Mill A Wah Kay Game Thread

In a game like this a guy just wants to go win the second half and get the walk-ons in. Not sure we will see them outside of a few seconds.
-
@Big-Clyde52 reason?
-
@BShark Well look on the bright side.
Self can yell at them about staying engaged. And it may prevent us from being ranked #1 heading into Villanova, which would definitely be an auto-loss.
-
I will say again. I can not remember a KU team that could put a team away consistently. This should have been a 40+ point win.
-
Milwaukee hitting some shots too
-
@DanR 2nd shots too

2011 is the last I remember just burying people
-
@FarmerJayhawk This team is just too inconsistent offensively to do it imo. 2011 team had all the tools.
-
Not much rest?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 No excuse for getting beat by 12 points over the last 23 minutes of the game by this team…
-
Oh my!
-
I’d take a 40 point blowout any day, but they might be able to learn something from this.
-
Bounce
-
Sometimes Milwaukee makes junk shots, sometimes they airball them like that. Good D both times.
-
fans want 100. do it guys.
-
Fans want Teahan more than they want 100.
-
Ok guys. There are people in Las Vegas who really care about the last 74 seconds. Make it count.
-
I hope Milwaukee puts their walk-ons in too. This game is cooked.
-
ginger is in the game

@DanR and scores

What was the spread

@KirkIsMyHinrich 26. JUST AMAZING NEVER IN DOUBT.
-
Shocked that we made it to 95.
-
@BShark Awwww yeah
-
Thanks to Teahan we cover and win the second half! I would’ve put him in sooner
-
17 boards wow

Doke’s line was absurd today. 7-7 from the field and 1-1 from the line!!!
-
I kinda hope the Roos give us a game for awhile. We need a wake up call.
-
Doke reminds me of the Royal’s Salvy Perez in post game interviews. Speaks excitedly and confidently and I can barely catch every third or fourth word and I love it.
-
Great game by Doke, Dot and Ochai. I’ll be expecting more boards from Doke in the future, no reason why he can’t average 10 or 12. The main difference tonight is he actually went after them on both ends repeatedly, didn’t just wait and hope it came his way.
-
This was a “perfect” game. Played amazing flashing the true ability of this team when locked in. Proceeded to fool around with line-ups getting guys valuable pt. Guys got lazy so Self can chew on them then they put them to sleep after it got down to 16.
-
Tired of the lil promo music?
-
BYU up by 25 over a decent Nevada team. Makes us look better.
-
Excited Doke is boarding better, also makes me cringe with the hand injury history.
-
@Big-Clyde52 BYU is a solid, fringe tournament team imo. KU completely controlled that game, and really every game since the Duke game except Dayton as that one got hairy late (three games in three days didn’t help).
Some good teams played in that stretch. Shouldn’t be much of a game against KC so I’m really looking at the Nova game as a benchmark. Tough road game against a good offense.
-
@BShark Agree. Our next 2 games will be testers on the road at Nova and then Jarrod’s bunch. Then we jump right into the Big 12.
-
@approxinfinity stop that!
-
WOW! Great block to save the Baylor win. Another undefeated goes down. Monmouth wins also. Yea!!
-
For sure a tale of 2 halves last night. You know for sure Self was not happy with the way they played that 2nd half last night - not good. - -the 2nd half just way , way to many open layups - like the Red Sea parting - - Wide open 3’s like shooting practice in practice - -defense intensity was gone the 2nd half. - sure we won, but we play like that against somebody - -anybody that is anybody later in the year - -we gonna be in trouble.
Right around the 8:00 mark in the 1st half we were up 40-12 - - -from that point on we ended up being outscored 66-55 – -not good , must of been thinking games were 20 minute games instead of 40 - -tale of two games - -we looked pretty good for the 1st 15 minutes - -then just eh the rest - - I’m sure Coach will remind them tomorrow. - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Self played Braun more than Enaruna.
Garrett is now down to 26.7% from three. Missed wide open attempts last night.
We discussed Doke’s poor rebounding. Maybe someone challenged his manhood. Seems to prove the effort argument. He plainly had a different mindset.
The total minutes for our bigs was 57. On Saturday it was 54. 48 vs Dayton. 50 vs BYU. McCormack’s minutes since playing 29 vs Duke - 11, 16, 12 17, 20, 16, 15, 17.
-
PER’s after the Milwaukee game.
Dotson is on a tear, now up to 26.2
Agbaji has made leaps in the last 4 games to 16.1 after hovering in the 10 range.
Garrett has dipped a bit recently but still well above his career average.
-
Some impressive stats for the Hawks individually after 9 games.
Dotson 19.8 ppg, 5 assists, 3.9 boards, 2 steals. 85.9% FT, 49% FG, 32.5% from 3.
Doke 14.8 ppg, 8.4 boards, 1.9 blocks pg. An Astounding 82% from the field. Maybe just as important up to 1 assist pg, and his fouls per game are down. @approxinfinity, your spot on with Doke about his passing improving
Agbaji now up to 12.1 ppg, 5.2 boards, 2.6 assists and now more importantly 40% from 3.
Garrett, solid line- 9, 4, over 4 assists a game, 2 steals.
Moss- doing exactly what we need, a 45% 3 point shooter. Also important to note he’ll be an invaluable late game FT shooter with Dotson (90%).

Moss is doing this without them being wide-open 3s too. You give him the smallest of a window and he isn’t afraid to let it fly. Legit shooter.
-
Very good shooter. Gives this team invaluable spacing as well. If Agbaji and Moss are hitting 40% consistently we should theoretically keep defenses from trying to double the post option and should help keep those drives open for Dotson and Garrett. We’ll see. I’ve been impressed with how well Moss has settled into his role
