ACC play is a meat grinder, they will pick up some Ls there. Maybe only 2-3 but still. UNC, Virginia etc…

They are better than the UK team that nearly went undefeated I think. But you’re right. Tougher league to play in. They may see some challenges

LOL yep. Cal isn’t used to being out athleted. If Cal can figure some things out, and get Duke into more of a half court game, this game might get interesting.

Wichita State got smoked at home by Louisiana Tech. Duke may have the most athletic team I’ve ever seen play at this level.

Both Duke and UK have crazy talent but Duke’s is a lot farther along. UK is not a good shooting team, Duke is but it’s short bench is probably its Achilles heel; however, with Duke owning the refs the net negative effect is considerbly less.

Zion and RJ look like the real deal. Duke looks very good.

Duke looks scary. Their weakness is definitely their depth. Zion staying out of foul trouble and surviving the season at his size are his challenges.

Duke appears to have as high a ceiling as we do. Going to enjoy ripping their hearts out wherever we meet them in the tournament.

Okay, based on an admittedly small sample size of 20 minutes, who has the bigger upside this season, Duke or UK?
Duke obviously has the raw talent, but Kentucky strikes me as more mature.

In games like this, depth is overrated. UK is less talented 1-6. Thats what matters.
But also, PJ sucks, NR sucks, and Green sucks. That’s why they are all sophomores at UK. Add in that Quickley sucks and Hagans sucks and you have a double digit loss team. Reid is their best player and he played on a bad team last season. UK can either suck at D or they can suck at O depending on the lineup. But they don’t have a group of 5 that can play on both ends.

Sucks by UK standards. I’d bet PJ and Nick would develop well at KU. PJ is decent, but he’s a 6’7’’ center, so that will hurt you in some games for sure.
I’m not big on Green or Quickley, but I thought Hagans might be a dude. Herro is um…he is completely outmatched in this game. Barrett sees a target cursor on Herro every time he has the ball. Herro won’t be overmatched like this every game I don’t think anyway. He’s not great overall though.

Herro will stuggle unless he can beat guys off of the dribble. The only guy who can shoot on their team. They won’t let him shoot. PJ is a 6’7 C. You’re right. He can’t block a shot. Neither can Reid. Montgomery is overmatched now that guys are his size. Only positive is KJ. And he doesn’t score well enough.

@Kcmatt7 I don’t see Herro being able to beat many guys off the dribble. He’s gotta work like Svi to get open on the 3 pt line.
Interesting point about their front court guys. The two that are good offensively can’t defend for shit in the post. Richards is okay on that end, but his offense is um, yeah.
