Thank you, Kentucky!

  • Thank you, Kentucky! You seem to always give us what we need.

Last year, you gave us a beat down in AFH that got the attention of our guys who then realized they needed to step up and go on a roll.

Tonight, you helped us by losing and giving our fellas a needed uplift and confidence builder!

While we are at it… talking about self-confidence… I’ve been talking often about our body language not being there, especially for Kevin.

    How’s that for body language?

Kevin’s game may not always be as “pretty” as others, but he gets the job done. We don’t come anywhere near winning this game without his effort. He was often the shadow defender in the post on Tshiebwe. “Double-double” Kevin was the difference on the boards, particularly limiting Kentucky to only 4 offensive boards. Nothing short of a miraculous effort by Kevin and all our guys!

This was not one of our prettiest games, didn’t need to be. Somewhere in the first half we figured out how to defend Kentucky and Tshiebwe enough to pull slightly ahead and keep it that way until it was over.

  • Rupp rafters is such a mess right now it is so fun to read.

    KU absolutely breaking that site

  • @drgnslayr

Funny how a game that has no conference impact but does have overall seeding implications has turned into the pivotal game in back to back seasons. What a great momentum builder for Tuesday

  • Kev was “Mahomesesque” in battling through his ankle roll. Without him, not sure we win. I hope that his playing so much yesterday won’t be a factor come Tuesday. We need him.

World of difference. - I think also I seen them starting to come out a bit against Baylor even though we lost. - - Tonight was huge , The big thing - - we didn’t bury ourselves early double degit deficit. - Yet I saw Ol KU play coming back - - they had some swag. - -Evey time Uk challenged we always had an answer. - late in the game - KEVIN and J Will had HUGE 3’S

Jalen haas been such a stud this year , wish he was the NPOY - -he won’t be but he needs serious considering, for sure proven that this is HIS TEAM

  • @Kcmatt7 I had to go check out their site after you mentioned it. Here was one of the better sour grapes whine I saw about how UK is not the gold standard anymore:

“I think we all have acknowledged we’re like those fake gold chains you buy off Amazon that after a month turn green once the gold paint gets a little wear and tear on them”

On that we can agree, my sad Cat fan. Best of luck in the NIT this year.

  • Did anybody see pregame with coaches? Cal was a real whiner, but I can’t remember what he said.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 You mean post-game? Or did Cal whine even before a game? Kinda early even for him!

  • Before

  • @StLJhawk

Imagine Tshiebwe had transferred to Kansas?

Guess he would already be a year in the NBA and sporting a NCAA Championship ring…

  • Thinking back on the game, Self outcoached Calimari badly in this.

They had a plan for Oscar that worked enough to win the game. They were also able to exploit Kentucky’s poor middle screen defense.

    Thanks Cal!

  • It was on the pregame show. A smart a$$ remark really
