KU vs UCF Game Chat

Gameday, first conference road one. Unknown place, unknown team. UCF got blown out by Kansas St Saturday 77-52 in their welcome to the Big-12.
UCF overall is 9-4.
They lost to Miami by 16, Stetson by 3, Ole Miss by 2 & K-St by 25.
They are 0-3 against Power 5 competition. Kenpom #86, #25 rated defense.
They are led by Ball St transfer Jaylin Sellers, 6’4 guard is averaging 17 ppg.
I’m not going to jinx KU but this team is not very good, not very talented. It will probably take a Topeka YMCA type bad game to lose this but with the line at only 7.5 it does give me concern we will play down to competition.

Torvik has a projected spread of KU -3 and KenPom is KU -6. So this game might be closer than we want it to be. Hopefully it is not.
This should be a game where KU comes out, and forces the ball to Hunter to get some easy baskets, and hopefully build a lead.

Your right , they are not very good, they look awful, yet like you say we sometimes have habit - -a bad one at that of playing down to our competition , let’s just go out and curb stomp them lt them know, how the Big 12 really is

I have zero idea how both arrive at a line so close. KU traditionally very good on the road in conference play facing a team that doesn’t have a roster built for success in this league. It is a home game which is always worth some points but man it’s hard to see the logic otherwise. Same UCF team that was absolutely blown out 4 days ago.

Can’t find much video on their arena. Found this on Wikipedia, though. “ The arena is 252,000 square feet and boasts a capacity of over 9,400 for basketball, and has 17 luxury suites. As of January 2022, the attendance record for the arena is 10,011, the arena’s first and only ever sellout crowd, for a March 22, 2017 NIT Quarterfinals matchup with the Illinois Fighting Illini.”

Bottom line is UCF just isn’t very good according to stats at shooting the ball on the Season.- - – 43 % from the field - - -68.8 Ft % - - &- -32.3 % from the three. - We need to have a solid game and play without it being a one or two possession game coming down to the end
