LOL, bragging about an NIT runner up. It’s like PJ Fleck had rings made up for his team a few years ago because they finished 2nd in the BIG division in football.
When you have no real accolades but are trying to sell a book.
Fran is one of the least friendly coaches out there. And hey look no one says you have to be friendly but he is one that can’t even pretend to smile. Gregggg Marshall, Gard and Boeheim are also on that list in terms of guys I’ve ran into. Bruce honestly isn’t a bad guy, just super awkward. Boynton at OSU is a good dude but I wonder if OSU will be running out of patience there.
ETA: I loved Roy too. Just consistently a good dude. Most of my interactions there were when I was a kid.

@BShark Funny thing is I hated Madden as a coach. But his TV made him extremely likeable. I’ve never really met a D1 coach that I can think of. I did ask Larry Brown for a picture as he was sitting on a folding chair 2 hours before game time watching guys shoot. But didn’t talk, really appeared to have no interest in talking.

@wissox One of the best settings for it is the final four. Usually a lot of coaches hanging around.

I actually think Fleck is probably a cool guy to hang around. By all accounts away from the court McCaffery is a very cheritable good guy who raises a lot of money for cancer research. But goodness on the court, there’s hardly ever been anyone so unlikeable.

Don’t know whether Baylor will end up winning or not, but they look way over-seeded. UCSB actually looks like the better team at this point…

That was a wild loss. We proceeded to whip them without Norm and without Kevin the 2nd half of the big 12 tournament game.
I think they had Grill both regular season games against us? He was big for their spacing…

Iowa State I think still wins this, just ripped off a 17-4 run. TJ is a good coach, if they are within 6-8 at the break I wouldn’t count them out. They need a ton of open looks and haven’t gotten one call.

I’m not sure I’ve seen a team go this ice cold at this level. The rebounding game is even ISU has half the turnovers as Pitt. They can’t make nothing, a layup, a wide open 3 or free throw.

@BShark Yep if you told me Pitt scored 60-65 like they probably end up scoring I’d say ISU wins going away, also why I thought they were fine down 7 at the half figured the law of averages would kick in shooting wise.

ISU made the same number of field goals as Pitt and lost by 18. ISU also took 19 more shots than Pitt. Pitt took the same number of shots as ISU had points.
How bad was ISU’s offense today!?!? You only let a team take 41 shots for the game, hold them to 34% from the field and lose by 18!!!

I assume that’s just an ISU record and not NCAA record because there’s been many teams to be held below 51 in an NCAA Tournament game since then.

We complain about our bench production (or lack thereof) - ISU’s was 0-10, but contributed 5 TOs and 10 fouls…

Switched to the UConn game. Just counted 13 seconds in the lane for the big man sonogo on UConn. Ended with him getting an offensive rebound and put back plus a foul for a 3 point play. That should be reviewable in my opinion.

So, the B12 is just 3-2 right now. SEC, B10 and Big East all have much better showings so far… We’ll see what the evening session brings…
