Darryn Peterson

@drgnslayr As far as the ongoing team narrative, I think the script last night was perfect. We were good enough to hang with #5 and for the first half looked like the better team. We just weren't good enough to put them away. Translation, Darryn doesn't need to come in and blow anything up. Come in for 16-20 minutes in that game, score efficiently in double digits and play decent defense and we win that game. Not a big ask. Get healthy, do that, and sparkle in limited minutes. Then drop a couple nukes in the tournament.

@nuleafjhawk makes it even harder and wonder when you see him dressed out and then during time outs you see him bouncing around outside of the huddle and giggling talking to other players,
I think there is more going on then what we know , I think his handler's/agent have their arms in up to their elbows deep in this
-
Lots of speculating going on, with people thinking they can read minds. Let's all get mad and assume bad faith by a player who may well be in the midst of being far more frustrated than all of our fan-doctors.
-
@mayjay yes, strong ass take! This.

There is some really dark ideas going around... like he has eligibility issues. Or others saying he won't return. This all needs to stop...and let this play out.
I still have confidence in his return and this is all a legitimate concern about his health.
-
I look at Darryn and I see a mature kid who is capable of getting through this and beign a major player for us. He looks relaxed and rooting for his teammates, cutitng up with them. Team unity is strong and Darryn isnt a primadonna in that dept, he looks like a good teammate. We really need to not undermine the ability for that to happen.

I keep hearing his camp is the hold, Self thought he would play last night and his group is saying let’s wait and see. If that’s the case his group is going to end up costing him millions.

@kjayhawks2.0 I’m calling “fan fiction “ on this one.
Kyrie Irving — 11 games → #1 pick
Darius Garland — 5 games → #5 picWhat will cost him millions is if he comes back before he is ready.

I'm thinking Bill or family will untie Darryn at the next home game which will be after Mizzou at a neutral site and on the road at NCSU. At that time we might be 8-3 or 6-5. It could be about a 20 win season which is where KenPom had us last time I checked. We might go 9-6 in conference or less if we drop a couple of home court games. I was thinking this team had found an identity after Vegas but looking back a repeatable scoring offense is missing. Hurley adjusted and sent guards and all to the boards and turned Mullin loose and we never adjusted back and failed to answer.

Valid but DP hasn’t played a full game

@approxinfinity True but I have ants in my pants and I need to dance.

I just want to remind everyone that the story was that the injury came during warmups.
If so, trainers need to be a bit more engaged.
I mean, if you calculate the time lost during these games in terms of DPs contract, it's probably not far from the salary of a trainer.
