… that someone has exposed which were behind a paywall. I’m merely acknowledging its existence.

@mayjay Black people certainly are not a monolith who all have the same desires and beliefs so yeah simple solutions will not work.
My complaint is if everyone thinks like the appraiser in the article that well it’s not really our problem, nothing is going to change. It’s going to take all of us. To me at this point, if you aren’t thinking about how your industry is contributing to systemic racial inequity and trying to actively promote equity, than what are you doing?
As you and @FarmerJayhawk illustrate, the issue is so vast and multifaceted it’s impossible for one organization to solve on their own. To promote a more equitable society takes a MASSIVE collaboration between government, community, and industry. If a person in a leadership role can look at those massive disparities and think, meh, not my problem, than I don’t have much use for them honestly. Just get out of the way and let someone who cares lead. I get that it’s hard to think about because of all the variable you rightly raise but to refuse to address it is in my opinion immoral.
@Hawk69 who are you referring to pretending to be a doctor, Trump? That one is orders of magnitude worse.
Pretending to be Native American or black for personal gain is not great, but I think it’s a little silly for Krug to identify it as a “violent act”. I’d be more inclined to call pretending to be a doctor, leading to loss of life as a violent act.

Lol at the right constantly talking about the “indoctrination of our youth” and then their fearless leader literally signs an order doing just that
Schools certainly shouldn’t teach history from a CRT/1619 frame. They also shouldn’t teach only that America is awesome and has never done wrong. Both sides can shove it.

Trumps new “medical” expert. Dr atlas, goes right along with him. Hinting around about herd immunity. Although denying it. Fox doesn’t even want him on!
Fun thing about them! Atlas, MD is a subscription service in Wichita. I really like their delivery model. Give them a set amount per month, have unlimited visits sans insurance. Nice guys too.
Though as right as they are on a delivery model, they’re just as wrong on herd immunity. The data from Sweden are unambiguously bad.
I was born and lived in Sulphur until I was in kindergarten before moving to Houston. Still have a few family friends in the Sulphur/Lake Charles area and I believe they all evacuated once reports came out Laura was going to be worse than Rita was back in 2005.
The Weather Channel was holed up at the Golden Nugget which is on the south side of Lake Charles on the Calcasieu River and one of their reporters, Stephanie Abrams, was on air doing a report last night a little after 1am when glass from the balcony above her shattered and she had to quickly run back inside the hotel for cover.
I really want to drive over and see how the house I lived in when I was kid over there cared, but I really wouldn’t be shocked if it sustained significant wind damage last night.

@approxinfinity guess nobody gets your question. It looks like it’s cold, so not lately. as far as counties, which wasn’t your question, we have 2, Wallace and Rawlins without any cases. Jewell co has 13 cases.
Right…@FarmerJayhawk said he didn’t know. My response wasn’t to @approxinfinity it was to him mentioning Jewell Co not being hit by hard by the Covid. Don’t see any complications.
Lol I gotta pause here guys @mayjay @benshawks08 (I like where we ended up on your last post) . A good stopping point for tonight for me. I really appreciate the thoughtful conversation. Needed it. I’ve been deep in a shell for like a month and this is the first I’ve really felt like talking. Thank you.
And our AG says the governor can’t mandate masks in school, back to the counties again. At first I thought he said it went back to May when our KS lg took her rights to Issue EO’s away, but then AG said it’s in the KS constitution. Not an expert in that field. But, I think the school or school boards can mandate them, and I feel confident they would. I wouldn’t trust the counties at all! If the no mask parents had a choice though️ we’d be doomed. Trumps kid won’t be in the classroom. Just today, since wed, 1005 new cases and 18 deaths.
KSU’s president has announced that KSU cannot legally expell the student for his George Floyd comments which I think most here knew that was the case. They are creating some new diversity programs to appease the student athletes since expulsion would be illegal in this case.
