@Jayhawk_69 If you were watching Mizzery's post game you could see Mitchill seemed very honest and respectful while Gates I didn't have enough hankies to let use crying and whining so much.
Gates belly aching saying they had five turnovers and three of them were Mitchell' didn't understand-- -also didn't realize how you could get a double technical when his player got hit in the face , then he went on and bitching about how this was suppose to be on a neutral site then talked about how the arena was about 90/10 % UU fans , and saying this was a Missouri road game and ALL these games should be played on each others campus- - -Also saying there is absolutely no reason what so ever this series should be interrupted , should be played every year,
-
@ROCKCHALK2025 As I see it, MU left the Big 12 and shouldn't get to pretend they are entitled to games against us. They forfeited the right to play in Allen ever again. (I know...they've been allowed back already). Mostly I don't think they should get to use a game at Allen as part of their recruiting pitch.
I like a good rivalry as much as the next guy, but mostly I'd like to see Missouri just implode, shrivel up, and blow away.

Ngala is 26 so yeah this is it for College. He was insurance for injury and probably a good scout practice player to use and most importanly, cheap on the budget. Defensively he can't hang but heck id give him a shot when we need a 3 in comeback situations.
-
Fran likes to compare Mari to Garrett. I can see that as far as role player growing into something but they really are not close in skill. Mari a much better shooter and not nearly the defender at this point. Weird comp tbh.
Mari has 12 baskets, 11 from 3. Filling a key role and as long as he can do that and defend he earns his spot. We need both him and Elmarko to show the staff can still develop guys into KU guys and both are settling in and starting to show that. They definitely have skin in this having had tough redshirt years.

I didn't know much about Gates but I knew that he must have a tainted soul if he chose to coach for misery. Watching his postgame interview made me dislike him even more. He complained about the refs, complained about this being a neutral site that favored us (even though that was part of the original scheduling agreement), and advocated for the rivalry to continue without calling out the misery athletic department and requesting a return to the Big 12. Very classless.

Some day after thoughts
-Flory needs to get back to being efficient around the basket. Be strong and try to draw contact!
-Tiller is a KJ level shooter. Is KJ's strategy of just not attempting 3s, or Tillers strategy of chucking bricks when left open superior?
-Speaking of Tiller, by gum, he and Flory form a menacing front line. Both are shot-blockers who can guard the perimeter
-Maybe one day we will get to see a game where DP just plays with no strings attached. No minutes restrictions, no going to the locker room, no bugs, no sitting the whole second half, no constant cutbacks of the staff working on him on the bench. fwiw, I am not criticizing DP, just commenting on the situation.
-If we want to make noise in March, Tre White has to show up.
Agree on Flory, he's been un-flory like around the rim the past 4/5 games. Rushing shots at the rim that are not dunks.
Tiller can shoot, just in a funk. Similar to Hunter's funk last yr but hopefully he can snap out of it.
White is indispensable out there. Does so many things well that we need. His ability to just draw contact is impressive. When he's on we are not going to lose many games.
Tiller and Flory play better when they are together. I think Self has definitely figured that he gets his best lineup with the 2 bigs on both ends. The only thing missing is that 3rd big they could use as insurance. Doesn't seem like Mbiya is good enough for that despite his massive size. White was supposed to be the 4 here however he has played so much better at the wing and matchup wise he's a difficult cover. If he's gonna shoot 40% from 3, he's going to make it difficult for teams to leave him open.

+2500 on Fan Duel, 12th lowest odds right now. Not a bad line to buy.

Fran was intolerable yesterday. I watched on delay so I couldn't sync with KU radio. I mean one point he and whoever was with him was talking for minutes on end about other teams in the country and how good they were.
-
I keep hearing how we hammered Missouri and we did the same thing to Louisville which was to keep them down by 12 or so points it wasn't hammering but we guarded them and made it tough for them to go on runs. We guarded ND and Tennessee and held them 15-20 points below average. NC and Duke kept us at arms length the same way but not getting hammered. UConn was when we only made five second half baskets. We guarded Uconn too. Even Hurley was perplexed with the result.
-
@wissox83 yeah Fran is still the barely masked hero of the universe, pint size edition. it comes out when he gets excited. he gets confused about the difference between Bill Self and himself.
-
NCST top 6 players average 45.6% on three balls.
-
@BeddieKU23 Yeah that comp doesn't make much sense at all for how either of them has played. I'm never expecting Jamari to be a star at this point but as you said, fine as a role guy/ball mover.
-
@Tallturd1 that’s a lot of 3 shooters and they all play a lot of minutes. I just saw an article about their coach was going off on them for being soft. They’re a pretty good team and he is going to have them fired up. I’m guessing this will be a strong test of our road toughness.

Do we have one who is within 10% of that??? And why do we seem to have difficulty in recruiting guys who can make shots from the arc???

@DCHawker what's Tre?

So, yes, he is over 40%. So is DP (small sample). As a team we are at 33%. As HSBC has noted, we really need to be around 35-37%.
-
between Mari, Tiller and maybe Dawson if he figures it out, it seems like 35-37% could happen.
