Been said ad nauseam throughout most of the fanbase but I wonāt be excited if KJ is back in a major role. People will point at the success that the team had earlier in the season but our metrics were trash and we didnāt blow anyone out

I love targeting Kobe and Garrison. So I wonāt complain but I think Vecenie thinks we are closer than what I do.

I know Iām beating the hell outta a dead horse here but watching this game today. Teams just have so much better guard play than us. Guys that are quick off the bounce, can get a piece of the paint anytime they want. They are bigger, stronger and faster than ours. The one hope is it wonāt be that way with Johnny next season if he returns after hitting the gym. He will be one of those guys.

See and my concern with that even if Johnny comes back is he isnāt a primary or secondary handler type. Frank Masonās and Devon Dotsonās donāt grow on trees but we need a guard who can generate paint touches and get to the free throw line consistently.

KUās inability to create floor spacing meant it was harder for guards to get into the paint. Late in the year the lane was clogged to prevent HD from getting clean touches. TBH, I donāt think refās called all the fouls they should have during lane penetration but whateverā¦.

I took it for granted with Frank and Dot. But the ability to just tell a guy to get in the paint and get fouled or get a bucket is so pivotal.

@rcjhdraft one thing to consider if I remember correctly Elmarko is hasnāt been playing organized ball for very long. He has the athletic ability to do and has a decent stop and pop game right now.

A big concern with Amos should be his health. Only played 7 games as a freshman and missed the last few games this season with back issues. Thatās something that would make me look elsewhere because we donāt need a player with a known injury history depleting the depth for next season.
Iāll also say that I donāt believe that caliber of player we need have begun entering the portal yet.

We , need some dogs out of the portal this year, Iām not just talking athletic, but some studs , got that dog in them. Enough of the Timberlakes , no Yesfuās ā We need guys that can get their own shots - ā create , someone that wants the ball in Crunch time- - That Alpha
We need a stud CG ā - and a Strong legit front line player - -we need athletic vey athletic , speed. enough screwing around - -and a couple good quality depth off the Bench players- -time to buckle down

Just asking so I can potentially hope to never see HDick in a KU uniform every again.

Until recently believe itās illegal for coaches and the school to be involved in the $ but with the NCAA continuing to be shut down from getting involved in that business it may be something that a coach can have some influence on going forward.

Something I was saying in the Season , and through the Season. ā Hunter Dickinson was just a bad fit for us. - Now seeing many others now saying what Iāve been saying.
Hunter Dickinson although a good player was a bad fit- - -and it showed, Hunter is a liability on defense, gets beat repeatedly, suer gets rebounds but a lot of those rebounds practically fell in his lap, NOT a good offensive rebounding guy at all - -Actually we had NOBODY that was good at being aggressive to go to the offensive glass.
Hunter was not a guy that demanded the ball, kinda like THATāS MINE, a guy that would just go get the ball, a lot of his rebounds would either hit the floor and bounce his way or simply because of his what 7ā1 frame.
We need a guy who loves to bound - -like a Dennis Rodman or a Daryl Dawkins somebody that i just gonna take it - -give it to me attitue . Hunter was - just Big & slow real defensive liability on the perimeter . -He is more then likely coming back , just hope his foot speed can improve - - doubtful but maybe
