Except for the turnovers I think Tiller did okay. He had some blocks and five rebounds but passed up some looks from three. I hope Darryn comes back with a vengeance when all the niggling setbacks go away. We ran about two plays for him and he got two baskets. I think the two worst looking shots we took today were Flory's short hook shot that went over the hoop and didn't get within two feet at any time and Kohl's three ball attempt. Kohl is aggressive all day and he missed two drives where I was sure he was going to jam it. Elmarko was good and no turnovers. We were so boring that the home crowd shut up.

@Tallturd1 Kohl is just way too sped up right now, he hot potato’s it up with a shot. I thought Flory and Tiller both played tired. Flory finished the game strong but had very little stats 3/4s of the way thru the game. I feel like we go how our big go. I wouldn’t say we had an effort issue outside of DP but man we just didn’t play with any toughness or smarts imo. We have to settle down the insane amount of block attempts right now. I think about 6 times we had Flory, Tiller and a guard go for a block, whiff on it leading to an easy put back for ISU.

On a bright side KU Women won.
Our first-year player J Davis has been outstanding, has won 6 straight Freshman of the league award.
-
We just really need this team to start practicing together and gelling here at the end. DP is not integrated with the rest of the team and it has shown last several games he has played.
Hoping whatever bullshit we’ve had dealing with him is done. It’s the home stretch and we can actually peak at the right time if he starts practicing and playing like he should be.

That's three Big 12 losses. I don't think we can claim even a share of the title with 4. Got to win out to have a chance.
Tech upsetting Arizona makes 14-4 sharing the Big 12 more of a possibility now.
UH should win the Big 12 at this point, but their next 3 games is an absolutely brutal stretch and 0-3 is a possibility with @ISU tomorrow, Arizona on Saturday, and @KU next Monday.
Arizona still has games left against BYU, @Houston, Kansas, and Iowa St. They have a favorable schedule with 3 of their remaining games against ranked teams coming at home.
Kansas has remaining games against Houston and @Arizona. Our other 4 remaining games are against the 10th, 11th, 12th, and last place teams.
Iowa St. has games against Houston, @BYU, Texas Tech, and @Arizona left. They're definitely good enough to go 3-1 in those games with defense.
Texas Tech probably has the easiest remaining schedule along with KU with games @Iowa St. and @BYU left for their ranked games.
I think if UH wins tomorrow, they're going to win the league outright again at 16-2, Arizona finishes second at 15-3, KU and Tech finish tied for 3rd at 14-4, and ISU finishes 5th at 13-5.

I think this is a pretty level-headed look ahead. A lot feels like it hinges on that Houston / Iowa State game tomorrow night.
I feel like I have to root for Iowa State to do some damage and keep hopes alive for KU to finish at the top in a tie.

Houston will blow out Iowa St tomm. Book it

That game is at Hilton, UH won't blow out ISU.

Iowa St just had their super bowl and Houston is a better team. Standing by my prediction

Not so fun with the box score!
This one really was defined by the tenacious Iowa State defensive effort. Not an easy place to win, and i don't think we have for awhile. But, i wasn't expecting to be blown out like that. gotta keep the NCAA tourney stats people happy, and that didn't.
FGs
KU 19-51 / 37%
ISU 27-62 / 44%
TURNOVERS
KU 13
ISU 6
3 PT SHOTS
KU 6-18
ISU 11-30
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Darryn Peterson: 24 minutes played / 10 pts / 3 TOs and doodly squat elsewhere really. A total dud. Fingers crossed he can recover from his ailments quickly. Hard for KU to win with those stats, although you could argue we've won with him scoring zero on the bench! ha. his defense was and has been pretty bad as well lately.
Tre White: 2 points / 4 rebounds / 1 assist / 1 turnover. Tre is in the midst of a statistically awful run. sounds like he has a tooth issue? I hope that explains things, but maybe not if we go back a few games or so.
Flory Bidunga: 11 points / 13 rebounds / 5-13 FGs / 1 block. 11 and 13 is nice, but that FG% is about half his usual. He sure was dribbling around a lot. not a good sign!
BENCH SCORING
10 points: Once again low output from the bench. But that's actually pretty good for this team. Maybe even more than doubling a usual game. Recents have been 4, 2, etc. How they heck can ya win like that?? crazy.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I could see it. Houston won't turn the ball over like we did and won't let ISU outrebound them. Also Iowa State's 40 footers and sideways corner threes that fell against us won't fall against Houston.
-
Saunders from BYU...torn ACL. They done

Both teams are insanely physical and strong defensively this will be a race to 60. It won't be a blow out either way.
-
Teams that played BYU with Saunders played a much better version of BYU.
Any of the B12 leaders that still have BYU on their schedule will have an advantage. Not nearly the test that it was prior to Saturday.
-
We had five less treys and 12 less points off turnovers. Equals 27 points to the bad.
-
This caught my eye!
