I see we added DeAndre Harper from SEMo St. The way I see it he can fit one of three categories.

He kicked so much ass at the D2 level that the staff thinks he can be a good player for us.

He was not that good but he has measurables, athleticism, and three years of eligibility left, making him a good project player.

He is not that good and doesn’t have that much potential either, but hell, we need a body.
Anyone have any insight as to which one he is?

Little bit of all 3? Film at that level is decent. Huge human. Need bodies. Kind of a perfect storm.

Huge get - -Huge get- -got a commitment for Jahil Hurley coming from Alabama – DB- -6’2 - -185 , will have 3 years of eligibility - -top 50 recruit in 2023 - - Hell ya

Jahlil Hurley was a huge get. 3 years to play. Former top 50 recruit.
Staff seemingly doing good work thus far in the offseason

Is Jack Tanner any good? I read he only started 4 games at Tulsa last year

Hey Farmer Jayhawk m buddy I’m trippin- - the Staff is just absolutely killin it.- - Three Portal commits today which one Tyler Mercer is a true Freshman All American
Got another on a visit right now WR from Alabama would be really killer to get out Second commit from the portal from Alabama his Name is Emmanuel Henderson- -their people saying he is going to be really good.
Then another bonus got a High School kicker to commit today also from Branson Missouri - -Dane Efird – has video of him kicking 48 yard and 54 yard Field Goal and a 73 yard kick - -off I would be fine with that, give some time add a little more strength- -Hell ya

Her is one ofthe things I really like about Mercer. True freshman-- making All American, but what I really like is he took 565 snaps- - - -gave up ZERO SACKS in those snaps --and only gave up three pressures- - pretty dam decent. – He chose North Texas over eighteen other D-1 offers

Read we were 2nd in the portal class nationwide right now.
Also read that JUCo’s can now have 4 years of DI eligibility. Add in a redshirt year or two and a dude can be in college for 8 years.
Also also read that there are teams in the playoffs that are paying extra NIL money to kids to stay through out their playoff games. Penn St. lost their backup quarterback to the portal. Insane and it may cause me and many others to move their fandom to other sports/activities.

I have to admit I both love and hate the portal. Fun to follow but the timing of it lacks logic.

What do we make of the TE transfer from Arizona? I see he has decent but not mind-blowing receiving stats. Does anyone know if he is a good blocker?

@Jhawk69 All I know is solid player and word is should help that position for sure. Don’t know a bunch but for what it’s worth was a 4 * coming out of High School , transfer out of Arizona

Well I see that Coach L - -& staff have had decent day today picking up our 13th & 14th commits.
First we got a big TE think he is 6’6 can add help for sure to the TE room , he will have one year of eligibility - then we got what I think anyways will help for sure, although maybe not next yr as he is still considered a Freshman and will have four years left. - - His name is Caleb Redd 6’3 and 2230 pounds might be nice to add maybe 5 more pounds or so but was considered a 4* coming out of high school; had offers from Nebraska , Oklahoma , Oregon , UDC , And Wisconsin coming out -sounds like he might have a bright future,
The one thig I think that becomes more of a priority then any position more so now is WR – just have the one commit at this point, a big need at that position.- - -At this point Rivals has us as the 5th best recruiting class in the portal-- -doing well

@FarmerJayhawk That’s great, that’s like I said earlier, I think probably our biggest need now. They have done pretty good with Defense got some LB’s Safety , DL.- -they have had a great portal - - solid anyways,
Farmer have you heard anymore on HiShaw is he returning or not.- -I know or people thought he was done, but lately been seeing he might be back. What have you heard ? – Anything at all ?- -could sure use him.

Well that would be a nice bonus, I think you put him and Williams together nice tandem , still think we have a couple of younger guys Stewart and hell what’s the other one ? - -Johnny something can’t remember his name. I think were set pretty decent
