Transfer Rumblings
-
Can imagine Ermann is looking for a KU voodoo doll right about now. What a rabbit hole he led his fans down, much worse then the Dotson saga
-
@kuballin10 - other sites think the ballroom is in Michigan. Ergo, Bill’s quick trip last weekend. Just a guess.
-
Whew. Man, bring on a wing player and let’s call it a day!
-
Let the countdown begin - - Hopefully , --Come on down Mackenzie – hopefully good news tomorrow
-
Looks like he’s taking the IU visit @jayballer67 but KU is still confident. We shall see.
If one of our bigs transfers out and we land Nelson (watched his tape last night - my word) or some other stud “almost” nba guy - it’s like the monstars in space jam
-
@kuballin10 Yeah Nelson is a pro.

True , yet every thing I’ve seen and or heard is chances are pretty high that Nelson stays in the NBA draft
-
@BShark Aka he isn’t pulling out of the draft?
-
@jayballer67 same but doors never closed until it’s official lol
-
Do we still have one scholarship left with Kyle leaving or our we full?
-
We have 1 still available.
-
Now make it 2
-
Nooooo! Poor Zuby. Say it ain’t so.
-
And don’t rule out 3
-
LOL
-
Just heard about Zuby. Makes sense but I hope Hunter stays HEALTHY.
-
Why would Udeh transfer? Makes no sense.
-
@Woodrow I thought Zuby was transferring because he would be BEHIND Ernest coming off the bench, after Hunter committed. Both can’t be going???
-
@FarmerJayhawk said in Transfer Rumblings:

I’m hoping this is referencing CJ more-so than Udeh
-
@kuballin10 I mean screw it why not 4? At this point the only thing that would really surprise me would be Juan leaving lol*
*AND THAT’S NOT HAPPENING TO BE CLEAR
-
SOB, I can’t ever remember a roster clear out like this before.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Juan and Kj stay all others leave would be insane.
Get Mgbako and 2 stud late nba draft guys
I love the portal and KU seems like the hot name for portal guys. It’s better than the unknown high school kids who still gush over uk and Duke. KU is on the rise very obvious. Bill gonna get to 5 like coach K and leave us with 7 ncaa titles.
If Bill wins a title this upcoming year then that’s 2/3 years since the portal……it is almost not fair
-
Just saw this:
-
@kuballin10 good tracker here. The portal indicators aren’t up to date (e.g. Nelson not shown as in, but he is) but a good list anyhow https://www.rookiescale.com/early-entrant-tracker/

Rumor is that Udeh could be on the way out as well
-

Churn churn churn. Think we could see a HS guy ask out as well.
-
DaJuan, Udeh, & KJ sticking around still? Or is it gonna be a 100% new roster? Wow
The stratification of talent with the portal is wild. Covetous
-
I like the idea of getting a few new good players via portal to improve the team but I wish mass exodus of current players can be avoided.
My point is that we still should be able to see some players go through the development and growing process every year, freshmen to upperclassmen.
I am particularly disappointed in how Cuffe’s departure was handled, wish coach would not have called out his name in public.
-
The big question is how quickly will this roster be able to gel? Almost feels like a fresh Kentucky lineup every year.
-
Would be shocked if Udeh left, Zuby was likely 3rd in line. He has a ton of upside and will be a good player in a few years but he ain’t gonna do much at the power 5 level at this point.
-

Udeh was a McDonald’s all American top 30 recruit, it’s hard to tell those guys “hey for the first two years of your college career you’re gonna average 10 minutes a game”. That being said if we can sell him on like how Donovan clingan was used for uconn this season then I’m all for it

Could you imagine how some of the fan base would feel if say Doke and or McCormack were recruited over from portal when they were here , and not given the chance to develop like they did during here time here. - Doke & McCormack both were pure crap their freshmen years here. - If Self would of more or less shown them the door one way or another of making sure they were out and forced out , we would of never got to see the finished product - -their development from Freshman yrs till their finish - -
-
Good Lord Almighty! It’s suddenly “Rent-A-Team”! ️

Disagree there. Think he could be a decent rim runner and rebounder if he finds the right program. This isn’t a Cuffe situation where the guy just isn’t good enough imo.

Zuby had beaten Udeh in the rotation before Zuby hurt his foot. He should have plenty of P5 interest.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 notice I said at this point, how much money you wanna bet he’s doesn’t go to a power school and start. He will be good in a few years, he’s just not great now. I’d highly recommend working on your reading comprehension buddy.
-
@kjayhawks this isnt necessary. Lets stay civil?
-
@kjayhawks All he said was “He should have plenty of P5 interest.” Nothing about starting “at this point.”
Not sure why you felt he was not comprehending what you wrote.
-
One day without a commit and people get testy!
-
Question since I truly can’t keep up… and it would really blow if Udeh transfers. Is Jaylon Tyson still in play for KU?

think he’s off the table and going to Cal
-
Ok, I did google him and saw that he is predicted to go to Cal…but- why hasn’t he announced? What’s he waiting for?
-
Honestly no idea. I know there was some smoke that he was supposed to announce a few days ago but that obviously didn’t happen. My guess is that him and his brother who plays football are still shopping for schools that will take both of them
-
@rcjhdraft Thanks for the info… At least some people still think there’s a very small chance he ends up at KU apparently - this from 247 sports
“Cal and Kansas are heavily involved for prized Texas Tech wing Jaylon Tyson. But he has a decision to make, because his job description at Kansas would be much different than at Cal. Mark Madsen has done a phenomenal job upgrading the talent at Cal in a hurry, but there’s a massive hole on the wing for Tyson to fill. If Tyson wants to be a star, Cal offers him that chance.
If Tyson is OK sacrificing his personal stats to be a piece of a National Championship contender, Kansas is the logical destination. “

It was said earlier in the thread that his visit went really poorly so I’m not sure if he even has a committable offer at this point. Either way, I doubt they’d take him before hearing Mgbako’s decision.
-
Tyson isn’t coming to KU. Other than that, who knows!
-
@approxinfinity don’t really think I said anything uncivil in that. Usually @Texas-Hawk-10 go back and forth with out getting to bad. I am usually laughing on the matter. I’ve been cussed out on here and not had anyone say anything.
-
@FarmerJayhawk trust the Farmer! He is Cindy’s personal garden sales person for her at home garden! Somehow he never misses so either that or he golfs with Bill every day in the summer - your choice!

Only other thing I know right now is Udeh isn’t decided EITHER way.

Well, tell him to stay for Pete’s sake.
