KU away at Lizard Lair Game Thread
-
A win is a win is a win.
Happy New Year Bucketteers!
-
I’m thinking the team will pants KSU, but we shall see.
-
@RockChalkinTexas Same to you. Much more fun to come this year. Wow!
-
Whoever said that about oregons court, makes me want to take a chain saw to it!
-
@Bwag imagine if bosie state had an all blue floor to match FB lol
-
@stoptheflop Not for UT or Okie State I hope.
-
KU can’t shoot free throws…oops…
KU can’t rebound…oops…
Perfect first game for JJ. Humbling experience. He will work his ass off not to repeat it…
-
the home opener against our wannabe rivals. yeah its gonna be fun
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Big 12 road games are always tough for freshmen. Even superstar freshmen. He’ll come around.
-
well said!
-
@tundrahok he’s a quick study
-
All to together now 1 2 3 Landon Lucas!!! Return of the Jedi. Thata boy.
-
@kjayhawks he keeps surprising me! Oblique injury? Scratching my head
-
@DCHawker Guess the line moved from 4 1/2 to more…
-
huge game from him. he really played his butt off
-
how about Vick tonight. huge shots!
-
can you get kenrich williams hair on the way
-
Josh found out what Frank meant when he told them that conference games were totally different from non-con. Glad to see our fans show up.
-
another good one.
Jaylen Fisher’s idol is Slim Shady
-
@BeddieKU23 his doppleganger is a musician here in Austin called Malford Milligan. I swear. Wish I could post a picture.
-
We had:
1 more 2 pt shot than TCU
1 more 3 pt shot
1 more FT
1 more rebound & assist (PF’s ended up at 20 each)
Where the game was won since our %'s weren’t necessarily better than them was the 15-8 TO margin, giving us more attempts to get our extra made shots.
-
@kjayhawks And us in our road Blues…
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Looks like someone did almost.
-
@BeddieKU23 weak-slim shady
-
Home sweet home. Welcome back to the Phog, guys. Next two games.
-
@Bwag chain saw?
-
As if we didn’t see enough purple we got KSU on Tuesday.
-
Here you go. I wasn’t kidding.
-
Jesse nailed this:
If he can stay out of foul trouble, Landen Lucas should nearly be guaranteed his first double-double of the season. Against TCU, he should have opportunities to score with angles inside and a chance to hustle for offensive rebounds against a team that has struggled in this facet.
-
WVU fans claiming the league title after one game, I can’t say I should have expected anything else from UK’s brethren.
Edit: Time to close twitter.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Yep he’ll learn that picking up those T’s is gonna cost some laps, or better yet FT’s-like in the’s
-
-
@BShark Let them believe the hype that ESPN gave them and put themselves in a false echo chamber about how good they think they are. That’s ESPN’s job to talk up our 12 yr run so as to get eyes to watch every one of our games. They aren’t stupid. They know it impacts their bottom line and right now they need the eyeballs watching.
-
Amen sister.
-
@globaljaybird I think running the steps worked well with another player before!
-
-
I disagree - Carlton actually played pretty well. His rebounding numbers were great. Also ran a Perry style pick and pop perfectly.
-
I expect more from Bragg! Much more
-
@HawkChamp You are right, Bragg played really well. Quality minutes and was good on boards. Still needs more muscle under the hoop. Overall very solid. And I take back everything I said about Landon early on. Colossal game for LL.
-
@Fightsongwriter landEn
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I don’t know about much more, but I think there are a couple more things he could do, such as running the Perry pick and pop about three or four times per game, not just once
-
@HawkChamp quit missing layup after layup! Boxing his man out!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 the layups yes, but I think he had ten boards
-
Watching UCLA - Oregon State. Close game - OSU not the most talented of teams. Just the nature of conference games
-
Bragg has head issues right now. He’s hustling but he’s not focused. I don’t remember these issues last year, but I also don’t recall is expecting him to be strong inside.
Either way, he’s gotta get his head in the game.
-
@chriz he didn’t look focused in the game? I have been one of the most critical of him but I didn’t watch the game and come away thinking that.
-
@HawkChamp Bragg looked better, imo. 9 rebounds.
-
The Frosh looked like one last night, but what’s wrong with DeVonte’? He was absolutely horrible. Couldn’t make a layup, couldn’t cut off the dribble half the time, missed open passes. Bad, bad, bad and yet KU won.
-
Upon further review (and getting past the fact that TCU is on the front of their jersey) I don’t think it was too terrible. Now sure there are things to improve upon but… Did better than Vegas and Kenpom predicted. TCU as of now IS a tournament level team going by RPI and Kenpom ratings. All this with Josh as a non-factor and Graham was practically mia as well.
-
@HawkChamp maybe I should watch again, and maybe my expectations are too high for him, but just little things like not catching passes he should catch, not being aware of mismatches, not rotating on D quick enough, not making many smart plays.
Like I say, he hustled, but wasn’t playing smart. In my opinion.
