If Diallo could shoot even slightly it would have happened with him too. I don’t know how they didn’t see this coming.
UK had an open scholarship and figured adding another NBA player to the checkbox was worth whatever they would spend on him. That is their recruiting pitch.

I get the natives are getting restless with recent Calamari results but literally 100 headlines I’ve seen since last fall about Sharpe going to Kentucky early and then going Pro. And he did exactly what he said he was going to do… Hard to get mad about a player who never even put on the Jersey but I guess that’s what they do

That is Mattress Mack, the guy who bet millions on KU winning the title. He owns a furniture store here and ran a promotion where if someone bought a $3000 or more mattress and KU won, you got it for free. He invited Self to Houston to meet the people who got free mattresses because of the promotion.

Hes planning his next promotion for the Kentucky Derby. He will bet 3 million on the race favorite. Did it last yr and didn’t win but it caused a big stir

No connection to KU. He just runs promotions like that several times a year and places huge bets as way to recoup money if the outcome results in a lot people getting free furniture. He’s been doing this for years now, but Gaines national attention in 2017 when the Astros won their first World Series and he had to go to multiple sports books to bet millions on the Astros because of how much money was going to lose in giving away free furniture.
