Pg r.j.davis, class of 2020 has picked up a offer from ku
ya KU has offered. - -So far has offers from Marquette , Indiana , UCLA , Pitt - -& now KU. - - North Carolina interested - Herbert Davis was watching him the other day - -no offer yet - - Villanova interested - -no offer yet - - -visited G’Town
Currently ranked at # 86 - - by rivals - -pretty sure will be moving up as he getting more and more interest. - -Much rather have Dix - or hell even Love would be nice. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
I think theres a half dozen or so guards higher on the list. We know they are extending plenty of offers to those they like or those they hope have some interest
-
Think we could get RJ Davis.
-
Maybe so but is he good enough compared to others we are after. Someone like Nix or Mane really push the needle. Not sure Davis is that guy.
He can shoot and has handles but he is not an athlete. Think moore
-
@BeddieKU23 thinking we don’t get Nix. Depends how many guards we need. If we need just two I’d love for it to be Thompson and Mane. Think Davis is very realistic and obtainable though. Could live with Thompson and Davis.

I agree to an extent. I want Thompson for sure and I think he is someone that could really pair well with McBride due to his bigger size and skill.
Davis with McBride isnt a big enough backcourt imo. I dont see Davis a starter at KU or a difference maker at that size and average athletic ability at best.
Mane mentioned KU as one of the 4 schools showing the most interest. I really liked his video. All the combo guard intangibles and he is a plus athlete. That kid has NBA potential at his size as a pro PG
-
Heard from my friend about Lance Ware. Probably late to that party but didnt get any negative info about him either. He is a post player and the video makes that apparent. Plenty of 6’7 types have success in the post with the right frame and he looks to have that frame to play the 4
-
@BeddieKU23 Louisville the front runner?
-
Yes forgot to mention that part. Louisville definitely in deep there

Yeah I really like Mane as well and hope he is prioritized.

@BShark I’m with you on that one, Thompson and Mane.

From Bossi, “Why he’s rising: Harris originally signed with Missouri State in the class of 2019, and he could have been a potential player of the year in the Missouri Valley. The guy is just a leader. He wins a lot of games and makes everybody around him better.
Current recruitment: Schools are just figuring out that Harris has gotten his release from Missouri State. Expect high-major offers to flood in during July.”
-
@FarmerJayhawk well…well…do tell…
-
I also think there’s a chance he reclassifies back to 2019 later this summer and we RS him.
-
Wow. I found this …me likey…:
-
So like, I mean, he pinned the KU offer tweet. Seems dece.
-
Didn’t really see a lot here that just gave me that Wow factor - -nothing special , a lot of lay ups. - -only seen a couple of out side J’s he is decent from this tape but nothing that blows me away.

He’s a guy you redshirt that is a pain in the ass for other teams as a JR/SR. Also friends with Braun I believe.

Later this summer meaning next week from the looks of it.
-
@BShark I like him. i hope we get him.
-
Highlights are unimpressive. Below the rim player, short, not long, no stroke. McBride without a shot or a short Garrett without the D? I’m hopeful the video was just poorly done.
-
@dylans I’m not sure when those highlights are from, but this summer he’s been extremely good apparently.
-
Video posted here was from last March.
To me, he looks like he has decent arm length for his size. He finishes well in the lane with both hands. He absolutely can jump. In one of the newer videos he dunks from almost being flat footed.
I’d also rather get another PG in here now instead of hoping we land a big name next season and end up settling for someone almost exactly like him to be the backup next year. Get someone in now that can learn the system for a full season. Who’s to say he won’t push McBride out of the backup role? AND literally the worst case scenario is that he gets here, realizes he doesn’t belong, and transfers out. This is a no lose situation from my point of view.
-
Sounds like 2019 is the plan, and he’ll likely redshirt unless he pulls an Ochai and goes nuts.

You really hit on the knoggin here. No risk. Get the guy in if he wants and see what he’s made of. In today’s landscape if he doesn’t fit he’ll move on
-
Oh this is a fun one.
Walker denies interest in playing overseas this year but we all know how denials go. Probably a lot of truth to him not having the grades to stay home and enroll somewhere.

The word you always see on him is “tough”, “leader” and “winner”. Makes others better etc…

So done with him already. W/e

I can live with those qualities. I’m not jumping up and down seeing that video but if he’s improved a bunch from that, I’d rather use the scholarship then hold it. We’re one Dotson injury from the sky is falling.

Maybe there isn’t truth to him actually going but I’m not buying it. Good luck to the kid. There was a brief thrill he might land here…

Yep. Plus it seems he is really close with CB. Would be the third MoKan kid recently after none for a long time.
I think he is firmly a RS guy but better to get him on campus and in the KU/Self program for a year than stash him at Sunrise. Like even if Dot gets injured (PLZ NO) I don’t think he would play next year.

Basically brothers with the Brauns. There’s a rumor he’d be a partial qualifier, but I rarely buy into rumors about grades.

How on earth do you know that? I’m not at all second guessing you it’s just the amount of knowledge some of you have is very impressive.
-
@rockchalkwyo Just word of mouth. Also noticed back when and after Braun committed to us that he and Harris engaged with each other a lot on twitter. I then looked into Harris at the time and saw he was committed to Missouri State so I didn’t think he would enter the equation for KU.

It was also in a Newell piece today. Harris lived with the Braun’s during AAU season for a couple years.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Didn’t see this, thanks.
-
“Playing this summer with MOKAN Elite (an AAU program based in Kansas City) and is a tough as nails floor general and a winner,” Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi wrote of Harris on Tuesday.
-
Well guess they are seeing something seeing as how we offered. - -Sounds like from people in the know that he might transfer back to 2019?
If we wanted to and If he was interested enough with us - - - would we even have a scholi for him? - - let’s see don’t we still have ONE open? - - - I don’t think he will be a guy that commits to soon - - he might sit back and just see how many and who ends up offering
-
saw a post from a fan saying that this kid is going to commit after Peach jam - somewhere anyways. - - That is this weekend I heard , can anyone one else verify that this is true? - -just curious. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@jayballer73 sounds like it’ll be next week and to Kansas. Probably for 2019
-
Harris looks great in this video. Shifty, solid handles, finishes with left or right, creatively. Can dunk. Put on some muscle since other video.
-
@approxinfinity I’m always down with true point guards. I don’t think you can have too many of them.
-
@approxinfinity much better. He didn’t look power 5 caliber in the first video.

Well if that turns out to be the case , maybe if he is rising like articles are saying then - - maybe we stole a solid player , cause they talking like he is going to be getting more likely then not a lot of higher major offers. - So if he commits that soon then would be good. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Another player that is going to add serious depth.
-
@jayballer73 I liked him from the first second because his tapes show some real good assists, great court vision, and some great drives. He has outstanding dribbling skills… still not sure his outside shot is there quite yet. The guy he reminds me of is a young Tyshawn. Without the turnovers.
