@HawkChamp Self only seriously recruited Marcus Smart. They never seriously pursued Forte like OSU did. It was known that Smart and Forte were a package deal and Ford recruited them as a pair and Self focused primarily on Smart.

And this is why you can’t rely on offense. One bad shooting game and you are out of the tournament. UCLA can probably get away with that this year, though.

Why would you say that? I’ve seen a whole host of teams that played great defense getting beat. You have to have an offense to win the championship. If the round ball doesn’t go in the hoop. You get no points.
