NCAA NON- KU GAMES

UConn was hot and zags are not. I’m not crazy about either of these teams, but what a shitshow by gonzaga. Might as well just walk off the court

Did anybody see that painting? That looked worse than a 5 yr old!
I thought maybe they stole Zags play diagram for tonite.
-
I would’ve loved to have seen what Self would’ve come up with against UConn. Their 3 point shooting is what’s carried them more than anything else this tournament. I still think our defense would’ve been able to give UConn major issues.
-
They said coming in UConn had the largest margin of victory in tournament history at 21 ppg, that looks to go up even more. They haven’t even been challenged at this point.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I’m actually glad we didn’t play UConn. I think it would have been a USC type of an ending to the season.
-
@kjayhawks Huskies looked so good first 15 games of the season. I thought they were unbeatable then. Then got into conf play and obviously didn’t look as stout alot of the time. Back to looking great so far this tourney. Probably gonna be tough to beat.

This UCONN team looks unstoppable. I would rather anyone but UConn win the title this year. It’s mind boggling that they have the same number of titles as Kansas with absolutely no consistency as a program. They just show up every few years and win the whole darn thing. Somebody needs to do a statistical analysis of their program. Don’t think there is any other team in any sports with this type of inconsistency and titles. The standard deviation is off the charts.
Can’t stomach them having 5 titles in 24 years to our 4 in 70+ years!Unstoppable - and unfathomable how they finished tied for 4th in the Big East, four games behind Marquette…
-
Hard to believe these two teams are playing for the right to meet Florida Atlantic in the Final four.
-
Rooting for San Diego I like Dutcher, think he is an underrated coach and Fisher was out there as well.
-
SDS is definitely the stronger team - Creighton has had big trouble corralling rebounds that they get their hands on. Kalkbrenner definitely has fight in him but isn’t strong enough to finish through or over the SDS bigs…
-
This game is going to end on a foul call. I’m sure Creighton’s fans will have nothing to say about that.
-
If I read it right, 7/9 SDSU players (who had minutes today) are seniors. The other two are juniors.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 It was the right call too. Ugly game, nothing pretty, I wasted my time watching!
-
Why is it that we didn’t match up with TX because they are so long and athletic, and yet Miami seems to be able to attack that length and athleticism pretty easily??? A lot of easy buckets in the paint…

It’s San Diego St., they play a very slow tempo, very physical style of basketball. They’ve never been a fun team to watch under Fisher or Dutcher.
-
All you all said Texas ain’t legit and they play KU well but didn’t win big 12
Can you imagine us without Jalen getting to a final 4? They lost disu and have a great chance to win this one
Carr, Hunter and Rice - all can drive, shoot the 3 and defense
Look at FAU all 6-4/5 and under for their guards. Can all defend, get to the paint off the bounce and shoot.
Got 7-1 stiff and they are in the final four much like Baylor a few years back
4 smaller guards means less turnovers, more shots and playmaking. They attack the glass when the 7-1 guy doesn’t clean up and clearly not having 6-7-6-8 guys at the wings doesn’t matter
-
@kuballin10 We didn’t have enough guys this year. That’s what it boiled down to. Failure to develop for Zach and Bob was a killer. Last year we were a legit 7-8 deep.
-
@kuballin10 Go join Longhornbuckets then
-
@BShark we don’t have an athlete like Mitchell wow
Allen is a turd can’t stand him or his brother
I agree if we just had a halfway decent bench we’d been tough to beat. Udeh didn’t develop quick enough, Bob and Zach were just recruiting whiffs
-
@wissox as long as you take your Wisconsin talk to their boards as well!
-
Momentum Miami……see if Texas can hold on
-
Jim Larranaga is a bit underrated as a coach.
-
Truly a special offense from this Miami team. 4 guys at or above 38% from three on the year. Would love to see KU with that kind of shooting. Probably only get to 2-3 guys in that range next year, taken from the portal.

He’s a really good coach and good guy. UM has made adjustments - UT hasn’t responded…
-
No defense by UT - UM shooting 63%…
-
UM 19-22 from FT line. Making FTs wins games…
-
Texas? Choking? NEVER
-
Terrible call
-
Nick Collison sighting!!!
-
Right call! Cunninghams a creep

If Cunningham hadn’t kept backing up, he would’ve gotten the call…
-
Texas is a bunch of inefficient chuckers
-
Carr’s a ball hog
-
Smart mom!
-
Top 3 Big 12 teams all choke away decent leads in the tourney. The long reign of the Big 12 is over.
-
Carr just yeeted Tejas back to Austin
-
25-28 FTs. That’s pretty remarkable. Do they practice those at UM???

This is why they can’t stick with Terry.
And yeah, Miami was right there with us last year. Then we went on a banana land heater and the Miami players were SHOOK, basically quit running Jim’s sets.
-
When Miami’s big guy went out with 4 fouls. The were able to really disrupt UT’s offense. They were never able to run a set and it took them out of their rhythm and they never got it back. This was actually a pretty entertaining game. Alot of fouls though
-
Memories! No KU in their way!

Transfers and retaining non-NBA guys
-
Does UT officially hire Terry? I feel like that’s just not the UT thing to do. I’ve thought that all along. Even tho he probably earned it
-
@BShark I think KU having a core of guys that had been around for 3-4 years or 6 lol with Mitch was huge. David and Jwil were the lone top 50 recruits on that team.
-
Glad to see Texas lose, I would’ve been fine to extend the B12s FF and title game streak but F*** Texas ride on out shorthorns.

Get old stay old. Thankfully, we are targeting old in the portal.
-
@BShark experience pays off I think, a ton of upperclassmen on these final four teams. This year I think our starting 5 was good enough at times to make it but the bench was just full of swings and misses unfortunately.
-
Maybe we should have anticipated this year’s chaos given that the NCAA granted an extra year due to COVID two years ago… It made the mid majors older and more experienced. The majors still recruited top talent and even some transfers, but the teams that kept the core group, doubled-down on chemistry, and gained a year of experience were able to neutralize some of the powerhouses despite the raw talent differential… Does that make sense?
-
This years final four looks like a crappy preseason tournament that no one in their right mind would attend
-
@dylans Except that is a pretty absurd prejudice to have considering how exciting all these games have been. F4 should be a blast
-
@cragarhawk I hope they steal Tang away from KSU lol.
But my guess is they just keep Terry. Sort of makes sense for everyone. He did a good job. Low risk move for the AD. Keeps the roster as in tact as possible (though I think they’ll still lose 6+ guys). Keeps the five star guys going to UT I think. I’m sure they’ll get some guys in the portal who can play.
But again, I hope they call Tang with a blank checkbook.
Finally, super super super unlikely scenario I want to throw out. But Calipari to UT after a negotiated buyout with UK for everyone to move on. Cal brings his superstar class with him to Texas. Kentucky starts a new era after getting Nate Oats or Scot Drew or Jerome Tang or someone like that. This only happens if UT wants to do something stupid and splashy. So not entirely impossible lol.
