It won’t be that quick. This time next week it could be done.

Been hearing some other names tossed around. STILL just fully believe in the end when it’s all said and done now - - going to be Leipold Or Monken - -dam those aren’t spelled right but you get what I mean lol

Well , just from everything I’ve been hearing lately is - -it just sounds like Monken just might edge out Leipold. - -I just can’t honestly say exactly how I feel if this turns out to be the case. I want Leipold but then who am I ? - -just a fan that’s all.
I have heard skuttle butt that if he comes that yes he is agreeable to change in offensive thinking - -He BETTER, that offense he ran at Army will not cut it in the Big 12. - -He very well might be a decent Coach, like I’ve read were probably not going to get much better chance for a Coach other then him or Leipold - -that’s who I want . I’m sure in time if it is Monken it will sink in and we go from thre.
I’m just ready to get this Coach hired and move on- - let’s get this done

Oh yeah there’s a 0% chance Monken would run flexbone triple option at KU. Rumor is he’s got his OC in the bag to bring along but it’s a bit flimsy right now. Looking more spread option.

I dunno Farmer , but what you think ? -I just feel that whoever comes in really should give Jones a chance to remain on Staff. I just think the guy has THAT connection with these kids, pretty good recruiter , just think he is to important of a piece of the staff to lose. - -I guess the big thin is though would Jones even want to remain on this staff if he isn’t hired as the HC. - -he just seems to be able to relate to this group and remain leary of mass trnsfers if he isn’t some kind of piece in this program - -what you think Farmer ?

Leipold is still #1 on my board. I’m fully prepared for the very casual football fans to hate the hire because he has the charisma of a tomato our last Buffalo hire didn’t work out. I feel very strongly whoever gets the job will retain Jones.

Seems like things are spinning again , sounds like Monken chances might have dropped some - -some say they would be surprised not to see him at Army this fall , seems like Leipold might be gaining steam again. Also read the Texas A & m cord name pop up - -Ecko? - -is that right?

understand buddy just had my heart set on 1 A - - as long as Monken can get an offense that works in the Big 12. - - I sure hope they retain Jones in some capacity

Something just bothering a little. So , we have taken all this time to find that RIGHT Coach Ok , I get that but having taken so long to decide find that Coach mean while back at the Ranch, this current roster has now went through an entire Spring Conditioning , learning an offense and getting to really no know the guy that got tagged as an Interim Coach , a guy that by the way a lot and I mean a lot happen to connect with and like A lot Now I know before it’s even said in any response - - -you don’t hire a Guy as your head Coach just because the players really like him - - True I get that I mean ya think ? However it is really nice to have a Coach that the players CAN connect with and more then ready to bust their Ass for. , do anything for. Where I’m hearing that very possibly the new Coach we do hire - - umm not so much not really a Coach/player type of guy
So actually here is the big thing I’m trying to bring out in the bigger picture overall scheme of things is : This thing has drug out the entire Spring. What would be so wrong to give Jones THIS season to show what he could do ?-- Hell who knows he might even surprise people be more competitive - -win games - oh dear parrish the thought can’t be. YET what if he did ? - proved people wrong , dam we will never know if he wasn’t given that chance At this point what’s ONE more shit season if it doesn’t work out with him? - were sure the hell no worse off then we are right now - - - can’t get any worse.
With him having a Season to show what he can do - -you take a big less chance of player exodus/transfer out with another Coach. - -With it taking this long , WITH Jones you have a team that knows the Coach - -we have a OC where the have had time to learn his approach.
You are now brining in a new Coach - -and that Coach most of them want to bring in their own staff, were right back at square ONE - -AGAIN. on top of mass exodus chances are the new Coach has his own choice of an OC. So now the kids have to start all over new Coach - - New OC - learn yet ANOTHER offense in the fall and once again turns into one giant cluster F - - - .
Who can say 100 % that a NEW Coach being brought in Now would do any better ? - -you can’t say he would - -so nothing to lose.
Don’t get me wrong having said this - -yes we need change , I just think the way the timing of this played out – is just BAD TIMING. With it now that it is think maybe would of been better to play the Season out with Jones and who knows may surprise - if he does - -Staff remains the same The Connection with the kids are already there - If he meets expectations you simply remove the title of Interim If not? - – - then you have the off Season to do the Search. - -just random thoughts

Well the big ol pushover Marshmellow me - -got to say I just became impressed by Monken , looks like he might have the inside track. - -Took a peek off other site LJW had a couple of really good video’s of Monken one when they were getting ready to play Michigan and his speech to the team and the other after their win against Temple - got to say got me jacked hyphd up -course that’s pretty easy to do.
If I can’t get my number 1 Leipold then this guy would work , looks like really invested motovaitor. - -I’m ready , check these video’s I like it - -also watched him Mic up at practice pretty cool. - -let’s do this

Got this from one of Army sites. : Black Knight Nation can confirm , that Monken has made calls to assemble a staff to take with him to Kansas. The number of Assistants Monken could take with him is not as many a one would think

Likely getting a promotion when presumably Monken is official.

Should be official within 24 hours. I think Monken brings his DC, goes external for OC, rest of the staff stays.

not so sure about that. From what I read of the knights message boards said he was making calls for his staff but wasn’t near as many coming with him a what you might think

Take a deep breath. Goff is doing his due diligence on this which if Jeff Long had done a few years back, wouldn’t have KU in this situation today. It also doesn’t really make much PR sense to announce the day before the spring game. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the official announcement doesn’t happen until Saturday during or immediately after the spring game.
