I keep hearing how we hammered Missouri and we did the same thing to Louisville which was to keep them down by 12 or so points it wasn't hammering but we guarded them and made it tough for them to go on runs. We guarded ND and Tennessee and held them 15-20 points below average. NC and Duke kept us at arms length the same way but not getting hammered. UConn was when we only made five second half baskets. We guarded Uconn too. Even Hurley was perplexed with the result.

@wissox83 yeah Fran is still the barely masked hero of the universe, pint size edition. it comes out when he gets excited. he gets confused about the difference between Bill Self and himself.
-
NCST top 6 players average 45.6% on three balls.
-
@BeddieKU23 Yeah that comp doesn't make much sense at all for how either of them has played. I'm never expecting Jamari to be a star at this point but as you said, fine as a role guy/ball mover.
-
@Tallturd1 that’s a lot of 3 shooters and they all play a lot of minutes. I just saw an article about their coach was going off on them for being soft. They’re a pretty good team and he is going to have them fired up. I’m guessing this will be a strong test of our road toughness.

Do we have one who is within 10% of that??? And why do we seem to have difficulty in recruiting guys who can make shots from the arc???

@DCHawker what's Tre?

So, yes, he is over 40%. So is DP (small sample). As a team we are at 33%. As HSBC has noted, we really need to be around 35-37%.
-
between Mari, Tiller and maybe Dawson if he figures it out, it seems like 35-37% could happen.

@approxinfinity Would be shocked if JD entered the rotation at this point
-
lol @crimsonblu22 ..
got his wish. 🪦 -
@BShark yeah. its hard to say never, given how much we force Rylan minutes last year. We'll see.

They also talk crap about Fran

Looking a little more at NCState. They have 3 losses against the only teams that are major teams they've played. Their 3% is noticably lower in 2 of those 3 losses, around 30%. Against Texas they shot 48% but at a relatively low volume going 9-19. They've feasted on an easier schedule. Home court will give them a boost of course, but we should be all right otherwise.

@wissox83 btw i created an nc st thread

@approxinfinity The most recent updates are great. favicon is back, and the red dot on the unread is back

Things seem to be settling down. Happy to offer support with anything if you need.
-
@bskeet nice, thanks. favicon has been flaky for me, my chrome still shows the wrong one, but I tried to set it.

We haven't allowed a team to break into the 30% range I don't think so maybe we can mitigate that. We are shooting a respectable 34% which is our best in a while. We have averaged 7.1 3 balls made this year which can go up to 9 with DP back. He opens things up.

I'm excited to see us play NC-State. I do business with a lot of Wolfpack grads... so we better win! It will come down to perimeter defense, and with the speed we have we just need to put in a solid effort to limit their 3 percentage.
Tiller - I'm not expecting him to heat up from 3 soon, unless some things change. As I'm thinking back to the Duke game where he got hot, I think that was from the top of the key, where he usually isn't taking 3s now. He has an issue on his shot. When he catches the ball from a side, he makes it one motion with his shot. Even though it will take just an extra split-second... he needs to gather a bit. Bring the ball into his body, align on the basket, then go up and shoot. If he learns that, he will become a solid 3 shooter. I just don't see it right now with his current method.
