Bounceback night What a sight

  • @approxinfinity The optics confirm what is reverberating through the locker room

Proven guys from other schools not appreciating the same leash as lesser players but the ones whom dolla bill loves

The pro’s - we won last night and that top play brought the roof down - it was awesome baby with a capital A “paying homage to the great dickie V!”

Hunter was active on d. - kj as well

The cons - isu missed a ton of open 3’s so my view that our defense was stellar isn’t 100% factual when their 3’s were wide open shots

Bill’s quick hook for guys but then allows “his guys” to make mistakes over and over and they don’t get the quick hook. He’s really struggling to allow other senior players who transfer in the same trust/leash as his “proven guys”. Those same “proven guys” have proven they are leading one of the worst record stretches, big 12 finishes and 2nd round bounces in the ncaa’s

The guys who transfer in know this, see this and don’t think it is fair. Frankly it flat out isn’t but Bill has major blind spots and he will never see them.

Defending kj playing the entire second half against Baylor cause he could defend and get buckets is just awful analysis. He and I aren’t even watching the same game and he’s supposed to be lightyears ahead of me in bball knowledge.

I know 60 points in a half means the guys you trusted YET AGAIN didn’t deliver as you expect them to. Hey but let’s keep running that same core 3 out there expecting different results!

  • It’s really quite funny… This year the computers say we are good and the fans are grumpy and saying we suck. Quite inverted from some recent years and I think a lot of it is KJ and Juan fatigue. This is a top 7 team on Kenpom. The way they lost to Houston and Baylor obviously leaves a sour taste…

  • It’s always nice to come in here and see our ol friend kuballin being able to bitch. Bitch i we win , bitch if we lose , I tried helping you man, giving you some relief even found you a team other then here to root for- but noooo,.

Used to be long time ago where a person could come in and be able to read posts have friendly discussion , right or wrong but kuballin has managed to F - - - that up.-- gives me a dam headache.

Question becomes , does your Story have an ending or do you just go on and on and on. reminds me of my ex - -there is a reason she is an ex. Again let me say & I’ll even slow it down for you so you might be able to comprehend a little better and that is- — If - - - - - - youuuuuu - - - are - - – -sooooo-- - unhappy— - with- – - - - this- - – - - team - - - - our Coach- - - -simple- - ------solution is-------------hundreds of other teams- ---- -you - - - - can ----- -rooooooot for- - -lower your blood pressure – -- - -seems really simple.

Funny thing is when we are in the game thread , when were winning---- - – --your like a ghost-- - - - nowhere to be found- – - -but when we lose BOY - -you like this huge hemorrhoid — -a major pain in the ass, lmao

You bring nothing new always the same consistent petty Bullshit – gets old really fast , you fricken wear me out and I’m quite sure there are others that fel the same

Yet I think the real reasoning your here is because you are what is classically referred to as a – - -" PRIME CLASSIC TROLL "- - & the reason you won’t or can’t root for any other team is because you got banned roflmao- – I feel sorry for you, there are times where some peoples light is a little dim— -takes awhile for them to see things- - - but you my friend - -you don’t even have a light switch to turn on – oh and ya so by the way ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY and you have a great day

    Here’s the kicker…

I think we can beat any team out there, but also lose to many. Weird year. I’m hoping we settle into some rotations and see some consistent growth.

  • @rockchalkjayhawk yeah I think a lot of it is effort. The second half in Waco several of our guys were low energy. Particularly noticeable with Zeke.

We all love us some Zeke, but he seemed like he was on drugs or something last night. He took some shots that were kinda wrong time, wrong place – way too early in the shot clock when we need to run some time off, or quite a distance from the hoops. He seemed off last night.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Nice one! I think Juando deserves himself a dedicated post highlighting that crazy maneuver diving in, stealing, and passing the ball clean. Hats off to him - plus he scored more buckets than usual!

  • So the cubs manager, who’s his kid? And I heard Trob spoke to our boys in the locker room, anybody see that anywhere?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 I heard he was there, but had not heard about the locker room

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Craig Counsell’s son plays baseball for KU.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 oh, that makes sense. Guess he should still be in our basketball locker room. Threw me off. Thx!

  • Heard the student section was screaming for Flory. I do understand Self’s view about KJ’s intangible value. However, what about the tangible value of Flory? The only thing stopping him from becoming a national superstar is PT and confidence…. Two areas Self has stripped from him. By March, he could be propelling us to being one of the tournament favorites. KJ has reached his ceiling. And when he has a bad game we usually lose.

  • @SlimShaddy54 you can always block him

  • @drgnslayr If only……the guy in charge could view certain players in the right light

  • @nuleafjhawk Shouldn’t have to come to that

  • @SlimShaddy54 it shouldn’t, but it was so easy and it helped my experience here immensely

  • @drgnslayr

And when KJ is not impacting the game he still plays. Baylor game being a great example. Iowa St he was very valuable due to matchup and switching. Saturday will be the same with us needing someone to cover Hawkins so I expect minimal minutes from Flory. There’s got to be a happy medium somewhere. 15 mins isn’t enough for Flory

  • @StLJhawk Mine too. Block is a great feature. “Shouldn’t have to come to that” is a great idea, but it doesn’t account for the overly large gap in chronological age and emotional age that some of us exhibit. Also, selfishly for me (and a few others, I imagine), it will serve as a prophylactic measure to keep you from feeding the troll. The less these threads focus on him, the better.

  • @SlimShaddy54 its a sad fact that everyone can’t always get along, but that’s life. My suggestion is, if you don’t want to get bitten by the sharks, get out of the water.

  • @rockchalkjayhawk

Tired physically and mentally and one feeds the other. A welcome four day rest for the team.

  • KSU will be frantic and on us hard. Our pissy wissy early game passes won’t help unless but we can avoid them. This game could be our next step in recapturing the elusive mojo hawk.

  • @HoraceZontal i feel bad because i posted that bart simpson pic of not feeding the troll, but i dont mean to catagorize @kuballin10 as a troll so much as some of his posts. Please read “troll” in my context as a gerund, i.e. the troll was the post that preceded it, where @kuballin10 was trolling, rather than that kuballin is a wholesale troll; I believe he has merit in his takes, they just sometimes come out all caustic-like.

  • @approxinfinity Not just sometimes. Usually. He does sometimes have an original idea that’s interesting. But then he tags on the same old Juan or Self bashing, which negates anything positive or novel he might be trying to contribute.

I am hopeful he might someday share an insight that is worthwhile, without adding all that familiar negativity, which is why I haven’t blocked him. But I usually just have to scroll past rapidly when I realize it’s the same diatribe that has lessened the experience of so many on this site.

So don’t feel bad. Your pic was appreciated, and good advice. Engaging just seems to make it worse.

You’re good - I don’t take offense to it and just laugh

I know my tune is more negative because I gauge the team in two ways since around 2001

    1. are they good enough to win a title

    2. are the right players playing based on gameplay observations

2008 I knew we were good enough

2022 we weren’t until Remy happened in big 12 tourney and I saw something we hadn’t seen before. That team was unexpected.

Irrelevant of metrics the team this year is sweet 16 at best and not even challenging for the conference confirms this

The right guys aren’t playing the right minutes

Pair these together and a nice win at home against a top 10 team is fun but doesn’t alter my mindset for what this team will or won’t achieve in March

i’I’ll just buy some shark repellant when it’s on roll back a t Walmart

  • @approxinfinity I don’t know him, but I can kind of empathize. I mean, I’ve been critical of players and coaches here, but at home - I’m an asshole. I really run my mouth to the point where it even bothers me. MY excuse is because I am so entrenched in all things KU I can’t stand mediocrity ( or worse ) from them. I have extremely high standards for KU sports - especially basketball. So a lot of the bitterness stems from disappointment.

Either that or I’m just an asshole…

  • @SlimShaddy54 You might want to re-watch Jaws. The shark usually wins.

  • @SlimShaddy54 “spray in eyes to deter shark…” you sure this stuff really works?

  • @approxinfinity Well I appreciate your caring. But it’s been years of pretty much the same stuff. There may (I stress may) have been some value added early on, but it’s been a drag on the site for years now. There’s a point where having a contrary new take slips into axe grinding.

  • @HoraceZontal maybe. But i feel like this year has brought a lot more debate. Some of the things which we all historically gave Self the benefit of the doubt on have been discussed in more depth this year. And someone has to be at the extremes since we are all different people. So I hesitate to endorse throwing all the shade at one or two people. And while I dont think we should all be extremist (therein lies madness and misery) those who are more polar do facilitate the tension that is necessary for discourse.

As long as we have their endorsement to call them trolls to cut the tension 😉 block is there for a reason obviously, but I have kind of soured on cancel culture personally.

  • @approxinfinity I can definitely see your point of you. For me, it’s a much better experience without that input. And you make a good point about more criticism this year, but to me there’s a difference between critique and spleen venting. I welcome the former, but don’t tolerate the latter very often, at least not in adults.
