Barking Mad Game Thread

@DanR I like good offense and making shots, but good defense is what I really want to see.
-
Keep up the same effort on D and just be a little more effective on offense and this can be a win.
-
Friends I’m fairly worried Doke broke something there and just made our season a lot tougher.
-
Self said it was a high ankle sprain for Doke
-
They said its a high ankle sprain, out indefinitely.

PRAISE THE SUN GOD AMON-RA if true.
-
Where is the high ankle? I’ve never understood that.
-
Doke with a high ankle sprain. Silvio would be nice about now.
-
Could they X-Ray that quickly? I mean surely not…
-
The replay looked like it wasn’t facing right, be very lucky if no ligament damage or breaks from what I’ve seen.
-
High ankle sprain is not good. http://www.aofas.org/footcaremd/conditions/ailments-of-the-ankle/pages/high-ankle-sprain.aspx

I mean, we have Dave if Self would play him more. Dave is really good, just needs some more experience at this level. Confidence will also come with playing more.
-
Chuck Moore is really struggling with his shot. Through this half he’s 6/23 or 23%. From 3, Chuck’s 2/14 or 14%. But, a shooter has to shoot his way out of a slump.
-
I guess the question is was Dave better than Doke in the first half?

He’d be ready for the NCAAT.

I would argue yes. 13-6 with Dave in.
-
Here’s an explanation on the high ankle sprain (OW).
A high ankle sprain, also known as a syndesmotic ankle sprain (SAS), is a sprain of the syndesmotic ligaments that connect the tibia and fibula in the lower leg, thereby creating a mortise and tenon joint for the ankle. High ankle sprains are described as high because they are located above the ankle. They comprise approximately 15% of all ankle sprains.[1] Unlike the common lateral ankle sprains, when ligaments around the ankle are injured through an inward twisting, high ankle sprains are caused when the lower leg and foot externally rotates (twists out).

Dave is good and should play more.
-
Dave is 1 for 4 from FT for the season. Thats gotta get better with a larger sample set, right?
-
Announcer is right, rebounds have strangely hurt KU tonight.
-
Dave reminds a lot of T-Rob. He’ll be a very good player and a very high ceiling, but he’s very Raw at this point. When the game slows down for him and he starts refining his game, he’ll be a 20-10 type of player, probably by his junior year.
This year, we’ll see his energy, but he will be out of control a lot as well like with that mishandled attempted dunk that he was lucky to make because of nobody around him. He’ll get rebounds, but his scoring this year will mostly be second chance points and lobs.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 So who gets most of Doke’s minutes? KJ? Garrett? Mitch?
-
High ankle sprain is gonna linger all year for Doke.
-
KU is 1/10 from 3. Yikes. And Vick hasn’t even attempted a 3. Wofford is 2/9, so both teams are struggling.

I’d pretty much agree with this. I think with Doke out rebounding and garbage buckets are good enough to where he should get more tick.
-
Lageralds season 3p% is higher than his fg% lol

Dave should see an uptick in minutes while Doke is out.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Self kept it primarily a 4 guard look with Dedric the lone big until Doke gets back while mixing in some two big looks with Mitch and Dave rotating. I think Garrett would probably be the new starter on Saturday replacing Doke in the line up.

OU had a nice win over ND.
-
@BShark Doke does two things: 1) Dunks and 2) freaks out the opponents. Doesn’t rebound, block shots, screen or play d
-
Dedric is the rim protector. Ugh
-
Halftime box score.
-
REBOUNDING
-
A total embarrassment.
-
Put Dave in coach, geez.

Doke has always been a very poor rebounder for his size.
-
Poor offense for KU yet again. A bunch of “hero” ball.

Dedric is a good defender and rebounder. He won’t block a ton of shots, but he’ll make shots harder for people.
-
Nobody can rebound
-
that little woofer kid will probably hit his next 10 threes.
-
Post defense exposed without Doke
-
This is an ugly brand of basketball we’re playing.
-
The 3 point bricklaying contest might have to do with the weird rebound discrepancy… all long rebounds.

This is the key to this game shockingly.

Rebound and this is a blowout.
-
Theres another one. Long rebound.
-
Dotson doing the things!
-
Should’ve been on time
-
NICE

Sweet

Wow. Do more of that!
