  @jaybate 1.0 “I want ESPNU to hire John Riggins to broadcast a couple of KU games. I know he didn’t play basketball, but now that he is clean he is fun guy with a great sense of humor and understands what athletics are all about.” Plus… I want to know the truth about him hauling kegs over his shoulder up the hill to “The Wheel.” It might take an entire season of “The Diesel” just to clear up some of his folklore trail left behind… I heard he still does some occasional NFL talk radio out of WestwoodOne in D.C. If anyone in here knows when he’ll air next, let us all know and we’ll blast the lines with questions from his college days!

  @approxinfinity Yes we can… I’m asking everyone to post in here the players’ positives… so everyone can be recognized! Jamari deserves plenty of accolades for how much he has lifted his game this year! I don’t think he receives enough praise since he isn’t a starter… but he’s lifted his game as much as any of the players coming back. And look how much he is helping us just by deciding he would create Kevin Young-style energy into games! That was just a mind thing where he decided to take on that role. Amazing how much of this game is played with the mind! @Crimsonorblue22 - also thumbs up to Greene and Frankamp. We are going to need those guys to play solid in March. I loved the Greene pass to Ellis for the finish on the break. We need guys to get out and hustle up more open court offense. That is one area of our game we could improve and see huge gains between now and March! Conner is getting more comfortable with his shot. He’s at that point of his development where he is becoming a solid scoring threat. We can’t have enough guys who can bang 3s!

  For my starting five the first player I would take would be Doug McDermott simply because he is the best player in the country. Next I would take the best point guard I could get. Marcus Smart probably is the best, but I do not like him so I will instead go with Shabazz Napier from UCONN. Then I would take Embiid because he already may be the best center in the country and he will continue to improve. Now all that is left is to take good wings. I would first take Jabari Parker. Then I would take Lamar Patterson. So this would be the starting five: PG: Napier, SG: Patterson, SF: Parker, PF: McDermott, C: Embiid.

  Practically next door to the Kimble is the Amon Carter museum. Also excellent. And if you like cowboy art, they have a great collection of Charles Remmington sculptures.

  @globaljaybird – You’ve hit on a key point with me. I know there is some embellishment to all movies, but I’m more into the one’s that portray an actual event. I bought and read Lone Survivor after I first saw Marcus Luttrell do an interview. Now looking for an opportunity to see the movie. Can’t say enough about spec ops guys. My last assignment with the AF was at Hurlburt Fld, FL, which is the home of the 1st SOW. Those guys need wheelbarrows to carry their cahones. Hurlburt is also where the Doolittle raiders practiced carrier take-offs.

  @drgnslayr Agree that OkieState fan was a big clueless, but I wouldnt bag totally on Okies as Self definitely was/is one. That’s probably what keeps him in the Midwest, unlike Roy bolting for his home. Of course, the positive spin we can put on Self, is that he learned a lot more about high-level basketball from Larry Brown while sitting on the KU bench as an grad-asst. Not sure what Calipari learned. And Self continued to learn from Eddie Sutton, who of course is from tiny Bucklin, KS. Self also met wife Cindy after a KU/OSU game in Lawrence…
