks on video I can see why he’s that high. at 6’6 he won’t be over-matched.
You aren’t wrong about that. I do think he is legitimately good though and was underranked big time because of his previous AAU situation that I mentioned before (insanely stacked team). I believe he would be a great fit to continue the 4 year developmental guard thing KU has been great at.
From what I’ve seen I agree. That’s the good part about services doing periodic updates, they can evaluate and assess players they might have missed or ones that play really well at certain events and carry that momentum forward. McBride looks like a player that would work his tail off here, I think he’d be a quality addition especially for future years. I hope we land him. I trust the staff’s evaluation of him, they certainly have earned that after years of finding players like this.

Achiuwa is one of my favorite’s in the class. His best basketball is ahead of him and his ranking could actually be underselling how good he’s going to be down the road. Long-term I think he’s a top 5 player in this class. He has the size and physicality that fits the new era of the NBA.
At KU he could play multiple positions on both sides which is scary at his size. He’s very good around the rim. He can make perimeter shots. I hope he doesn’t land somewhere KU has to play him. I’m not expecting he leaves the east…

He is freakishly good.
Kai Jones is too, I just fear KU got involved too late there…
-
Not only that I think Jones wants to land somewhere he can start as a freshman. The two visits he’s scheduled (FSU, Cuse) have that path for him. FSU pushed for a commitment from him because they need bigs. My friend says Cuse is giving him a similar pitch. KU is in this, its just going to be a matter of how the pieces fall on the board when he’s ready to decide. I hope we get him on campus I do see this one as a wildcard if they do
-
-
UNC gets Josh Green for an official visit same weekend as JRE… They are friends and this isn’t coicidence
-
Oh man I would love to land Wiseman just for the delicious tears of UK fans. And them claiming that Cal “must have quit recruiting him. Dollar Bill and Adidas pay off another one.”

Interesting. I wouldn’t hate landing Jones and missing one of Hurt or JRE one bit.

KU going to see Cassius Stanley. They’re really a player here.

Cool story

I’d drop an ang3l level bet on this. I don’t see Nike letting him get away. Feels like to me KU coaches have been visiting a lot of kids they have almost no chance at.
Stanley fills a huge need and would be a great addition though.
-
The staff feels like they’re in it as long as they get a visit. Which should happen. SC is probably still the favorite but it’s not a total lock like the CB would have everyone believe

You know , I was just kind of thinking the same thing the other day. – Wiseman ? – Umm no - - -Stanley - - - Umm No - - I think Stanley stays on the Coast - - I think Wiseman is pretty much just like has been said - - Memphis - -Kentucky probably ( Memphis ) - - I think from a players perspective these are more just giving the Coach respect for in home visit - -nothing serious
On a sperate note, Kentucky media and fans are sure becoming believing they are becoming more solidly now in the Lead for Hurt - -and sure looks like Nnaji about wet all over himself when they offered if you make anything out of the way his daddy or whoever he is talked. A lot of people seem to think with him helps lure Hurt as they thinking they will probably need 4-5 bigs next year. - -WHY am I not worried about Kentucky for Hurt call me thick but I’m JUST NOT. - I think with Matthew getting to play for Coach this summer I think that will go along ways. – Got to see how he Coach’s gall me stupid BUT I think we STILL sit really nice with him. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

KU is leading for Hurt. He may wait until spring but KU can lock him down when he visits for a game.
-
Waiting until Spring is a great and smart move for the kids but I’m glad that a couple of KU’s major targets appear to be eyeing fall decisions.
I’m not remotely worried about Hurt or this class in general yet. Now if we start seeing a string of misses then I might get some 2017 flashbacks. The staff definitely appears to be casting a wide net.
-
Stanley a fall or spring commit?

I thought I replied to this already but my phone must have dropped it’s connection when I hit submit…
Anyway I think GT could be his fallback school if Memphis and KU pass. I hope he ends up at KU though, for reasons I have already mentioned.

I believe Ole Miss is on him as well right?

Yes and Florida.
I still believe if KU wants him and pushes for a commitment, he ends up in Lawrence.

The next few months should be interesting to see how things unfold.

Indeed. KU is circling back around to a lot of recruits I thought they quit recruiting like Stanley and Achiuwa.
-
Any top 100 player and even many well below that will receive lots of attention from lots of programs. Look at Markese Jacobs…after he decommited from KU he received a number of offers from P5 programs even when he is not even a top 100 player at this time. It is really not surprising that the top players get numerous offers even from programs that do not have a chance but hope for a miracle. As fans we are spoiled because regardless who the prospect is, KU will always have a decent shot by virtue of being an elite program.
-
Zach Harvey moving back to 2020. Too early to tell if KU will pick things back up.
-
Surprised by the move. I’d imagine that ship has sailed
-
@BeddieKU23 I think it’s a good move for him, especially if he wants to end up at a bigger program like KU. The extra year of development can help a lot.

Like they say this might be a VERY good move for him - he had dropped some , give him time to rebound back , also this whole scenario that came to light will be over with by 2020 and hell he might be cleared or whatever by that time and not have that hanging over his head.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if KU didn’t re-invest in him for 2020 only time wi;; tell but I think you might see them picking back up their interest by then. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Here is the deal for me - the way I would look at it IF I were the recruit - my thought process and I guess I’m the lone stone in the grass if it were me - -anyways this would be me:
If I were a recruit and if I had stated like that a school was my dream school , then I received an offer from that school? - - Game over - -done - -finished- -others don’t bother.- -Like my case would be KU. -If KU was my dream school and they had interest in me - -and they offered I don’t care who else did - -ANYBODY period.
My reasoning? - -I mean why waste other schools time? - I know this is the school I want , why drag it on - I would want to be done so I could focus on my Senior year and not be bothered with the distractions - I would make PERFECTLY CLEAR I had chose my school. Better for them too they could focus elsewhere. - -I don’t need to take anymore visits. My Point didn’t Williamson say KU was his dream school? - -I don’t really understand - -unless he just isn’t as sold on us as what we thought? - - Me as a recruit - - would be easy - for them - -for me - -for the other schools. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Well I see ol stumpy got Nico Manion to commit - -wonder how he will screw him up lol. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Losing Sam Williamson to Louisville would be rough.

ARE WE LOSING Sam Williamson? - -to Louisville?

@jayballer73 Sure looks like it. Louisville people think it’s done.

Duke lost Josiah James as well. Looks like we’re both going down in a blaze of glory

Ya I saw that. After I read your post I looked at 247 sports and saw 3 CB’S for him including Evan Daniels - -Then this morning got up and saw two more including Andrew Slater. - -WTF? - - -things not looking good… I had read a poster from another site that said he had told people that Self had pissed Williamson’s mom off if that’s true - -that’s really sweet…
Same poster also said that Hurt & JRE are far from locks , and i’m having a tendency to agree - have been hearing that UK is really making a push for Hurt and closing in and closing fast - -Like Betty said turning into a dumpster fire - - this sucks if it turns out. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Losing Capel hurt them. Both will be okay though lol.

Losing Williamson is on the staff, no other way around it. Kid is one of the best shooters in the country and I think is a player just starting to realize what he can become. Louisville deserves credit for out recruiting Self here.
If we whiff on JRE then its time to hit the panic button. It’s been trending this way anyway since the summer. Certainly doesn’t look like we have a clue what’s going on either from a fan’s perspective
-
2019 outlook for Duke right now looks bad.

Sounds like Self misread and misplayed a couple situations. In recruiting that can bite you. Not closing Williamson with all his ties to the program is pretty bad no doubt about it.
I’m not even sure where they turn now, there are no good realistic options at the 2/3. The staff was pretty all-in on Williamson. Braun is nowhere near an adequate replacement.

He may not be that adequate replacement but he might be the only choice at this stage - and that’s sad. - Same way on the Big’s GOD forbid we lose JRE and that could very easily happen - -and then If UK ends up taking Hurt? - - - gives a bad look for our staff this year - - who you going to replace them with? – Sure sounds like the staff screwed up with Williamson
-
@jayballer73 There are at least other options KU has kept recruiting in terms of bigs.
-
-
No worries. Coach Self will pull a rabbit from the hat and an Ace from the sleeve…he always does and this is why KU wins so much.
-
Wing wasn’t a huge need anyway. Williamson wouldn’t have even started if KJ was still around. Ochai has been really impressive so far as well. Come on down, Braun.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Except for when he doesn’t and KU has some leaner years. Last couple years have been great though and I am not too worried here tbh.
Non-KU related, WSU got a PG commit: https://247sports.com/Player/Noah-Fernandes-46046890/
Very good tough player, underrated. Should fit in well with them.

If KJ was still around? Is he confirmed leaving or something? I figured there is a good chance he will be back.
Ochai is going to be a dude.

Oops. Typo. Damn autocorrect.

@FarmerJayhawk Ah okay, that makes more sense. I hope KJ sticks around.
