New 2019 Recruiting

Has Doke played too much for this season to be considered a redshirt?

It would be a huge win to get Doke for next year. 20-21 is fantasy. He’ll graduate sometime next year so at that point he’ll be wanting money, not a masters.

  • bcjayhawk said:

@FarmerJayhawk It probably doesn’t help Miller that UA is sitting in the 9th spot in the Pac-12 with a 5 - 5 conference record and currently have a 4-game losing streak going.

Right. He does have an incredible class coming in, but at some point you can’t outrun the law, whether that be the kangaroo court of the NCAA or the SDNY.

  • Still can’t believe Edwards to Georgia was real. Still can’t believe anyone would want to play for Tom Crean.

    Money talks

  • @Kcmatt7

Hometown hero gets to put up 20+ shots on a losing team and get to the NBA as quickly as possible

  • Daniels CB’d Cole Anthony to Roy. Dang

Who else was still in play? Oregon?

  • Can’t blame him with how well Coby White has thrived under Roy this year.

I honestly had stopped paying attention.

Change my mind but I think Cameron Thomas, his teammate at Oak Hill is as good or better then Anthony and he’s only a Jr. I’ve always admired Cole’s game but man that Cam kid is something else.

    Have you seen Cam?

  • @Kcmatt7

If White goes pro seems like Anthony is waiting to take that spot

  • Has ANYBODY heard anything at all on Hurt’s recruiting since his visit to KU? - -I think his OV’S are over right? - -I thought he might of mentioned SOMETHING by now - -but been pretty quiet. -how is people feeling? - -I still think we got a good shot - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer73

He still has one official that he can take. Last I saw Nova, Indiana, Minnesota and Memphis were in the discussion for it but he never did say which one or when they would get it, if he did. I don’t expect an answer with this kid til April… but to answer your question haven’t seen anything

  • Seems to me that Hurt wants to see who stays and leaves before he commits.

  • Hurt is averaging near 37 pts a game, 12 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals and blocks per game. He is 4th all time in Minnesota scoring with over 3000 points. He is only 58 points from 3rd all time. Shooting 65% fg and 45% from 3. He would change a lot about next season’s projections if he comes

  • Hurt is absolutely a game changing recruit. With the right returners he would make KU a top contender.

  • I’m just hoping that Self letting him bomb away from 3 on the U18 team was enough to convince him to come.

  • I wonder if Q and him ever really talked during that.

  • Kcmatt7 said:

I’m sure he is being told he’d get the keys like Dedric.

  • @BShark One could say he could really deal out “Hurt” on opponents.

Yes. I feel as good about Hurt as I have in quite awhile. I think he’s done with visits and will announce for KU around the end of April.

  • KU still recruiting Tristan Enaruna

It was the best that we have seen Tristan Enaruna play to date as he looked like a legitimate NBA Draft target while competing against some of the most touted international prospects. Enaruna sports a great frame that he should fill out and while he has been knocked for his toughness in the past, he did show the capacity to play through contact and take the bump before finishing at the basket.

Eraruna remains at his best as an ambidextrous playmaker in the frontcourt that can throw precise passes on the go and also convert on nifty off-handed runners in the lane. What put things over the top was his consistent perimeter jumper that we had never seen before. He was one of the biggest stock boosters in Charlotte. The Netherlands native is currently hearing the most from Creighton, Kansas, Miami, Texas and Texas Tech.

So is he more of a 4 than a 3 at the next level?

Not sure I haven’t seen him play. Just a few highlight videos. At 6’7 205 he could develop into either. We need post help and I’m not sure he’s really the answer for that. I think KU is keeping the pot warm in case they can’t get Hurt or Achiuwa

  • @Kcmatt7

    This is rivals blurb

Wherever he does end up, one should expect a playmaking forward that is ambidextrous to a certain extent, can play either forward position and should make for a positive impact on a high-major playing floor from the get-go.

  • I see where he un-officially visited Creighton - said that he has built a relationship with McDermont - -also said that KU has made him a priority ever since offering him in November - -and now Kentucky and DUKE showing some interest

Hasn’t set up any official visits yet. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Self is out seeing Enaruna tonight.

Kid has moved into the top 50 on 24/7 sports.

  • @BShark

Likely to keep rising with the blue bloods after

  • 247 now lists him as 6’9. Did he get measured recently to gain those 2’?

Yeah I was thinking KU could close on him but if Duke and UK offer all bets are off.

Always been a fan of his after checking him out. Haven’t seen him in person obviously since he is in Utah currently.

  • @BShark

KU being in this for a while should help. I think. Who Knows. I hope he doesn’t have a handler

  • Read a comment from Ryan Noel talking saying Draft Express had a big write up the NBA talking about his NBA upside and it is limit less or something to that degree - - Noel saying he has a feeling his # 90 something was about to take a big jump. - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer73

247 bumped him into the top 50 after the Without Borders tournament.

Draftexpress did a 4 minute interview with him going over the usuals. Nothing ground breaking but he did impress scouts in a tournament that’s been a springboard for some top prospects in the past.

  • He’s almost 6’10 now. Legit combo forward.

  • Wanted before, really want now.

  • The more I watch/read, I think my favorite thing about him is he’s basically ambidextrous. Natural lefty that shoots with his right.

Watching his old Euro - U16 tape - looks a lot like what Svi did over there. He was basically the PG and easily the best player and took all of the shots and just scored way too easy. I’m glad that he is playing in the US now at an academy.

  • @BShark Let’s get him.

  • Precious is taking an OV this weekend??

Was this known before now? Just saw it reported…

  • It wasn’t, but he’s coming for the KSU game so I’m pretty cool with that. Building will be lit up.

  • Nice to have a big time visitor on a big time game

  • This is Precious first OV right? That has to mean something. He has been pretty tight lipped about everything so I would take this as a positive that he is coming.

AFH should be unreal Monday night. Hope the visit goes well.

Seems like KU has a pretty good shot.

  • Also going to UNC for the Dook game. Last I heard Precious was pretty open. Visits will be crucial.

  • Well this could be a good thing - - like has been said - -The Phog will be jumpin/very loud and alive. - -This is the 1st time he has been on campus right period?

Hope we can give him an experience he will never forget. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Looks like the staff is also recruiting Harlond Beverly a teammate of Precious. 6’4 guard. Looks like a top 75 player. First I’ve heard of him.

  • Well precious coming this weekend for the K-State match up – then he has also scheduled his 2nd visit - -on the 9th of March for the North Carolina - -Duke season finale in North Carolina. - -We need to rock the house down with him this weekend – show up strong raise the rafters. - - North Carolina fans just don’t seem they give that kind of atmosphere - -more of a tennis match coffee and crackers atmosphere - -Now if Duke was involved with his recruitment and they are but I don’t think they are considered as strong maybe wrong - but just need to make that impression.

Also read that even with Hurt taking his officals - -that seems still to be NOT EVEN CLOSE to making a commitment. - -The article said even after his visits he has been keeping anything pretty close to the vest - - says he still has an official visit he could take - - -BUT has shown NO indication that he has a desire to do so. They said has shown no indicators of where he might go - -yet said seems like the most behind the scenes buzz is between Duke & KU - - but would not be surprised if he announced for any of the 4. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONGBABY

  • The Dean Dome is going to be insane when Dook comes to town. With any luck I’ll get to go and report back how it compares to AFH against a legit opponent. Even this year against KSU won’t be as good as UK in 2014 and the epic OU game. But it’ll be a fun comparison.

Still really like our chances with Hurt. I think UK is out. Keion Brooks seems like their guy at that spot. UNC is in a similar position to us. They’re losing Maye and almost certainly Nas Little, so there’s a boatload of minutes at the 4. They’re also probably getting Cole Anthony, which is really appealing. And then Duke is Duke. White dudes love playing the 4 for Duke.

  • @Woodrow

Athletic guard. Seen a bump in his ranking playing on a good team. He’s ranked appropriately and would be a nice 4 yr guy for any Power 5 school.

I think he’s more of a plan B type if Stanley stays West and Grimes doesn’t return. I don’t think he’s better then McBride or Braun so I’m not sure how serious the staff pursues him. Doesn’t hurt to be involved though

Last I saw he was listed at 6’7, now 6’9 and Farmer saying he’s a legit 6’10 now. So he’s grown, not uncommon. I still don’t view him as a true post player though and I think fans thinking some 6’9, 6’10 fast rising player is going to replace Dedric or whoever else leaves from the front court this year is begging to be disappointed. He does look like he has the tools to develop, in time into more of a hybrid 4 man

  • @BeddieKU23 he was sassing you because you did ’ for feet and not ‘’ for inches.

Agree on Enaruna he won’t be replacing Dedric’s load. I was very interested when he was lowly ranked and projected 4 years. It is possible now that he could have unrealistic expectations from some. Hurt is still a must get imho.
