Remember ugly is in the eye of the beholder. Defense was superb both ways and while it leads to scoring droughts and missed shots, there’s a beauty to it and i long for the days of the top defense in the country type Bill Self team.

Yeah the defense last year was insane. Second only to UVA only without their shitty pace of play. 6th lowest 2pg % and 3rd lowest overall fg% against in the country thanks to Udoka. Very few teams even cracked 70 against KU last year. Dayton in OT, Texas Tech in a close win, Oklahoma and Iowa State in blow outs.

It’s even worse when you consider his PER last year was 23.6 for the season (3rd on the team behind Doke/Dot) and nearly 7 points higher then the next guy (Marcus).
It’s hard to believe.

@BeddieKU23 This is why we know he CAN be better. The pressure right now to be the guy is too much, he just needs to play within himself and his abilities.

@BShark We genuinely do not need him to score at all. If he would just focus on getting good position in the post for rebounds on both ends we would be a better team.

Encouraging to see so far the improvement of Braun & Agbaji per PER from last year to this season. Enaruna has seen a big jump but hard to quantify it when he’s barely played.

@BeddieKU23 Enaruna looked okay in the first two games when he played. Bill REALLY wanted to beat UK and Tristan couldn’t survive his first mistake. I think it’s very clear that Ochai and Braun are very improved players.
