2024 NFL Season

@rockchalkjayhawk That’s a tough blow
-
Concern with Worthy is his lack of size, he is only 160 lbs
Thus Chiefs have to be careful on how they use him on offense, he can’t be put in situations where he get many hits.
-
-
I wonder if the Chiefs bring in another deep threat WR somehow. Wouldn’t surprise me.
-
The Chiefs have 3 WRs on the practice squad, Nikko Rimigio, Justyn Ross, and Montrell Washington. I’d like to see Ross get a few weeks and just finally break out of the problems his 2 yr foot injury caused him. But it will probably be whoever shows best combo of speed and route running to give pressure opposite Worthy.
-
A few upsets today.
Ravens going down at home to Raiders.
Niners going down.
How about Saints knocking off Dak & boys.
-
Let’s go Chiefs. Please throw the ball down field in this second series.
-
@stoptheflop or this series! long game.
-
Wow.
Worthy…
Speed…
-
Nice 3rd series. Rashee Rice with the nice sidelines TD catch.
-
TOs Damn
-
2 TOs just isn’t going to work against the Bengals
-
Not lookin good
Bengals have scored on every drive
-
Bad clock management on accepting the opi
-
But maybe it works out. Don’t need to burn much clock to score and have a one point lead at half and the ball after the half.
-
Nostradamus I am not
-
Nice opening drive. Running the ball between the tackles. Got the lead, now the defense needs another 3 and out.
-
Nice drive.
Bengals scored 10 pts off TOs, let’s play a clean game now.
-
So much about playing a clean game…
-
Wow that was a great pick smh guess none of my teams can kick the turnover bug
-
Got to give him credit, great INT
-
Wow,
That was cool.
-
Nice to see Chiefs D force a TO
-
Chiefs have a problem at LT
-
Great game.
Butker…
-
Butker is quickly becoming one of the greats
-
Chiefs are 2-0 but they have to clean up a solve some issues
-
@AsadZ no question but that’s the mark of a good team. Finding ways to win when they weren’t necessarily the best on that day. Really has been a staple the last 5 years.
-
Butker is so money. I wish there had been a little less time on the clock at the end of the first half. I would like to have seen a 68 yard attempt.
-
@dylans that last kick looked like it would’ve made it from 65 yards to me
-
Butker said some controversial stuff over the summer, some of which I don’t agree with personally but man I am glad that he is a good dude in the locker room and he is a Chief
-
@kjayhawks they got lucky today on 4th and 16 penalty
They need to fix several issues
LT is becoming a problem
Bengals came in with excellent game plans on both ends
-
Shroud vs Caleb is a fascinating matchup
-
@AsadZ ya, definitely have some issues to clear up but I wouldn’t want to be playing lights out in September. LT as you said is a huge issue at the moment, the linebackers continue to be less than impressive and turnovers have all been a problem.
-
Nagy stinks. Poach coach K since Ku can’t have him!
-
Caleb can ball. Especially impressive given WR2 is out and WR3 is on one leg
-
@wissox we have something in Chicago!
-
@AsadZ But, the previous play where the Chiefs passed for the first down, then had a penalty for hands to the face was “lucky” for the Bengals. I don’t like when penalties make a difference in the game either, but it was clearly pass interference so it’s worse if KC loses on a non-call.
-
Fun game to watch but hopefully the OT play can improve
-
@BShark the rookie KS was terrible, but he got very little help. I’m not sure why Andy didn’t have someone chip for him when it was obvious he was in over his head. Also Thuney was no help on a few of those rushes and he’s normally solid. The left side of the line was a mess.
-
@stoptheflop If the refs had swallowed their whistles - which is what the bengals fans want on that one play, but forget about the play immediately prior- the Chiefs would have had a long completion on 4th down instead of a long pass interference call on the next play. It really changes nothing other than Mahomes crappy statistical output would have been slightly better.

? Did he look good, stats are terrible. I thought he had flashes in the pre-season. I’m banking on him being good to great at some point for purely selfish reasons. lol bought a couple of his rookie cards - I treat it like stock for athletes. Like some ipo’s though out the gate is as high as it gets (The Panthers Young comes to mind).
-
@dylans KS looks a little like O Brown did. He doesn’t slide to the outside fast enough. Thuney was trying to help but KS didn’t give enough space.
Definitely should have kept a TE to help on the left (were those weird formations supposed to help?). Could have done a screen pass after steering the DE back into KS.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Jury is out. It’s kind of malpractice of Poles to get this QB and not provide an offensive line for him. He’s gonna get killed back there.
-
I seem to remember last year before the draft Williams compared himself to Pat Mahomes. I remember thinking at the time tht I hoped he wouldn’t start right off the bat and instead, like PM, would get a year of watching and learning.
It gets a lot of play but I still think Reid and Veach don’t get enough credit for keeping Alex Smith as PM’s mentor. Bears needed a vet to do that. (They could have even signed our backup, Carson Wentz, a hugely experienced guy who could have given them adequate play.)
-
Pacheco has a fractured fibula, will likely go to IR. We have Steele and Perine right now. Here are available free agents (Chiefs could pick someone from another team’s practice squad, but there are some restrictions on that, I think). I’d sign Cook or McKinnon.
Best Running Back Free Agents, 2024:
Dalvin Cook
Latavius Murray
Kareem Hunt
Jerick McKinnon
Melvin Gordon
Alex Armah
Eno Benjamin
Salvon Ahmed
Giovanni Ricci
Josh Kelley
DeWayne McBride
Matt Breida
James Robinson Royce Freeman Isaiah Spiller
-
Pacheco! Damn!
-
@dylans yeah he had some terrific throws against a good defense. He largely stayed within himself, didn’t play too much hero ball until the 4th when we had to be one dimensional. The run game was non-existent and also DJ was really our only effective receiver
-
@mayjay For the most part Chiefs avoided injuries last year, but they are piling up this year, WR1 and RB1 are down.
If he passes physical, I’d consider McKinnon since he knows playbook and can transition quickly.
-
So let’s talk about the engine that’s missing a piston…
Travis Kelce is invisible this year. Four catches for 39 yards in the first two games.
What gives? Taylor wear him out, or is he just getting old and in the way? Saving him for later in the season?
Odd for sure.
