Seen a lot of praise for Nnaji long-term. I agree, in a few years this kid could be a steal for whatever program has him in the fold. At his size and versatility your talking the modern day big-man in the NBA. At KU Self could use him in a variety of ways as I think he’ll be more then capable of playing both forward positions. Ideally, Zeke is the 2nd big KU gets in this class. JRE and Hurt are freshman impact bigs. If KU can go 2-3 out of this trio we’d all be ecstatic.
Remember when Zeke got the KU offer that was big for him. Could have been his dream offer.

@BShark I just love the idea of landing Wiseman lol. Not for any other reason than seeing UK fans heads explode. Rupp Rafters would have a meltdown for a full week. A GoFundMe would get started so a private investigator could be hired to look for something shady. People would start the “Faaar Cal!” chant EARLY this season. It would be just one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen lol.

Duke’s board has been in meltdown mode for over a month.
They just had a Top 100 guard on campus for an official visit and didn’t offer him before he left. Fun stuff

FYI Arizona’s insider believes it would be " a pretty big surprise" if Zeke Nnaji didn’t end up a Jayhawk. That was his response to a thread about him. Interesting stuff, Jason usually is pretty good with his intel

@BShark Well for sure they would. I guess my question is is that really a likely option? Obviously KU isn’t going to take Zeke if they think it is going to hurt them with the big 2. So does KU not feel as good with Hurt and JRE or does Zeke have to wait until those two decide…?
Also JRE should decide early correct?

@Woodrow I think if we see Zeke pop for KU, it’s a fairly clear signal that Silvio is leaving. Jmo.
In terms of KU’s major targets and timelines
McBride - should announce for KU within the week.
JRE - Fall signing.
Nnaji - very likely to announce in the fall, but might not be in time so sign in early November
Stanley - should be a fall decision and signing
Hurt - likely dragging out until spring.

It’s Arizona’s insider, Zona made Zeke’s Top 5 so that’s telling at the moment. Flood of Wisconsin also put one in for KU on Sunday. Wisconsin was recruiting him for a while and Flood is usually pretty good. Certainly looks like the word is out KU leads or likely could get him. Positive news

Which is why I think they wanted him over Jacobs. McBride is definitely someone I can see shooting 40% from 3 as an upperclassmen, among other things

Self has a bit of thing for tough combo guards that can shoot it.
From what McBride has said recently it sounds like KU was the first school to actually get serious about recruiting him. That kind of thing goes a long way.

I think it’s HUGE that Zeke is coming back for an official the weekend AFTER the un-official - -I think it’s funny as hell that Kentucky didn’t make his cut. - -Not saying he will land here - but I just think it is a very positive sign. - -I realize we are the 1st visit but that’s ok.

Call me crazy, but I would wait until JRE and Hurt decide before I take a commitment from someone that might push them away. Those two have been the centerpieces of this 2019 class for sometime now. Not sure why Self and Co would stray away from that.

I’d take Zeke in a second if he wants to commit, sort out the rest later. Very good shooter for a center.

Probably because Hurt is still kind of a wildcard at this stage. I think KU leads but that’s also not worth much given how little effort Matt has put into the process so far. If he’s scared off by a multi year kind of guy, doesn’t say a lot about him as a player.
But 2/3 of the big targets looks pretty likely at this point. Then we can sort it all out come spring. If Silvio is back I’d start him at the 5 anyway.

Well how about some good ol he said / she said- -got this off the Phog So anyways read where a poster said and this is the he said/she said, that supposedly there was a guy that had talked to the Bishop Miege Coach and that he had said JRE was going to UNC and if he didn’t end up ther he was going to Norte Dame .
Well another poster brought up some pretty solid points about that they were. - – -He said if this WAS the case found it interesting that if JRE Miege HS Coach was as important influence - -JRE would not of left him to go to Florida to develop - - - - - -Then he said That this was all said right after the UNC Visit and BEFORE the KU Visit --so that is something that wouldn’t be surprising for JRE to say- - - - - - - Then he went on to say that with Coach being a Catholic School Coach bringing up Norte Dame also not surprising. - just thought the guy brought up some pretty solid points about the old he said/she said - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
