I think it’s partly a HCBS preference for “combo” guards. Dotson thinks score first, not pass. It was the same with Frank and Devonte, although both improved their distribution over time. Dotson is not really a great point guard - he doesn’t (yet) make the players around him better. He is a very good college scoring guard…
