He used to make up for his offensive woes with fantastic d but his defense has been fine to even bad at some points this season.

@approxinfinity I’d say point guard is the weakest link. We don’t have anybody who would do better than Marcus. Jalen is a nice idea, but unlikely really to be an improvement.

you don’t need to look any further as to why we lost - - TO’S and 3 pt shooting - KU 18 TO’S WV 12 - - - -WV shooting 10 % better from 3’s Dave and Jalen had nice stat games but yet both had their share of critical TO’s

Culver and Dave both have 17-9; why does it seem like Culver has dominated???

@tundrahok yeah. Well I think Jalen could be an improvement and Tristan at the 4. But Self will never bench Marcus.

I genuinely wonder what Jay Wright does with this roster. I hate to be that guy, but is he 16-3? I think he is. I think he would have leaned into the guard/wing heavy roster. He would have found a creative way to manufacture assists. He would have posted up Ochai and Wilson against smaller players.
Bill is an inside out guy and that’ll never change.

@DCHawker Culver has 4 in the second half. Hasn’t felt like he’s dominated to me.

We played good defense for a while to start the 2nd half but they just kept making guarded shots and then it all fell apart again.

Have a hard time feeling much of anything about this one. We played really hard. They went out and made a ton of junk. In the past we could weather that because we had the talent, but just don’t have it this year. Only one top 50 player played today (Dave).

Oh but the 3 best players for West Virginia today were 1 top 100 a juco and who knows what McBride was ranked. Developed talent makes a difference

And we split with them. About what you’d expect given the winner in each had a whacky outlier in shooting
