  • @iowajayhawk2005 think before you write or open mouth!

  • @crimsonorblue22 I did. I thought - this would be hilarious. and I wrote it. and it was. Did you not get it? I was referencing… ya know?

  • @iowajayhawk2005 smart guy on boards, what does loosed him up mean?

  • @iowajayhawk2005 Really now. Lets not stoop to the lowest common denominator on this board.

  • @iowajayhawk2005 - 4

    @drgnslayr - 1

Iowa… you sure know how to get responses!

    A+

    In poor taste? Probably…

  • @iowajayhawk2005

I seriously doubt anybody in this forum thought your post was hilarious. I personally think it was disrespectful and puerile.

  • @JayHawkFanToo thanks for speaking up!

  • @iowajayhawk2005 ehhh… damn it man, you keep making me have to act like an admin. I appreciate you, I appreciate your insights and your perspective. And others do too. It’s solid… but you’re the only person with a foul mouth on here.

I get that that might be your thing, but can you censor yourself with astericks or something? some modicum of self-restraint in deference to your fellow posters?

Are you CivilHawk’s alter ego or something?

I really don’t want to ban or censor anyone. And I don’t really want to qualify what “don’t be a jerk means”. But… it means “don’t be a jerk” by the perspective of the general consensus. That probably universally means not using words that have any direct or derivative meanings related to feces, or genitalia. It also means not insulting other people deliberately and repeatedly.

Ultimately it is subjective, so I can only go by how insulted people appear to be in response to you. Looks like it was a rough day for that.

  • @approxinfinity Dad used to say that “profanity was a indicative of a limited intellect, desperately trying to express itself.”

  • @globaljaybird your dad nailed that! Wonder where Iowa went?

  • @approxinfinity - Thanks for saying what I couldn’t express without using a bunch of four letter words…

Seriously, we’re all grown ups ( I guess ), and I don’t mind an occasional “donkey” or “H E double hockey sticks” reference once in a while, if it’s used in context, but profanity and name calling for no other purpose than to evoke a response is just not necessary.

I like humor and comedy and it’s probably not a coincidence that two of my favorite comedians are Brian Regan and Sinbad. They are both hilarious (IMO) and rarely use profanity. @globaljaybird 's dad hit the nail on the head, anyone can be funny tossing around curse words - they just sound funny - but it takes a little more thought process to make people laugh without using them.

  • @nuleafjhawk Two of my most favorite exceptionally gifted & wonderfully exhilarating & hilarious comedians are Mark Lowery & Aaron Wilburn. Effervescent, priceless, and zingy stand up that either your Grandmother or granddaughter can enjoy. Another of my all time favorites was “The Mouth of Mississippi”, Jerry Clower. Some people will not watch Christian comedians, but these guys are (were) simply tremendous. JMO. If you’re not familiar, utube is full of their comedy videos. Enjoy.

  • @globaljaybird Thanks so much for the info - I will DEFINITELY check these guys out. I have no problem watching Christian comedians (although I really didn’t know there were any!), most of the music I listen to is Christian. I feel like I have to listen to that after being on this site all day. LOL - I’m joking - I LOVE this site!!

  • I mean… I’m not using curse words - I’m simply being sophomoric. I find intelligent poop jokes and puns to be the highest form of hilarity. Maybe I’m leaning more to poop and less to intelligent and for that I’m sorry. Guess I really pooped the bed on that one.

The only word I’ve used on this site to ever get banned was “hand” so I guess I’ll have to start calling them phalange jobs.

I’m all for cleaning it up a bit since clearly you are on the level of christian comedians and offended by anything non secular or democratic. So, on that note, I will apologize for calling Brennan Greene a twat. I didn’t mean it so much as the dictionary definition as I did the British/Aussie slang definition. I’ve lived a few years abroad and I sometimes forget my favorite unoffensive vernacular in one country can be something completely different in another. What I was meaning to say is Brennan Greene is an annoying cry-baby who has an upity attitude.

On that note - I am a twat.

    Is self depracation allowed?

  • @iowajayhawk2005 - Just put a condom on it and keep posting. Oh s#it, I shouldn’t have said “condom”… Oh %&$@ I shouldn’t have said “s#it!”

But seriously… we can sometimes edge into locker room talk… I think people just don’t want it to come from the gutter.

How about we draw a line at PG-16? If we are clever we can take a lot of liberties with innuendos, misplaced acronyms, multi-directional slang and camouflaged syntax.

Hey, its not my poodle riding the chair!

    Self-diapercation is allowed!

  • One of the many talents a woman possesses is the innate ability to help a man to gain perspective of the value of any given process. She uses her womanly charms to allow a man to see the bigger picture. In this instance, she reminded her husband to loosen up, have fun,and enjoy himself while going through the meat grinder of a season this has been. Other than texting, the methods she utilized to achieve such excellent results are purely speculative, therefore are unmentionable. As Iowahawk’s official press liason, this will be our official response to any further inquiries regarding what will be known as the “Cindy Self texting incident”.

  • @KUSTEVE - Brillante savoir-faire, mon ami!

I’m always amazed how my wife can position me how she likes and does it without me feeling belittled. She knows the importance of roosters puffing out their chests! Sometimes, deep down inside, I feel like women must all be getting a great laugh out of us! There will be probably 100 women reading this post, and few if any will verify what I said with a reply… because they don’t want to spoil all the fun!

  • @drgnslayr - Wondering here if Cindy could kindly suggest to coach Self that selecting a three point sniper as regular part of the rotation would be a wise thing to do? We could all pony up and send her a fruit basket or something …

  • @KUSTEVE

Have you ever heard the expression:

Behind every successful man there is a woman.

Well, that’s is the incomplete version. The full version goes something like:

Behind every successful man there is a woman who keeps telling him is doing it all wrong.

And no, I am not saying that this is the case with Coach Self and wife.

  • I’m certainly not going to get on a soapbox & announce my hypocracy before anyone, because I myself can turn a sailor blue, quick as a jackrabbit on a date. The main consideration when posting should be that many younger, more impressionable people may be viewing this site also. Other than that, there’s nothing new under the sun that most of us adults have not uttered, heard, or seen. And on the contrary, there is no offense at all in an opinion that is democratic in nature, but outright tasteless comments of any sense should not be an option. Personally I enjoy reading the diverse opinions & ideas that most board rats share on this site, and gain, what I believe, is valuable insight from them. To my knowledge kubuckets has no user agreement & should really need none as most of us consistently show the maturity level to negate that, or a clever enough wit to avoid any editing at all. That’s really what I dig the most. We’ve all far too many countless gripes & valid concerns about the absurdity of government regulations in daily life, like calories on a pop can, or the size of the soda, or infinite vending machine regulations, & so on & on. But the single most irritating contradiction in all of the politicians blunders, is their apparent total neglect of free network television & the ghastly, gruesome, & morbid depiction of violent crime & the grisly & repulsive details with chapter upon chapter of autopsies, murders, & the like, night after year, & forever-all under the shroud of about the only freedom we even remotely retain. It’s all BS for political support from big money in the business & it takes no crystal ball or genius to cipher it out. Like slayr says guys, please try to keep it PG if we can, & remember that maybe our grandchildren, wives, or Mothers may be reading our comments from time to time. I need a reminder myself from time to time also. Plus, keep in mind & once again gripping the theme of this thread…

    …“If Mama Ain’t Happy, then Nobody’s Happy!”

Unfortunately they’ve got half the money & all the…JMO

  • @HighEliteMajor -

“Wondering here if Cindy could kindly suggest to coach Self that selecting a three point sniper as regular part of the rotation would be a wise thing to do? We could all pony up and send her a fruit basket or something …”

…and wondering if while she is at it she could diagram several specific plays they could run for us to nail the long ball.

I don’t know why I feel this way… but I’m getting the feeling like Conner is ready to go to work out there and nail 3s now!
