Bam Adebayo

Chose Kentucky. Everyone is saying it was between UK and KU but I didn’t even really think KU was after him that hard.
-
KU was not involved. NC St was the team most associated with him, every report said he was a lean there and his good friend 5* PG Dennis Smith committed a while back.
Calipari proves once again that he can get whoever he wants no matter how many guys are signed to play his position. That’s now what 4 guys??
-
@RockkChalkk Gotta say I’m honestly surprised. I hadn’t paid too much attention, but I thought for sure NC State was gonna close with him. Not that it really we were really hard after him.
@BeddieKU23 It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out because Marcus Lee is looking like a 4 year guy, and Humph is likely a 3-4 year kid as well. One of Lee, Humph, Gabriel, Wynyard, or Jones won’t be playing much next season. Gabriel would have been smart to go to Duke.
What is salient, however, is that this is likely to put us in pole position with Jarret Allen. That should be very welcomed news as we’re apparently still lagging Florida State and possibly UNC for Azubuike. We are back on top with Bolden too, but that position is still a little shaky. Bolden is expected to go in the next month or so. Hope we can close on him. He’s my favorite big man in the class. Allen, however, would give us another Bragg-esque presence and that’s nothing to sneeze at.

@BeddieKU23 Kentucky signing 3 bigs and guard fits with their projected losses for this year. Poythress is graduating, Labissiere, Briscoe, and Murray are presumed OAD’s and Marcus Lee is always projected high despite being a colossal bust to this point. Malik Monk is still very much in play for Kentucky, but Adebayo’s signing probably significantly deters Jarrett Allen from signing with Kentucky though.
-
@konkeyDong Hey bud, you may have just answered my question. I was coming on to see how Bam, Adebayo signing with Kentucky, how that would effect us with Allen? I read and yes I know some people do not give 247 any credence but I still check out the site, and it seems to lean to the same thing you are saying, it is showing about all predictors showing Jarrett Allen to us now, which is good, I do realize that IF this indeed turns out then indeed looks like Azubuike is out, kinda wanted him but from what I’ve heard Allen is pretty good player also. So I’m asking you again IF Allen does indeed come are we better with him then we would of been with Azubuike? just asking guys, cause I’m honestly don’t know, help me out. Also IF Allen does come does that effect us with Bolden? Then lastly guys I know a lot of people think we have no shot but I feel we do and I feel some people could be really surprised I’ve been sayin this all along, I feel we have just as much chance as anyone else on landing Josh Jackson I know it is a wide open but Arizona has lost a lot of ground, pretty much Arizona, Michigan State and KU we shall see. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

No $urpri$e. Calipari get$ hi$ man.
-
Helps KU just by elimination factors. The kid says little, doesn’t like attention so its really hard to tell with him. Nobody has any credibal info who he is leaning too. I think the local schools are still his favorites. Houston allows him to keep out of the spotlight, Texas is in his backyard. If he does want to go out of State then KU has a chance. Bolden obviously affects his decision as well.
-
Wouldn’t read into the flock now picking KU. There’s zero information from his camp… most flocked to Kentucky when he visisted now that they took the higher rated player they flock to the next biggest school. There’s a good chance he never leaves the state.
-
There’s always a chance Cal tries to make Gabriel a Big SF. This signing really baffles me and they have Willis who has come out of no where as a Junior to a rotation spot so that’s yet another post player we are all forgetting. Lee will leave and become the next Daniel Orton, its clear to me his decision has been made for him.
-
@jayballer54 Jarrett Allen is a consensus top 20 player and Udoka Azubuike doesn’t have a consistent range of rankings. Allen is a better player Azubuike, but like @BeddieKU23 said, it’s more likely that Allen stays in state than comes to KU. I personally would put Texas as the front runner for Allen at this point.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 At this point I would actually think a KU or Notre Dame lean. He has already taken all but one official visit. Probably one of those spring signees that Bill closes on.

and the rich get richer, Malik Monk commits to Kentucky
