Vanderbilt “conveniently” pushed a few guards out to make room for Langford
Vanderbilt’s uptick in recruiting isn’t suspicious at all.
nothing to see here…righttt
LSU being looked into. I can imagine Vandy could be next
-
Also losing an elite recruit to a Drew would suck.
-
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl of Miege, also a finalist for 4A-I and all-classes POY, named Sports in Kansas Junior of the Year, Ty Berry of Newton named Sophomore of the Year, while Jackie Johnson of Wichita North named Freshman of the Year. shar.es/1LeQIv

Will be interesting to see where he ends up. And please be it anywhere but UK
-
Bryce Thompson (2020 recruit whose dad played for Self at Tulsa) is shooting up the rankings.

That’s a big jump and with Self after him early have to think we are sitting great there.
RJ Hamption #3. Boss
Jalen Green is a freak
One of my early favorites from this class is surprisingly under ranked at this point. Noah Farrakhan a PG from IMG. To this point I don’t think KU has really reached out to him. I think they should
-
Anfernee Simons as expected skips college and declares for the draft
-
-
Since obtaining his release from Pitt, PG Marcus Carr is hearing from these schools: Texas Cincy Minnesota Iowa State Gonzaga Xavier UMass Akron Ohio state
-
Big development in our 2019 plans. Jeff Capel took the Pitt job. Look for names like Vernon Carey and Cole Anthony to be more open now.
-
Could be the difference in KU landing Hurt too… Also Achiuwa who I was told Duke was trying to get involved with
-
I think Hurt will be KU or Minnesota. Thought that before this move even.
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if Minnesota is looking for a new coach. It seems we positioned well for Hurt and situations around him might be helping us further

From what I understand, he is the top post target and the staff has made that clear.
-
USC continues to cheat the legal way. Hiring Eric Mobley as an assistant, he has two sons that are Top 100 prospects in 19 and 20
-
What’s the significance of Jeff Capel switching jobs?
Edit. Never mind. Lead Duke recruiter. I was thinking if someone else.
-
@BeddieKU23 Lol of course.

He’s the big time recruiter for Duke.
-
@BShark Who is Houstons coach?
-
@dylans Kelvin Sampson
-
@BShark Thanks, that’s who I was thinking of.
-
Capel got 7 years to field a full team. He might need em all.
-
This is BIG if RJ Hampton jumps to 2019.
-
Capel did well at VCU and not that good at OU, much like Smart. Capel taking the Pitt job means he was not in line to take over the Duke program after Coach K retires.

Definitely I was seeing a lot of dukies starting to think RJ was someone they would go after. I’m sure they still would but this puts KU in a better spot
-
I agree the length of the contract will make it difficult to imagine Capel was next in line. Gets to prove himself at an ACC school though in case he does turn Pitt around

Or, could it mean K isn’t retiring any time soon? Capel wants to be a head coach now!
-
Mack gets a 7 year deal at Louisville.
They might be on probation for 7 years…
If your Xavier players you have to be pissed. Lot of young talent still there…

RJ Hampton would probably be the best guard to ever play at KU. Okay I’ll pump the brakes a bit maybe but he is electric.
-
Coach K is 71 and with several health issues. I think he will retire in the next 3-5 years or sooner if he gets another NCAA Title or the health issues force him.
-
KU just offered a bad bad dude in the 2020 class: https://twitter.com/JohnnyJuzang/status/978365052943155200

Tubby out at Memphis
In with Penny
Surprise surprise.
Poor Tubby can’t buy a team. I watched his gradual decline over the years. It’s kinda sad. He went from UK, Minnesota, TT, and now Memphis.

Jeff Capel - Blake Griffin, Tiny Gallon, and one more guard at OU. Fail…Let’s see what his time at Puke did for his coaching skills.
-
Duke board reached out to RJ Hampton about Capel leaving. It certainly hurts their relationship now that someone else has to take point especially with the dad… Too early to tell if that really ends up making all the difference.
Says reclassifying to 19 isn’t happening but we all know that can change any day

I’ll be salty if Duke swipes Hampton away.

It might come down to timing… If RJ stays in 20 there’s a good chance KU might be looking for its next PG by that time. Of course Duke could be in the same situation with their revolving lineup. Will be interesting to see how the Dotson/Grimes signings impact how prospects look at KU and with Self’s involvement in USA ball. Lots of positive momentum on the line

@BShark that stroke looks pure and release is quick. A few of those shots went up so quick I was honestly shocked lol
-
Bryce is looking good this far out… Good thing we have some advantages with this one already
-
@BeddieKU23 If the staff swings for a commitment it’s really hard to see it not happening.
-
Looks like a very good shooter. Hope he continues to grow a little and settle into a position
-
Should be a 2G/CG. Doubt he grows enough to be a wing.

Perfectly okay with that, would just like to see him more in the 6’4ish area as he doesn’t look like a standout athletic type at the moment
-
You are right about that. Harvey isn’t either. I wrote about this in another thread but it’s hard to find guys that are elite athletes and elite shooters. Those tend to be OAD players.
I’m fine with adding kids like Thompson and Harvey, just need some athletes too. This year’s KU team was an odd beast because of a lack of any kind of depth up front while starting 3 guys that aren’t great athletes at the P5 level.
-
Any 4 year program players that’ll win KU a championship on the line? McCormack and Agbaji possibly?
-

I would expect both are here four years atm
-
True. I’m just hoping he gets a bit bigger to compensate a bit and with him being 2 years out there’s a good chance he isn’t done. I’ll take his shooting ability any-day and twice on Sunday.
Harvey has looked more fluid this year from video but its hard to tell. Anything to shed on that?

Got a question. - The signing period is April 11th through May 16th - but seems like they can still commit actually anytime throughout the summer can’t they - -thinking that’s right cause wew have had transfers announce they were coming after these dates right.?

That is correct. And if they don’t sign within the period, they will then just sign what is called a “Grant-in-aid.” I don’t know why any player signs an actual LOI instead of this thing. If a player signs this instead, they don’t need to schools permission to be released.
