Bryson Tiller Highlights vs. Notre Dame (17 Pts, 9 Rebs, 2 Blks)
-
We got lazy and tired feeding the post or this was a 20 point win.
Really hope this stretch without DP is a net positive and forces some growth.
Good win though! Liked the energy.
-
Awesome block by Jamari on Bird
-
Cuse really hanging with Houston. That’s worrisome for tomm
-
Melvin, Tre, DP, Bryson, Flory…. Feeling like a strong ass five by seasons end right now.
-
@BeddieKU23 I think Houston might just not be all that great from what I’ve seen of them a few times already this year…
-
You plug in DP over Rosario and we are a problem for any team. We have been calling on Tre to be as good as he was last year and he is proving to be even better I mean a big guard who can score inside and get tough rebounds. We didn’t know what we were going to get in Tiller but I don’t think we expected a dominating paint player like this. Over the summer pundits said Flory would be one of the most improved centers this year but his stat line today was holy smokes. So Melvin Counsel Jr comes along and asserts himself today and shows his natural gifts are under control and flourishing. Our defense is pretty darn good also.
-
Happy to see Flory all smiles and friendly, hugging Notre Dame players after the game. Kid is flying high right now.
-
Watching Bill engage with this team in the huddle I think he is really into it and likes them. And the players are having some fun and believing in themselves.
-
Hopefully we benefit from tired legs from Cuse going to OT. They look really tough
-
@BShark I will say Jamari played hard nosed and fearless today.
-
Houston is a great team. Some November struggles are nothing to sound alarms over
-
Well the Big Twelve went 4-0 in the tourney today, Ku should benefit with all these dang rules in this tourney- As we won by the biggest separation-- --we won by Ten- - Baylor won by Seven----Iowa St won by one & Houston won by like Five.
So do I have this right, if your not one of the top four teams that has played then you play again Thursday ?
Keys to beating Syracuse tomorrow :- - -Take care of the ball—Syracuse presses most of the game- - -Gotta hit the boards – -Got to defend the three, and hope that they just don’t go white hot from the line, be our luck they won’t miss period after that display today , Hope they shoot FT like they did today
-
@BShark I don’t think they are either. I mean they are good , but this is not last years team for sure

Very concerned with the zone. Expectations are low
-
@Jhawk69 that was partially due to our defense
-
Eight blocks today we are ranked 13 th in the Nation with block shots , think they said averaging 6.4 per game and we lead the big twelve in blocks
-
Plus we had a lot of clean blocks against Duke that were incorrectly called as fouls
-
@approxinfinity He played at LaLumiere right down the road from South Bend. I really should get over there and watch a game, but they charge like college prices to get in so i’ll skip.

This tournament is getting ripped on social media. It’s essentially killed Maui and the Bahamas thing. And while Vegas does have some good matchups the gyms are woefully uncrowded. In addition the tournament format is confusing, apparently point differential is a thing? A point differential in Vegas? Hmmm. Sounds like a kid or coach could be on the receiving end of some money…or death threats for helping or messing up someones bet.

Right an NIL tournament for money in Vegas with the point spread being the main focus. Doesn’t sound fishy at all. I miss the old days so much

For those interested in Jayden Dawson.
“X-rays are still pending,” Self said. “Apparently, he hurt it dunking in warmups, so it’s his right wrist. So, I bet he’s doubtful for the [Players Era Festival], but I do not know that for a fact. But he went in today and then obviously said he couldn’t go, so that was disappointing because we’re kind of short-handed right now.”
Kid can’t catch a break. Need him out there.

We look terrible. Notre Dame clearly wants it more
This is why I usually don’t comment during games… especially KU. We like to start slow. Seems to be a Bill thing.
I kind of understand why. Maybe it’s harder when you get out fast. Then you have to live up to the expectations for the rest of the game, and it always feels like your opponent is creeping up on you.
When you are down (only a reasonable amount), you have a definite goal and motivation.
PS: having one of those days! lol

Started fast against duke

@Kcmatt7 that’s the problem there’s no basketball fans in Vegas. Supposedly the b12 has an agreement to play a number of games each season in MSG and I’m like why? No fan base is even close to the NYC and in this economy who can afford to go watch a game there? At one point they were talking about the conference tournament there. KC is the perfect spot and always has been. OKC and Dallas the place was empty 90% of the time.

Vegas has been dead for over a year!
-
I tell ya, that Duke game last year in Vegas was jam packed!
But yesterday’s crowd was minimal for sure. I think people have the time, money and energy to see their teams play one big game in Vegas, but asking them to shell out three or four days and big bucks may be too much to ask.
That being said, i’ve done that for Maui a few times. Aloha!

Jamari is starting today
