2021 Transfer Talk/List

Sooooo can confirm there’s some interest from Kofi’s camp in coming to KU because of NIL possibilities. Blue blood market (read: 3 strype lyfe) and all that
I mean could you imagine Kofi playing for Bill? He’d get so many post touches.
-
I mean I’d love it. But I don’t see how it shakes out without giving someone the boot. And Dave is the only one who would make sense…
Could this be the first “Walk-on” and then everything gets paid for by NIL stuff? That is a future unintended consequence I see…
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 Totally agree, so to those that think so I ask where are all of the Mitch minutes going to come from? Remember, we have Wilson, Clemence and Adams too who have the 4 spot all but wrapped with one maybe even getting some spot minutes occasionally at the 5.
-
@Kcmatt7 That is a great question, and a very interesting one. It is not out of the realm of possibility that such a thing could one day happen.

that’s good to hear for sure. now he would have to sit IF again IF he somehow wound up here right ?- -Now if immediate play would be his case then we know he would not be coming because were full for this year no Scholli’s available. - - -I think once again here is yet ANOTHER kid that ends up in Kentucky - -now that sucks. They are also blue blood with plenty for NIL- -man I wish things were a little warmer for him

Self would have to do someone, either Dave or Cam Martin most likely, extremely dirty to make that happen and I don’t think Self has the character of forcing out a ready to play person for someone else.
The profile of who Self has forced out has always either been discipline issue players or development players. Sydney Curry being a development player made sense to force out to make room for Ochai returning. Unless Self thinks Cam Martin just is incapable of competing in the Big 12, I don’t like what Self would have to do to bring in Kofi Cockburn.

You & me either one. Our roster is Set. Sure Kofi would be a HUGE pick up - - but the situation is just not right , even for him. Coach is not forcing Dave out. The kid has worked to hard , and think Coach well , he is just not that type of guy. Cam Martin if something WERE to happen probably would be the one & even that would be a complete D - - - move at this stage. Really in a way when it’s said and done wouldn’t entirely surprise me if he didn’t return to Illinois. If not there then probably Kentucky. - Just for grins , has this kid made some kind of announcement as to whe he might be picking a School.
Would love to have him but not at the price of having to Sacrafice Dave - - Just not right
-
The easiest thing IMO would be moving JCL to a GA type role. But I haven’t heard anything that the interest has gone both ways.

That’s still doing someone dirty and I would be completely opposed to adding Cockburn if it means screwing someone else over that badly.

Right, which is the big reason why the staff doesn’t appear to be that interested.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 agree. And he should not do it.
-
Wasn’t Kofi set on following the assistant that left for Kentucky. Him leaving otherwise just makes no sense.

Biiig money is what he and his people are after.
-
It would be crazy if we had Cockburn this year and Dick next.
-
Kofi announcing his next destination on Friday. Will be no surprise to where and how it happened
-
@BeddieKU23 explain. UK?
-
certainly my expectation
-
Big Dave’s foot healed up?
-
ya he is pretty much a wrap for UK - if NOT then back to Illinois
-
http://m.kusports.com/news/2021/jul/13/kansas-basketball-big-man-david-mccormack-returns-/?templates=mobile Answers my question
-
Kentucky has a lot of talent this year. It will be interesting to see how they rebound from that dumpster fire of last year.
-
Funny that Tshiebwe and his handlers wanted to get away from West Virginia for playing 2 bigs but if Kofi goes to UK boy that cannot sit well with them. They have Collins, Ware & Hopkins as well. So many mouths to feed with 1 ball
-
@BeddieKU23 KU and UK have embraced the idea of transfers, in KU’s case both coming and going - Duke and UNC, not so much. One thing that we’ve finally accomplished by all of the transfers/freshmen and important players coming back this year? Class balance.
-
Moussa Cisse is expected to choose Oklahoma St tomorrow. Kid has zero offensive skill. Former 5 star
-
Cockburn has apparently eliminated Kentucky and he’ll either be back at Illinois or Florida St.
-
Well see that my thoughts of Kofi are still in play. Eliminated UK - -thinking he is going to return to Illinois. - think that’s where he goes - -Back to Illinois.
Guess according to the Kentucky Boards a report of KSR that that Kofi is going back to Illinois - - kinda figured as much

I think he ends up at FSU. FSU has come on strong late and have a strong recent track record of getting big men into the 1st round which is what Cockburn is looking for.
-
Go Hamilton!

we shall see I reckon. - All I know is what they were reporting of KSR it said and just my own personal feeling that always thought he would go back to Illinois
-
So someone let me know, please. What kind of dumpster fire is going on at Illinois? Isn’t Underwood still there?
-
Marcus Carr considering a contract in Australia. HATE TO SEE IT.

This pleases me considering what the alternative could be
-
Damn Texas Tech landed Kevin Obanor from Oral Roberts. Was absolutely awesome in the NCAA tourney
-
Sounds like Carr is going to end up at Texas. They will be absolutely loaded. Consensus top 5 entering the season.
-
Tech should be firmly 3rd/4th in the league now.
-
@Marco Illinois needs to bring back Chief Illiniwek who put a curse on the program when he was banned from doing his traditional dance. The two sports most anyone pays attention to in college have been largely inept since the curse was placed.
-

I would go KU, Texas if they get Carr, Baylor, then Tech. The Tech/Texas games next season should be pretty spicy. If McBride had stayed I might have put WVU 4th. The league should be really strong next season though.
-
I just got a feeling Carr ends up in the end playing over sea’s for a year and then declaring or enters NEXT year’s NBA draft. - Go play for a year work on his game and make some money while doing so
-
All that and Kofi commits to… Illinois
-

That’s what I thought. He end up back where he started.
-
Marcus Carr to Texas. Carr, Jones, Ramey is a freaky backcourt.
-
Texas also has Dylan Disu, Tre Mitchell, Timmy Allen, Christian Bishop, and Devin Askew (meh) transferring in. They are loaded.
-
Having 2006-2007 flashbacks.

LOADED - - should provide for some epic battles. - -Big twelve is going to be rough this year
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich Anyone out there still think that Beard is not going to be in a pain in our ass at UT? The guy and they are not playing, they’re for real already. I am stoked about the transfer rule, it bodes well for KU maybe getting off light. And yes @Texas-Hawk-10, I do realize that they are “supposedly” different rules/circumstances, but not really. They’ve all been paid, this time by both the booster/shoe companies and the schools.
-
Silvio De Sousa is transferring to Chattanooga.
-
Poor Chattanooga will be on probation for 3-5 now
-
He still has to go to his jury trial on Aug 2nd
-
Iowa St landed Tre King, former Western Kentucky Forward that transferred to Georgetown during the spring only to have issues getting onboard there and never suiting up for Georgetown. Seeking a waiver to play at Iowa St immediately. Averaged nearly 15ppg.
