@FarmerJayhawk - Wow! Very impressive on many levels!
-
I’m available if the price is right. Just so you know, I’ve never lost a game from my couch.

I’ve never lost any game on a field, so move over potato!
-
@mayjay lol. I’ve never been on the field either.

Hearing this could happen on Friday if it does happen… What are the odds that it does happen?

From what I’ve seen looks like it’s almost a done deal.-- Now, I’ve read where might have been a verbal handshake --FWIW- -gonna be a really big loss if he goes just hope it doesn’t effect our recruiting and or we can get a really good OC to take his place.
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich I can’t put a number on it but was told last night “uphill climb” to keep him
-
@nuleafjhawk That could be our tiebreaker. I coached softball but we lost. If you never lost in sb, you get the job.
-
Is it money or opportunity he seeks? Might be able to match the cash, but if he wants something else that’s just too bad.
-
@mayjay I played football and basketball in high school. I sucked. I’ve always loved sports though. I also coached my son’s little league baseball team and my daughter’s softball team for 9 years.
Because I’m bored, I’ll tell you a stupid softball story. One year the softball team was doing very well. About 3/4 through the season we were undefeated. The girls weren’t great athletes, but they were smart and they listened.
We had a tournament in Hays, Ks one weekend. We were very blue collar. Our uniforms were T-shirts and shorts. We arrived at the field in a caravan of 12-15 cars. Something like that. We were just throwing the ball around, waiting for the other team to show up.
When they did arrive, the game was over before it started. This team of Olympic athletes rolled up in a Greyhound bus, team logo painted on the sides. They’re all wearing pinstriped uniforms, each carrying monogrammed duffle bags.
I could see the fear/awe in our girl’s eyes. I called them together and gave them the David and Goliath speech. It worked well.
We lost 62-3. In 3 innings.
-
@nuleafjhawk I lost 62-23 in an intramural game in a law school league. I am 6’ and was the center (vertical = @ 4"). The other team’s front line had a 6’7" former TE from the UMich fb team as their center and two guys 6’4", and their guards were both 6’2".
I held onto the big guy’s wrist one time as he jumped for a tip-in, and he took me higher than I jumped the whole game. He came down, laughed, gave me a low-5, and said “Good try!”
We had zero points or rebounds from our erstwhile center…
-
@mayjay Lol - good stuff.

My comment isn’t necessarily about Coach Andy, but maybe. After seeing Jason’s nearly perfect performance against Cincy, I’m really pissed our coaches didn’t start him against KState. Unless available means he can’t play, why the hell didn’t our best QB play in the game that means the most to KU fans in Kansas? Ballard played his best, but he’s nowhere near the QB who was declared available before the game. For me, the KState game was the most important game on the schedule. Maybe Coach Lance doesn’t understand how much a W against KState means to us. Even if we win the bowl game, I’ll still remember the W that KU should have gotten against KState.

Remember the Texas game and how bad Bean played in that game because he didn’t get practice reps. If Bean didn’t get many practice reps during KSU week, then he likely wouldn’t have played well in that game.
-
Available != healthy. A wounded Bean with basically no reps was a bad idea
-
Does anyone know whom we might replace Kotelnicki with if he does go to Penn St?
-
I wish the Chiefs were having this discussion instead of KU.
-
Have the bridges between us and Brent Dearmon been irreparably burned?
-
@Jhawk69 it would be a little ironic if the guy that found JD came back to coach him his last year.
That being said, Jesus himself has a better chance of coordinating KU’s offense next year than Dearmon
-
Yep, it’s done.

Also some chatter Borland may hang up the headset

Borland not as big a loss as K -dammit though , I know you told me 24 class was god , but still worried if K & Borland both gone that could cause issues

Leipold did promote Jordan Peterson to co-defensive coordinator so I’m guessing Borland won’t be back next season either.

Wouldn’t surprise me. He’s had some health stuff this year too. TBD
-
This is the penalty for success folks. I hope they try to keep him for sure. One argument is the Penn State has gone thru an offensive coordinator every 2 years on average since Franklin has been in town, most of which were fired.

So I wonder how Peterson stacks up ? – - -Has he been with Coach L for some time ?
-
@jayballer67 Peterson was a holdover from Les’s staff. He’s gotten G5 DC offers in the last year and rumor was A&M made some overtures since he’s an alum.

So you think if he were offered here he would stick & would he be a quality DC ?
-
@jayballer67 oh yeah he’s solid. Absolute monster recruiter too

Well that really sounds good then < hope we can retain him then offer him the Dc and keep continuity
-
Bummer. I’m hoping we can hold on to our other coaches and especially LL.
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich we good

I feel somewhat encouraged by Zebrowski and Peterson having just received promotions.
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich Continuity is fantastic.
-
Hey Farmer buddy , so with Coach Zebrowski now being Co Oc-- they stated he had a handle on the offensive Scheme my question , do you think we try and keep the same Scheme Coach K had ? – I hope w can
I was just listening to a podcast and they were saying even though Nationally -they actually thought the promotion of Peterson in the grand scheme of things was even bigger retaining him. Kinda of what like you said ( SURPRISE ) lol that he is such a huge recruiter and had his foot print all over this 24 class including very much our Arizona trio -and talking about how current or a good portion like him as the Coach alrady, will take some of the pressure of losing players & recruits. - Does this mean we won’t lose some players, no - -the change might make some players change their mind - -maybe transferring or whatever but don’t think it will be massive - -thanks for your input bud.
-
@jayballer67 for sure. It wasn’t just Andy’s system. Zebrowski, Lubick, Lance, Andy, and Fuchs all had input around scheme and game planning. Not much will change for the bowl.
