  • @jayballer67 Dook has a better record both over all and in conference. Is 29th in the Net and has 3 Quad 1 wins with 3-7 record in those games. Plus they just beat UNC.

Right buddy I was thinking the same thing. - - Duke has been fighting injurie all season with one’s like Lively & Whitehead - -big losses through the year. - -Having said that though still think overall they have under preformed

  • Fouls by the trailing team when the team leading is trying to inbound the ball should be an intentional foul inside of 2 minutes.

  • @jayballer67 for sure , people want to give Self and us KU fans jazz about our short comings make me laugh. Look at how many more top recruits and draft picks UNC, UK and Dook get over us.

  • Come on TCU

  • @kjayhawks said in Other games:

@Jethro there was a time when everyone thought Smart was better than Self 🤣🤣

It’s easier for some folks that hate us to criticize KU when they don’t have to reveal who they really root for. They know they’d be mocked, ridiculed, and scorned. I get that on Twitter a lot. Those are probably the folks that think “Shaka is smarter than Self”, I would bet. Because they really have nothing else. It gets hard for our competitors to say much. Bill went to 36-0 on Big Monday yesterday. He has 2 national championships. We’ve won 17 out of 20 conference championships. I mean, once you get over 80% win, you’re literally the elite of the elite. 91.7% against the Top 5? Insane. So, haters have to go back decades to throw shade on us. It’s fine with me- their hatred is a badge of honor.

  • This is going to push UK to “last four in” territory.

Absolutely must win games the next 2 for them

If UNC and UK miss the tournament and hoooo boy

  • Lmao TCU just got fouled 3 times in one possession, results in a fast break for KSU… would have been a 7 point game, now an 11.

  • Well, with Calipari as the coach you know the offense isn’t going to be good, so a Kentucky team that doesn’t play defense is going to suck.

Just funny to think how far UK and UNC fell after their 2021-22 seasons…

  • If UK can’t make a comeback, this is the game that breaks them I think.

Not sure you can salvage the locker room with this loss

  • TCU absolutely getting hosed by the refs

  • UNC, Duke, and Kentucky all competing to be the next Indiana

  • Indiana is looking good. Wouldn’t sleep on them.

  • @cragarhawk

    Playing at home helps

  • Nice seeing Tucky lose. The NIT should be quite exciting with UNC, Dook, and Tucky.

  • @Jethro

They will probably all decline to play but the point still stands, it’s on the verge of happening.

Wish that would be the case, but why do I anticipate that the powers that be will make sure they are all in the field???

Like it or not, Duke actually has a solid tournament profile (albeit, not 6 seed), which includes non-conference wins against Xavier and Iowa.

UNC and Kentucky have no business being in the tournament based on results to-date.

UNC is 1-8 versus Quad 1 and has no non-conference wins of note.

UK is 1-7 versus Quad 1 and also has no non-conference wins of note. Also, a Quad 4 loss. Totally hanging its hat the Tennessee win in conference play.

Those numbers are by far the worst of any teams that show up in ESPN and CBS brackets (only one close is Auburn). Teams slotted behind teams that have much better profiles.

They are both relying on name brand and not terrible NET rankings.

  • Boy, UCLA and Arizona have cupcake schedules left for the year. They play each other, but no other games against top 25 teams. I have no idea if they are really any good. Pac teams usually show up in the tournament though, so who knows.

  • @DCHawker I’d bet my life without question that all of them don’t get left out. At this point it is very debatable if they belong in. I’d say Dook is the only one deserving of a bid currently. But TV and ratings matter, Oklahoma got in a few years with Trae Young tho they were in 70s in nearly every rating system in America.

  • @BeddieKU23 will be interesting with the NIL especially in football if they try to make players play in bowl games. One of the key reasons I’m glad they are expanding the playoffs. I still laugh at KSUCK fans that brag for beating LSU with 38 players and no coach.

  • @DCHawker

Duke is still in as of today and they are probably a safe bet to stay in unless they collapse. The schedule looks favorable for the most part for them. We’d kill for their schedule right now that’s for sure.

  • @DanR

They are the only 2 teams that can get in the tournament at this point from the Pac-12. Next highest ranked team is USC at 51. Imagine playing that schedule!

  • Sadly the Badgers went into a swoon after Tyler Wahl missed 3 games for ankle injury and hasn’t really been the same since. As much as the Jayhawks have lost since New Years, the Badgers have lost quite a few more and just look really bad right now. They’re playing their way into the NIT I’m afraid unless something clicks. They have 2 wins since January 3.

  • Pretty interesting that when you ask who is a blue blood the names Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, Indiana, UNC are the most commonly thought of. Us and UCLA are the only ones playing at a high level right now, and of course, that’s even a debatable term for our team. Students at Indiana and UCLA have never seen their team win a NC. Kentucky fans in HS basically don’t remember a Kentucky championship unless they really paid attention as 6-8 year olds. So there’s really only 3 bluebloods with recent success, the 2 carolinas and us of course.

It’s a cautionary tale. It could happen to us. Some slippage is going to happen sometime…I think? Lets enjoy the ride now folks!! Making the tournament every year since 1990 is a record that may go unbroken for a long time in sports. It’s making the postseason for 33 years in a row. We have the best arena in American sports…possibly, Wrigley and Fenway, and Cameron would have their supporters. More than half my life has been consumed by KU basketball and all of the attending fun.

  • @wissox I unfortunately think those days are coming with the transfer portal and NIL. I feel we will be lucky if Self is here in 5 years. According JB @ Syracuse Jay, Roy and K all retired because of it.

Virginia played their first ranked team since December 20th last night. Talk about cupcake city.

You guys look pretty bad right now. Every time I look they’re losing.

  • @Jethro Stop looking please!

  • @kjayhawks I hadn’t thought of it like that but the NCAA has opened up a can of worms that might destroy NCAA sports someday.

  • And down goes Tennessee 66-65 - -to Vandy

  • Lol Tennessee with a bad loss to Vandy

  • Clones get upset at WVU. I’m glad as their obnoxious fanbase is quite annoying. LOVE seeing mighty Vandy steal one from the Vols. Rick Barnes is always the best coach in America in Nov and Dec, and one of the worst in Feb and March.

  • Holmes needs to make a call!📞

  • So does KU have control of their own destiny now or not? JK

  • @DanR said in Other games:

So does KU have control of their own destiny now or not? JK

Since ISU lost, the answer is yes. We control our own destiny to at least tie for the title…

  • Mercy the WV / ISU was ummm to say the least kina sloppy-- - pretty physical -There was some questionable calls - - -BOTH WAYS- -but still just a typical WV game- -many , many , many fouls… Give them credit though they are playing better - -Glad we played them early in Morgan town

The Big 21 is just a war zone , just beating the hell out of one another day in - day out

  • The fighting John Denver’s help us out tonight!!

  • @DCHawker the charge is deciding games!

  • I’m thrilled the cocky sucker stopped calling 📞 and Grill didn’t get the call at the end. If he would’ve made the easy bucket instead of trying to get the foul, he would’ve made it. Then he whined and wasted seconds. They must train and do charge drills and flops.

  • @Jethro Reverse jinxed the Badgers. Leaving Happy Valley with a win. 5 quad 1 wins for Badgers.

  • @DanR lolz

I can’t believe how much he complained after literally not getting touched.

  • Nearing a bleed-out in Lexington…

I’ve always believed Calipari was a fraud. Still do. Big-time recruiter: yes and no. Yes… capable of recruiting highly-valued recruits… no… capable of piecing together great teams. This year, case in point. Players capable of scoring one-on-one. Players REQUIRED to score one-on-one. A PG like our Juan would have never been considered by Cal. If he was 6’5" or bigger… maybe… if his ranking was Top 10.

What I now wonder… if Kentucky falls further… and if that even means no March Madness… is it safe for Cal to walk the streets of Lexington without a bodyguard? Sounds crazy? Or does it?

As much as I dislike Cal, I don’t wish him or his family harm. I think he best find a new position soon and he for sure better fight like heck to make the tourney. With their remaining SEC conference schedule, I can see an easy potential for them dropping another 3 games. If they drop 4 and don’t win one against a higher-ranked opponent their March tourney possibility becomes considerably diminished.

Their only hope now is for several one-on-one players to take over games.

In a last-ditch effort for Cal to save himself he’s (once again) relying on a gimmick to save him… hoping fans can stay delusional and satisfied next year…

    https://www.kxan.com/sports/sports-illustrated/bc5c0f3f/report-rondo-working-to-join-john-caliparis-kentucky-staff/

I halfway expect to see Drake on the sidelines again next year.

Things are downright ugly in Lexington now.

  • @drgnslayr fans want him gone. Bad…

But I think the buyout is insane. Will be atleast another season after this one I think before they get rid of him
