This is The Feel Good Edition KU-AZ
-
14 pt difference at the FT line…
-
FT time
-
We have to make front-ends the rest of the way…
-
7 pts under a minute,looking good
-
-
Dang, I think we actually did it
-
-
Really pleased with the way everyone played but the bench and Rylan.
-
Thanks seniors!
-
Guys - let’s not celebrate yet. We have to be able to inbound the ball…
-
We’re better than AZ, I can sleep well tonight…

I don’t feel comfortable yet.
-
Hunt and Zeke wanted it
-
42 straight on senior day and 30 some odd years of 20 plus wins. It’s a down year but we still held on to some streaks
-
With those senior stats we should win by 20-30, if not for the atrocious D in the 2nd half….
-
Zeke not inbounding, Self has learned in that situation.
-
Good win seniors!
-
Very good last 8 minutes there
-
Haven’t been able to say this much lately, but good guys win again
-
Can be something to build on for next week… it’s not over
-
Best late game execution in a long while…
-
Really good win for the guys today, So glad for the Seniors- -all three was fine , I know , I know not a lot of subsitions today but I don’t give a dam – those five played pretty fgood
-
@DCHawker Over all grand scheme of things I thought these five played pretty good today
-
Super stoked for the seniors. Really nice win.
-
I think I’ll pass on Cooper. AZ kept answering time after time after time but they couldn’t keep it up the last three minutes. We kept on scoring when we needed it until the end. Two nice FT’s by Rylan and Zeke in addition to his scoring got boards down the stretch. Thank you hunter.
-
@BeddieKU23 If we can just play solid pretty much like today I think we can win some games yet
-
@FarmerJayhawk Agree really glad to see these three go out with the W

Praise the lord
-
I guess we will play Tuesday?
-
Wednesday I think. Play at either 7pm or 930 est. Depends on baylor outcome i believe
-
I’ll take my usual stance on the B12 tournament, win it all or lose the first game. Although with the way with this team had played if we won, it will be something
-
Juan with 7 assists and 7 points in the second half, nice to see I thought that would be the norm for him this season and he would average around 10 and 10.

This year is different. Performance in the tournament may make a big difference in seeding. Definitely want to avoid an 8-9 game. 6 or 7 seed better for hopes of making a 2-3 game run. Remember that Alabama reached the FF with double digit losses last year.
-
Wonder why?

Considering our first game is likely either Utah or UCF, I’d prefer to not take a quad 2 loss going into the NCAA Tournament. The quarterfinals game would be either BYU or Arizona (they split so I don’t know who has the tiebreaker). If it’s BYU, I’d like to avenge that embarrassing performance in Provo.
-
just reading from Arizona site, and the Article said that Arizona’s most likely would be KU again as KU earned the 6 seed but KU would have to beath the 11 seed in Wednesdays game to meet Arizona again
-
Truly fun with the box score!
There’s some positive stuff in here, except one pretty bad stat.
FGA
KU 67
Arizona 55
Nice to see us take way more shots for once.
ASSISTS
KU – 22
3P FGA
KU – 8-21
Arizona – 6-16
Also nice to take and make more!
The Not So Good Stat
Two bench points for KU today. aargh.
POINTS
Hunter – 33
Zeke – 20
Two guys with 20+. Excellent.
One interesting Arizona stat
Caleb Love – 40 min played. Did not come out!
-
Anytime you have 15 assists with 1 turnover from your starting guards-- out rebound your opponent by 6-- shoot right at 50 % for the game your going to have a good shot at winning the game
-
Wow, that was interesting. Nonexistent bench production. We had so much depth coming into the season seemingly. I won’t beat that drum of what happened again.
I was disappointed to miss almost all of the first half as I’d recorded the game and prior game must’ve gone really long. When I turned it on there was like 3 minutes left in the half and we had a really comfortable lead. Then they chipped away and we were suddenly losing and I was glum. But then something unexpected happened for this season. The starters locked it down. Started defending, making shots, looking like Jayhawks of old, and put them away. Zona’s a good team, we’re ok. 20 win season again for like 40 in a row and we’ll hear our name called next Sunday once again. Expecting about a 7 seed.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 ya the more I think about it, the more I want to win it m. Maybe our only shot at some hardware
-
-
I am proud of these seniors for today and I don’t want that to get overlooked. This is maybe the most frustrating senior class I can recall but they really played well today. Seniors accounted for 74 of 83 points, 19 of 22 assists and 26 of 36 rebounds. Going forward we definitely need more from Rylan and the bench but have a DAY!
-
I was at the game… lotta Arizona fans there… I sat next to many… always great to see the awe in their faces about the whole Allen fieldhouse vibe and insane energy. Also it was great to see the crowd erupt for Mayo Harris and Adams… not so much Hunter. After the game, for the senior introductions, Self spoke about all the ups and downs, and I think he mentioned a murder… was that in reference to Jaun’s past?
-
@Bosthawk Most likely about Dajuan’s brother.
-
Hunter Dickinson Highlights vs. Arizona (33 Pts, 10 Rebs)
-
@Bosthawk Juan’s little brother was murdered by a supposed friend in his own home back in 2019. Was a big story in the 2022 FF run. Juan’s father whom was a notorious gangster died a few years earlier. Juan was very lucky and credits the Braun family for helping turn his life around. I was lucky enough to meet CBs mom at a game in 2021 and she is a fiery woman that would put most people in their place. As much as I dislike Juan’s game at times, it would be impossible to not root for him. A lot like Jamari Traylors story, Kansas basketball may have saved both of their lives.
-
Anyone else laugh at ESPN having us at an 8 coming into today? I don’t think I’ve seen a rating system with us worse than the mid 20s. I’d think we are a 6 seed at the moment
-
@kjayhawks I don’t think I’d say Juan was lucky. His lil bro was murdered during his first yr here. Coach ask CB’s mom to go help the family out. Pretty sure that was way after 2017. I also remember you talking crap on him more than rooting for him.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 thoughtful counterpoint here about calling Juan lucky.
You might be right about kjayhawks being down on Juan but gotta give people a chance to change imo.
-
@kjayhawks Could be a 7 but beating Arizona will help.
