DaJuan Appreciation Thread
Let’s send some Jayhawk love to our PG.
Where will we be without him?
Ever since his first year, our team looks different (better) when he is on the court.
The guy is genuinely modest, no hoopla, just goes about his business without drama.

RE: UNLV - Any Bets?
I am still SMH on how quickly things have gone south.
When you invest more in a program, losses hurt more. Thats why I am feeling it more this year.

RE: Super Bowl
What an epic Superbowl.
Hats off to the Niners, the played really well.
In the end Mahomes magic came thru…

HAPPY NEW YEAR (2018)
I’d like to take the opportunity and wish all members of this board a very happy and prosperous new year. I hope that this coming year and beyond bring prosperity in our lives and peace in our minds. At the same time I hope that this year is a special one for our basketball team.
If I have offended anyone with my past posts and comments I ask for your forgiveness.
Happy New Year.

RE: Super Bowl
After reflecting on the season, Chiefs are Super Bowl champions because of their D.
-
RE: Generic soccer thread
How about KU Women Soccer.
They beat West Virginia in Big 12 semis yesterday, big upset.
They have won 6 games in a row.
-
RE: Big Dave M Appreciation Thread
We miss you Big Dave and hope that you have a long and fruitful professional career.

RE: Bill Self Playing Favorites
I feel blessed to be able to watch this game in person. I was extremely disappointed by Grimes. He seemed to be lost from get go and was making bad plays, he was completely out of it. While Marcus was not scoring points, he was still playing with great hustle and energy even in the first half. His D was much better than Grimes.
Self mentioned it in the post game that he decided to start Marcus so he can get players who were playing best, and I agree with him there that overall Marcus was playing much better than Q.
Overall I was really impressed by Dotson. Its hard to tell on TV but watching in real time action the kid is super fast and plays with great intensity the whole time. He is going to be a star.

2025 Baseball Season
A bit early but offseason has started and teams have started to make deals.
To my pleasant surprise Royals are keeping Wacha on a 3 year deal worth $51M.
This is a good move to keep starting pitching intact which was Royals strength this year.

RE: St Joes Game Thread
Playing Harris takes pressure off Marcus. I loved his poise.
To me Wilson is the most improved player from last year.
Nice come back for Braun.
Abaji needs to keep shooting.
Enaruna has talent and length, hope that Self can give him more PT.
Bryce will be a star by next year.

RE: Ochai
@BShark Yeah
I’ll take 4 years of Devontes over 1 year of Traes every time.

RE: Miami Hurricanes Game Thread
Remy is such a cool and calming influence for this team even for the coach
-
RE: Border War Game Thread
I do not recall any KU team in recent history that looks so much better when one player is on the court and likewise struggles when the same player in not playing.
That player to me is Juan.

RE: KU vs TCU game chat
I am impressed by P Braun, he has exceeded my expectations coming into the season. He plays with great energy.
-
RE: Tourney hopes
If team is healthy, I like our chances.
We have tourney experience, played on big stages.
We have senior leadership.
We will play with chip on the shoulder.
We have HCBS.
-
RE: Good Gopher coming to KU
KU also got a commitment from a high caliber DE from Miami OH. He was 2nd team all MAC last year.
-
RE: Chiefs
With Pats losing to Colts, Chiefs are at top of AFC, what a turnaround. The #1 spot with bye week is crucial.
The next 3 games are going to be dogfight as well, all 3 teams vying for a playoff spot.
Let’s keep rolling.

Emabarrassment on National TV - UK Fans
So I was watching the game with my 14 yr. old son and if I remember correctly, with about 48 seconds left and UK down by 8 points, one could see UK fans leaving the arena. You could see rows after rows of folks leaving.
I mean their Star Big was on the line for two FTs to make it a two possession game but many UK fans did not care. I bet one will never see such reaction by KU fans.
My son was shocked and made a comment that it is embarrassing for fans of a program with most wins to leave on an ESPN Game Day event with so much time left in the game. I mean UK players were playing hard and it was still a close game. Any thoughts?

RE: JUST BEAT THE TCU LIZARDS
KU made some mistakes, but kids fought hard.
Kudos to Bean, while he made couple of key mistakes, not enough practice reps, he still had a solid game.
We also missed Hishaw.
-
RE: LB Gay arrested
He was having mental illness earlier, he had openly acknowledged.
At least he did not touch his girlfriend.
He should get anger treatment therapy in the offseason.
-
RE: Gotta strap it up fell'as
Trae is a special player, I will get heat on saying it here, he is the most talented guard in Big 12.
-
RE: Chiefs - Bucs
Both run game and run D were very good against top competition, this is a positive sign.
Credit also goes to OL and DL. They stepped up.
-
RE: Marquette Golden Eagles - Wednesday - 6pm - ESPN 2
@JayHawkFanToo That’s correct, partly because many TN and Louisville fans had left after their game. On a separate note they played the new intro video which gave me goose bumps. KU was the only team that brought cheerleaders and mascot.
-
RE: Will weather be a factor tomorrow /predictions
This has to be KUs best win since Orange bowl victory.
-
RE: Chiefs Draft
It was a fun to read these comments from a few months ago.
On a separate note Chiefs have signed Daniel Wise (KU DL) to a futures contract. I am happy for him and hope that he can work his way to a roster spot.

RE: Arterio Morris
Jay It’s still a rumor and it’s always best not to react on non-verified information.
-
RE: Big Dave M Appreciation Thread
While introducing him for Senior day speech, Self made a comment saying something like how Dave has played hurt this year and yet never once complained.
-
RE: Recruiting Notes
Biggest issue this year was lack of depth, just cannot go on the entire season without any bench contribution.
Starters cannot play 35+ minutes each and every game.
Ultimately it takes a toll and that’s what happened to this team.
Another point is lack of mental toughness, we needed at least one player with mental toughness of Franks, Devontes, CBs, Ochais, JWils
-
RE: Hypothetical: 5th Year Dave, What's the Fit?
I hope that CB and JW declare, get feedback and come back, in other words, follow the path taken by Och.
They have a solid example in front of them in that how total dedication and hard work can pay huge dividends.

RE: Jayhawks in the pros
BenMac finally got some PT last night, 18 mins or so and scored 17 pts.
-
RE: Miami Hurricanes Game Thread
How big was Dave to start the 2nd half Completely dominated and changed the game
-
RE: Sunflower Showdown Redeux
I thought Clemence had a nice game, his body language was also positive.

Gordon is Back
Sources are reporting that Royals have signed Gordon to a 4 year $72M deal.
This is a great news.

RE: Other games
@Crimsonorblue22 I have been impressed by Jay Wright as a commentator
-
RE: National Hurricane Center
@KUSTEVE I hope you and all folks in the area remain safe

Religion and politics should not be discussed at workplace in my opinion.
There is a saying that if you want to convert a friend into an enemy start discussing politics, and if that does not work start discussion religion.

RE: Struggling today.
@approxinfinity @Kcmatt7 While no one can really understand your challenges, I am 100% confident that you will come out of the circumstances and the future will be brighter.
I have absolutely no doubt.
It is easier said than done, just take one day at a time.
My intention is not to highlight any Faith, just describing how my belief has helped in dealing with similar situations.
Below is a verse from the scripture I follow, actually this verse is duplicated to provide greater emphasis.
So, Verily, With Every Difficulty, There is Relief.

RE: Land Thieves Shooty Hoops
@kuballin10 Calling Harris awful is a stretch and even harsh, guy is playing almost 40 nights in and out.
Has his game regressed a bit, yes, but look at the reasons. He has no backup. He cannot be super aggressive so not to get in foul trouble and he has to conserve energy to play almost 40 every game.
How will we look without him?

RE: BYU Thread
I’m moving on from this L and looking forward to remaining games, there’s still a chance to do well in the dance.
-
RE: Wounded Jayhawks game thread
Just remember tournament is on neutral courts whereas we have struggled on the road in hostile conditions.
Upsets happen all the time, other teams will have pressure too.
With senior leadership I am optimistic on our chances on neutral courts.
