@BigBad I sometimes wish that football were not a thing so that every other mens sport would get more funding. But that is not football’s fault or womens sports’ fault. Just tired of the money dictating everything.

I think DP is definitely injured to some extent he has not been even remotely explosive in a KU uniform. We just have to hope at some point he plays the game we are paying him millions to do. I still think as my PT friend has said playing on limited minutes and working thru the tightness is his best option. To me if he doesn’t start playing it’s safe to label him and his family as thieves. They pretty much stole the NIL money at that point and should be held accountable for such IMO. Makes a guy wonder how the rest of the team feels about him. I’d be calling him a baby back B**** every day if I was on the team.

@kjayhawks2.0 imo you got it backwards. Last year I resented Hunter for PLAYING and getting paid millions to be completely meh while we had a top 5 big on the bench behind him.
I don’t think anyone should resent DP for not playing to date because if anything it has allowed other guys larger minutes and opportunities to showcase and grow at a Blue Blood, and we have the right guys to make that a good thing.
This won’t hold true all season but to date I dont see any reason guys should be negative about DP

“He’s wondering if he doesn’t have either something genetically wrong at this point or it’s BS. The whole ordeal makes zero sense to him in the slightest.”
Yup, this pretty much sums up my thinking. the whole ordeal makes no sense. Something’s amiss and us fans are getting the runaround. If he’s truly injured in some way, I respect that. Heal up. But cramps are not an injury (if it’s cramps). That’s an imbalance in your body. Shouldn’t take a team of scientists to sort that out. Players are competitive and wanna play. Weirdness.

See I’m in disagreement with 99% of the fan base, last season Hunter got the ball and had 3-4 guys surrounding him instantly. If that team had any remote threat of a scoring guard, they probably get to the Final Four. Our guards this season are light years better than the last 2 years.

@rockchalkjayhawk Listening todays media conference after last night game is proof to me that Coach Self has absolutely no say in Darryn's whole ordeal. They got hi by the B - - - -
Self was talking about some time line then press asks something like and Bill says oy YA, oh YA THE PARENTS have the say for sure have a day and Bill says and I agree they want him at 100 % & Bill says Darryn wants out there, and he wants out there bad.
Bottom line for me is that this whole situation is that the Parents & his Agent & any ball handlers all the one's calling the shots-- -- not Darryn and not Self & it's not calling any shots what IT IS ---Darryn get kicked in the Ass by people's comments , Self is reading script on how he is suppose to answer questions about when he will return, Like now he says he is really close , but just not quite there.
I think this will continue and at best he plays about one half of Conference games or they shut him down totally

Give me 13 fist half minutes and 7 second half minutes and call it good. If he can get 12-20 in that time great but still leaves room for the team that has started to really gel to have some fun.

You rang the bell a lot about the benefit of the team without Peterson and I'd say it's worked. They have improved with being forced to step up around his absence. At least this situation doesn't seem to be negatively impacting them which again is kudos to having a team with chemistry.
The real season begins now and we need a full team to be competitive in this conference. The whole situation with Peterson is frustrating. We were sold on this great steak dinner and all we've gotten is the bread with butter so far

@BeddieKU23 I definitely agree with everyone that we want to see him as a full participant asap. It just hasnt been a problem yet. But at some point it will be.
-
It's certainly a problem. To me it feels 90/10 that he just shuts it down after this next try coming up. When there's 50 million in your first nba contract on the line the prize really isn't playing here from a business standpoint which is sad for all of us fans. They say he's super competitive and wants to be out there and yet we have 10 DNP'S to start the season. I have no doubts he wants to play but then why isn't he. That's where the problem is from the start. Perhaps us fans don't understand how difficult these injuries can be. A broken something would at least require surgery recovery time etc, something with a known timeline. This has been painful hearing day to day for weeks and even months. Something has to give coming up.
