I Know it's Pointless, but what if. . .

  • Arterio Morris got a federal court injunction against KU’s dismissal from the team like Terrence Shannon did at Illinois? I have to admit I was really disappointed that Shannon played out the season for Illinois despite a Douglas County Kansas pending felony case, while Morris languished from juco team to juco team due to a Douglas County felony case that just got dismissed. Shannon’s charges remain pending. It doesn’t help to speculate about the charges and the reasons why cases get dismissed. I’m really wondering how much Morris would have helped this year’s team. We didn’t see him on court enough to tell how he would have fit in with the rest of the guys, but I remember wishing for another scorer throughout the year just before Johnny got going for several games. And, another scorer would have helped replace Kevin’s points when he got hurt. Maybe, Morris was dismissed for reasons other than the pending charges, but I sure wonder if Morris hired a lawyer and got an injuncton if that would have been a positive for KU, expecially with the dismissal of the charges against him.

Counting the minutes before this post gets ugly…(sorry, flop)

  • Not worth it. Some things are bigger than shooty hoops.

  • I imagine Self would “vigorously” coach someone who obtained a court injunction forcing the team to take him back. I’m a coach (not basketball and not at this level) and my inner sadist gets excited just thinking about the possibilities.
