Notice I said to “watch.” I used to play softball with friends, but the keg by home plate is what made it bearable; I am not sure if we ever completed a full game since the end of the keg was usually the end of the game. I have lots of friends that love playing golf…and they also are the only one that enjoy watching it. I have tried golf and I did OK, but I never really enjoyed it; I need a lot more action in my sports. My brother and friends used to fish a lot and he would tell me that fishing is a good excuse to do nothing; likewise, golf is a good excuse to pay lot of money to take a long walk…albeit in a very nice and safe setting with a few (or many) drinks along the way.
Now, let me tell you what I really think…
I would say hat the current setup is working fine. I usually click on “Unread” which display topics from all the sections anyway, so to me it is not a big deal.
By the way, the new format/font is a lot easier to read and also to write posts.
I was born in Topeka during a short period of time my dad was a civilian after being a SEABEE on Saipan during WWII. He returned to the Navy with the Korea thing and served until he retired in 1968. Needless to say with dad’s service time and my 20 years in the AF, I spent little time in Topeka.
But that didn’t keep me from being a Kansas fan. I now live in Bush, Louisiana, which you may or may not find on a map. It’s general location is about 55 miles north of Nawlin’s and midway between Covington and Bogalusa. Bush consists of 3 gas stations, 1 grocery store, a post office and an all you can eat seafood place that’s only open Thur thru Sunday.
I’ve been in AFH twice. First when my youngest son attended Roy’s camp and once when we lost to Iowa St. When my son and I walked out of the tunnel onto the court I actually got goosebumps. It was awesome. My son is still a KU fan as long as they never play Clemson. A bad habit he picked up when we lived in South Carolina.
We’ve been in the dome for the disappointing '03 and '12 FF’s. Looking forward to the next one cause they say “the third time’s the charm.”

He will most likely follow the Ricky Rubio approach of honing his game professionally in Europe, and making a lot of money in the process, and coming to the NBA when ready.
Having said that, the fact that his parents are teachers might influence him to try college here, but I would say it is a long shot.

Yes it is, to play in the second semester of college all you have to do is pass your first semester.
It is not that simple. The player has to be enrolled in certain number of classes to be eligible to play. At KU, the Athletic Department has volunteer monitors that make sure athletes go to classes, otherwise they might not be allowed to play or could even be suspended. Once the season ends, the school has zero leverage over a student-athlete that is leaving for ther NBA.
If a student-athlete leaves before the end of the semester without finishing the school work, the Academic Progress Rate (APR) is affected. Syracuse lost two scholarship when 3 players left school to prepare for the NBA before finishing the Spring semester. KU has been lucky so far that even student-athletes leaving early for the NBA. stayed on campus and finished the semester, and thus left in good academic standing and allowed KU to maintain its perfect APR. It is very likely that students planning to move to the NBA take the very minimum number of classes (electives) that will allow them to stay eligible, even if they are not making a meaningful progress towards a degree, so they can finish them early and leave in good standing.

By the way, Hall of Fame Nebraska Track Coach Gary Pepin was coaching at KU when I was there. He still brings his squad to the KU Relays each year.
@Crimsonorblue22 Well, they certainly have gotten some great PR in the last week or so. If their current accomplishments can translate into funds for a good cause, I think that’s a noble and savvy move by Marshall and WSU.
Nowadays, there is an Internet stream for most every game, and I expect the NCAA would have even more options. This how I got to watch the KU games that were blacked out early in the season. You just have to be careful as many of the sites are nothing more than virus factories.
As @JRyman mentioned, I believe that CBS streams all the games, you just have to sign in to their site but it not a big deal. I am not sure what is the protocol for early round games that other networks broadcast.
@JRyman I despise Snotleib, the Okie St homer. The great news is I have a remote control that allows me to change the channel, or even turn down the sound. I don’t need any help from Big Brother to fight my sports announcer battles. I have a Hall of Fame coach, with an exceptional group of players who are more than capable to make Snotleib look ridiculous. Plus, the president’s staff has far more pressing matters to deal with, such as issuing their statement concerning Justin Bieber.
@RockChalkinTexas I forgot that Wilt was a Globetrotter! Man, I remember watching Scooby Doo cartoons when I was a kid and I know Curly was on the cartoon, Not sure about Wilt though. Maybe he was too.

@Crimsonorblue22…Oh I know, having spent time in Alaska, Newfoundland, Washington, Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado and Kansas. It does however help to make Christmas complete. Shorts and t-shirt is just not right on Christmas.
