@civilhawk Me as well, Civil!
I’m also thankful for all you guys and your manyfold contributions to a constant stream of Jayhawk consciousness, and Jesse Newell and his outstanding insights, and the other writers that produce the quailty KU stories we devour… the KU Sports guys, Rustin Dodd over at Kansas City Star, kenpom, Bilas and the other guys who started tipping the collective media cap towards the last decade of Jayhawk dominance, and back to all things civil, a country where we can afford to pontificate over our favoUrite (and thanks Julian and the Node BB guys! I can’t spell favourite without U!) sports teams.
It’s been a good year for sports, and a good year in general.
I was 17 had a full ride somewhere else my parents neighbor took me to AFH for the Mizzou game. I sat row three face level with the 1968 cheerleader and Jo Jo White, I didn’t use the Full ride.
Since Nixon was president I have hated Norm Stewart, loved KU ball, and miss the cheerleader uni’s from old.
Always crimson and blue … … today they look like little junior high gals to me but when I was 17 it was true love!
HEM slyer 100 miss all you guys didn’t we have some fun in the day, yet I wont’ join facebook and I won’t answer Google demographic questions and I will read the stories w/out comment.
Peace out.
I think one of the simplest and also free photo tool, Picasa will do nicely to reduce the pictures to manageable sizes. It can be downloaded here, Picasa.google.com. Once you have the large picture open in Picasa, click “Export”
Then you will get a prompt to reduce the size to anything you want.
Drag and Drop is supported at least by Firefox and Chrome.
@lighthawk I know it’s barely even a considerable option, but espn3 can be watched on replay in the blacked out areas almost immediately after the game airs.
I put in a plug for kubuckets. We’ll see if it stays up. LOL . The facebook policy is idiotic. I’m tempted to set up a few burn gmail/facebook accounts just to be able to lob a few turds at a couple annoying commentrs once in a while, but I’d feel kinda bad for Jesse Newell who I guess has to police the place.
Liking the discussion here though…keep it up! … back to lurker mode.
I think the thing is that a team with as much raw talent as Kentucky or KU can improve rapidly just by playing together and getting more comfortable.
Yeah, Kentucky has been rough these first couple of exhibitions, but you have to recall the team with John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, etc. that went to the Elite Eight nearly lost to Miami (OH) at home (took a jumper from Wall with under 10 seconds left to win it), and only beat Sam Houston State by 10. But they went 35-3. They had some close calls where they had to lean on their individual talent, but once they got through that, they ripped off a 19-0 start.
I don’t put much stock in the exhibitions because they are working out kinks. There’s a ton of talent there and that talent will carry them until they can put the rest together. I think KU will have a similar season arc where we may need some individual heroics early in the year, but can get rolling as the season continues.
33-5.
I think this team drops at least 2 non-con games, but come conference play, outside of OSU and Baylor, I don’t really see anyone in the conference that can beat KU. They have too much raw talent to cough up a game to a bad team like TCU or Texas Tech, because Self can just keep going to the bench until something clicks.
I can see losing once in the Big XII tournament and there’s always a chance to drop one in the NCAA’s. A 33-5 season would be an incredible run. That probably won’t be good enough for a title, but it would be a great season.
