@rockchalkjayhawk Yes, what is the cost and will it hinder progress of young WRs.
What do fans think about Hopkins?
He has been linked to Chiefs for some time.
Should Chiefs sign him?
Udeh to Duke.
Glad he did not go to KSU.
If the season was to begin now:
Are 0ur starters better than last year? Yes or No
Is our bench better than last year? Yes or No
Is this a desperate signing after Udeh and Zuby departure.
Unlike last year Chiefs schedule is back end loaded this year.
How do folks see Chiefs season panning out?
I am thinking they go 13-4 with 14-3 a real possibility.
I like the idea of getting a few new good players via portal to improve the team but I wish mass exodus of current players can be avoided.
My point is that we still should be able to see some players go through the development and growing process every year, freshmen to upperclassmen.
I am particularly disappointed in how Cuffe’s departure was handled, wish coach would not have called out his name in public.
I’d love for Udeh and Zuby to stay and develop, similar to Dave M trajectory.
Chiefs have resigned RB McKinnon.
They have also signed former Bucs LT Donovan Smith, veteran LT. It seems that Chiefs are trying to add depth and competition in OL.
Singer has been a major disappointment.
He missed valuable innings build up prior to start of the season by getting into US roster but did not get to pitch much in the tournament.
But still, he does not have same control he possessed last year.
Sometimes it is better to get as an FA and make the roster with a strong camp.
Hopefully these guys will work their butts off with a chip on their shoulders and make their respective rosters.
Can he man up and get his off the court life in order?
What influence will Self have on him?
Will KU athletics put him in some sort of counseling?
We will find out.
Chiefs need to select a running back and I think one more OL for depth.
Veatch liked his versatility, played multiple position - safety, nickel, outside.
Veatch trading up and taking VA Tech DB in rnd 4, seems to be mainly for special teams, at least in year 1.
Royals are 6-21, I was expecting much better.
These guys are really struggling, can they learn and grow?
What about the new manager, is he too nice of a guy?
Most analysts are not giving good grades on Chiefs round 2 and 3 selections. Folks are saying that better WR options were available than Rashee.
I think Veatch took into consideration Mahomes input who had worked out with him in TX recently.
To be fair, no one knows how this draft class will pan out.
It will be interesting to read these comments again in Nov and Dec.
How do folks see day 1.
I thought Texans were ultra-aggressive and made solid moves, any Texans fans here?
How about Eagles selecting two Defensive studs from Georgia, their D will be legit.
I was surprised to see UK QB did not get drafted in round 1, several analysts were predicting him to in top 5.
Another surprise was Jets not selecting OL to protect Rogers.
Finally, not draft, but Lamar saga came to an end, he got paid nicely.
Most analysts are predicting Panthers to select Bryce Young, however, Texans pick is a mystery. Logic says they should draft CJ Stroud but some folks think they may select on D.
I have also seen some reports suggesting Chiefs trading up in 21-22 range.
Let’s see how things shake out tomorrow in KC.
I have not followed his recruiting.
Can he perform at P5 level competition and compete at the same level as he did when playing in a mid major.
Phila and Den in the finals will be nice
Joel and CB in action
I have seen a few mock drafts showing KC going with KSU DE in rnd 1.
2023 NFL draft is coming soon, to be held in KC starting next week.
No matter which team you root for, let’s take this thread to comment on the process - needs, wishes etc.
For Chiefs I see WR as biggest need but I’d like them to draft either DE or OT, best prospect in round 1, pick 31 and look for WR in round 2 or 3.
Chiefs have signed Blaine Gabbert as backup QB, 12-year veteran.
I thought that Buechele will get the job but it appears that Chiefs want competition at the spot.
Rush, Chalmers, RR, Arthur, Sherron, Jackson, Kaun
They could beat you in every way possible.
08 is still Self’s best team at KU IMO.
How about Rays, 13-0 to start the season.
@Kcmatt7 Perhaps it took a while for coaches to figure out the roster and likewise it took some time before players started resonating with new coaches.
Initial results are indicating that pitching coaching changes are working well.
I wish Royals had made similar moves on hitting side.
KU baseball is doing remarkably well under first year coach. They won a series against a ranked West VA team on the road.
He is a solid receiver
I expect him to be #3 or #4 depending on Sky’s improvement in year 3
Chiefs have signed Richie James, former Giants WR.
He had a good year with NY last year.
Pitching has been better, one bright spot so far.
Terrible first week for Royals, went 1-6 at home.
@BShark I think he will test the water and then decide. I think it is 50-50.
@kuballin10 https://247sports.com/college/kansas/Article/KU-basketball-coach-Bill-Self-uses-unique-recruiting-philosophy-146814100/
Here is one article where he talks about ability to shoot
@Bosthawk Boston is not too shabby, I love it.
I recall an interview when Bill was asked about what he values in a recruit.
He clearly said that he values Offense when recruiting and on D he said that he can teach them how to guard.
But you cant teach them to score.
AI is the future, no question about it.
Just want to insure we take precautions to avoid catastrophes.
