The first picture on their shoot around IG post is DP so they’re really, really sure he’s good to go.

I really hope he can play and grow with the rest of the team from here forward. I can only imagine the roar he will get at AFH if he able to go next home game. Maybe we can put this all behind us and focus on building throughout the conference season.

Well then, i didn't read most of the UCF game thread. How's everybody feel about DP and his play and minutes today?

He was mostly awesome when he played. I thought Self said he was 100% ready to go? Then he sat pretty much the entire 2nd half, sitting in the corner with that stupid muscle machine thing. Why bother if you know you aren't going back in? Are we getting to the point where his teammates resent him? This continues to be a hot mess.

The outside world seems to be roasting DP for quitting on the team. I still don't know what to believe. Annoying as hell.

If I am to believe Self (I admit that is growing increasingly more difficult), and he's on a minutes restriction, i'm 100% in favor of keeping that valuable team chemistry we built without DP starting, and have him come off the bench. Seems like a natural fit if he's limited. 6th man. super sub. microwave.

            So, the saga continues...

@rockchalkjayhawk Well said. Much less caustic than I would have been (but I'm trying). I say make him the highest paid cheerleader in the country (besides Melania) and let those who are able play. The on again/ off again is probably doing more harm than good.

America! Where you have the right to be wrong.

@BeddieKU23 I definitely agree with everyone that we want to see him as a full participant asap. It just hasnt been a problem yet. But at some point it will be.

                I think it's a problem now.

My guess is that DP plays in the first half and sits almost the entire second half

                  Good call.

If there was a minute restriction, which would be reasonable his first game back, then Self didn't manage the time well, as we needed him on the court the last few minutes. I suspect it was DP saying he was done for the day. I have never known an athlete who wouldn't push to enter the game in the last few minutes when his teammates need him, but then I have never been around anyone with his future income potential. I am so torn. Maybe the highest paid 6th man (off the bench) would be best for team chemistry.

@imajayhawk Self was saying he was on a minute restriction and they screwed it up. -He said also that Darryn was doing good to start the 2nd half and then his knees started to act up some

His knees? That’s new. So now we have yet another body part on a 20 year old that is hurting? Yikes.

Btw, I forgot say that when DP was out in the second half, I kept waiting, thinking that Self would put him back in at the 4-minute mark. Save him for the stretch run. bummer all around.

Womp womp. Self is handed a ready to go day 1 generational talent for the first time in his career and we’ve gotta deal with this stuff.

Genuinely think this team is a contender with him. 1st weekend exit without.

@Kcmatt7 with a healthy DP, yes - contender. But at this point we need to forget about him and I think we can still be a contender

Self is starting to take a lot of hits among fans and media by maintaining silence. I hate this dumb culture in so many ways. We're talking about a game. It involves 5 kids throwing a ball around and 5 kids trying to stop them and we can't be told why he can't play all game? Because it looks like, depending on who you read that 1. He's protecting himself for the NBA. 2. His parents are in the stands signaling him to leave the game 3. Adidas is influencing it. 4. He's truly hurt. 5. ????
