I was going to post some stats about how KU should shoot threes more anyway but then I saw this KU team has actually kind of crawled out of the sewer in regards to 2pt shooting %. It’s still not great mind you, but it’s out of WORST BILL SELF TEAM EVER territory so there is that.

Why play at Gonzaga where about 32 of the max 40 games are against just shit competition??? If someone is a top 30 prospect and they don’t go big 12, big 10, acc, sec, or pro…I automatically think they are weak minded and when pressured they will fold. Maybe not in the college game, but talking nba.

Early in the year they were trending to be the worst two point % team in Self’s tenure at KU. They are up to 49% on the season which is actually a big improvement.

Gonzaga’s built a pretty good basketball culture at this point, and some players probably want to play under Mark Few. WCC is not horrible and Gonzaga usually plays a decent OOC

@bmensch1 If you can go 4th in the draft, avoid injury and avoid having your weaknesses exposed in a P5 why not.

Zag’s schedule is definitely inverted. OOC way stronger. Sometimes SMC and BYU are decent.

This Iowa st team could go 500 in the wcc. They usually UNC and some other high profile team. I’m sure few is a good dude and makes the most of his players…Suggs is good…I get it…but its a weak play in my book.

St. Mary’s is down this year so BYU is their only real competition in conference. Not too many of Gonzaga’s players leave early so they have a lot of continuity in the program. Also something to be said for being the only game in town, not to mention being the big fish in a small pond .

Thats one of my main complaints…I want to like the NBA so much, but weak conferences inflate stats and “playmakers” to the point where they are now in the league and take a spot from someone deserving.

Gonzaga plays more than a decent OOC schedule. Few is willing to play anybody before the conference starts, and they typically do play a top flight schedule. He knows that he has to overcome the WCC drag… This year alone he scheduled KU, WVU, Baylor, Iowa, UVA and Auburn. NOBODY else does that…
